@Q
the Fightwriter was also on Terrazes!

@ghost
Great work once again being the first to find the result!!!

BTW, they used to have technical decisino props!
Maybe the books lost money on that prop too often!

Decent week for me, but I should have stayed away from the prizefighter tourney!

Absolutely agree!!!

The ending was really weird!

The headclash that"ended" the fight didnt affect Devon cut at all! (It was on the other side).

And he didnt really look like he was too eager to continue (euphemism)!!

Head clash rule: the downside

Head clash rule: the downside

This is the downside to the head-clash rule. A fighter can (a) look to get out with a no decision if four rounds have not been completed (Campbell vs Bradley; Rahman vs Toney; Holyfield vs Williams etc although the first two examples backfired on the night) or (b) think: "I might get lucky on the scorecards." Alexander might have thought he had a chance of sneaking out a decision, and actually he wasn't terribly wrong in his assumption: One judge had it a one-point fight, of course, and in the Sky commentary in the UK Jim Watt also had Bradley up by just one point, and I believe Larry Merchant also had a one-point fight. Emanuel Steward said he would have been a "nervous wreck" no matter which corner he was in when the fight went to the scorecards. That is four experienced boxing observers, one of them a judge, who had this almost an even fight when it was stopped.

It's true, you can try to take advantage of every rule!

As for the scoring! You often get a very wide range of scorecards, and there were a lot of close rounds in this fight.
Actually, I had like 3 or 4 rounds which I thought could have gone either way! IMO as a judge you should try split up those close rounds and dont give every close round to one fighter!
But obviously thats what seems to happen a lot.

As for this fight, I have seen scorecards that had Bradley ahead by 5 points up to 1 point!
I head Bradley by 3 and I have seen no one that actually had Devon ahead and I dont even know if Devon really thought he won the fight. He neither looked surprised nor really dissapointed when he heard the decision!
I didnt like his attitute in this fight!!!

Alexander went to the "Cintron Boxing Academy" and thought he could pull a Kermit last night

"It was a headbutt....I mean a knee.....my left eye....actually it's my right eye and my left cheek.....come on ref....what the hell......he is punching me right in the face !!!!! How can you let him punch me right in the face !!!!!"

This is a guy I will NEVER back with my money EVER again. The guy is a total fraud.

I loved when Merchant asked Devon in the post fight:

"if offered, will you fight Maidana or Khan?"

Devon paused, and followed with:

"I got to fight Bradley. I have a rematch clause".

:mj07: :mj07: :mj07: :mj07: :mj07:

What a warrior. What he really meant was:

"Fuck NO I don't want to fight Maidana or Khan ! What do you think I am, a real fighter or something? Just let me get my rematch money and get out of here!"
