Dim Ok wants me to explain the following picks:
ok no problem
Moya to beat Fish at $1.47 *400 units
-simple really.......price on Moya is just too good to pass up, and Moya is very good on Hardcourts....he did make the QF's as recently as 2001....and he made the finals in 1997...I'd say that's a pretty good hard court Aussy Open record And of course there's the mighty experiance factor as well.
Philippousis to beat Srichapan at $2.65 *150 units
-yes Srichapan will probably win this...but with Philippousis serve and the home crowd it's worth a shot at $2.65
Schalken to beat Ancic at $1.44 *400 units
-the vet takes care of business........Ancic has little to hurt Schalken...great value of $1.44
Furlan to beat Luczak at $2.60 *250 units
-my angle on this one is the "letdown" factor......Luczak gets a break with Pavel retiring so he now faces Furlan.......yes Luczak will have the crowd behind him, but I will go with Furlan and his experiance in this one (he's been on tour for like 300 years!). At $2.60 it's worth a shot........think the key to this match is first set....see how the rookie Luczak reacts to being in the second round of a slam! Simply put this bet is a value bet
Kafelnikov to beat Nieminen at $1.79 *400 units
-yes always risky to bet on Kafelnikov because of his head.....but I'll go with a Grand Slam champ anytime. Especially one who feels like he has something to prove. Meaning he was going to retire and decided against it.......I think Kafelnikov has a new outlook on this year.....and what better way to start out then at a Grand Slam!....Good value of $1.79......going with the vet
Lee to beat Agassi at $6.55 *100 units
-$6.55 come on.....why not  ......this will not be an easy match for Agassi......Lee is playing great (he's on an 8-0 run).....has lots of confidence and Agassi didn't look that great in his first round match. I think this will be a lot closer then people think..........would not be surprised if this went five sets....should be a great match to watch. Worth noting that last match they played on hardcourts was a close three setter for Agassi (7-5 3-6 6-3). So I think $6.55 is worth a 100 unit play
