Defensive for sure, but he throws a looping left that leaves him open for a counter right from Donaire. I think the speed & power of Donaire along with the step up in weight for Narvaez will be too much to over come. Just from looking at a photo of these two at a press conference, Donaire looked liked he wants to decapitate this guy. Looks mean as hell and his killer instinct will manifest itself tonite.

a little worried about donaire`s weight...he was well under the limit...hope it doesn`t affect him....

lots of folks hyping natvaez(in spite of the odds)....reading many blurbs on the net indicating folks taking a stab at narvaez.....the record is solid...but i`m not sure his resume warrants the respect he`s getting...i think the books know what they`re doing here...

Very insightful You tube interview about Donaire and his weight, from NYC. He insinuates he cannot stay at 118. Also he appears to be a master at losing the weight for a fight, almost obsessive/compulsive. I think he is ready.

He's reportedly re-hydrated to 131.

hmmm not sure if this is not hurting him... heavy dehydration/rehydration lets wait and see, expext maybe a mid/late stoppage but you never know... his opponent at +2500 looks very tempting :0corn

Peculiar situation here. Why would a guy drop more than he has to in order to make weight? Lots of times guys are just exactly at the limit for their particular class or just a pound or ounces over and have a couple of hours to sweat it off. Seems he over did it a tad. Agree; not sure just how/if this will play out. Maybe it won't be a major factor at all? I got Donaire inside -286 and over 6.5-225@ Bodog. Also Huck under 9.5-175.

I am feeling lucky tonight:

Mike Sheppard +1200 (half pop)

What....you don't like 36 year old fighters with 12 career losses? He looks like he might be able to go rounds and Maddalone will be gassed after 3.

Omar Narvaez +2400 (half pop)

I've read too many good things about this guy to not get a taste. Yes I know he is fighting a monster and will have a height, reach, weight, power, and age disadvantage. But you look at his career (even amateurs) and he just might not know how to lose.

Not feeling as lucky

Heavyweight Vinny Maddalone (34-7, 25 KOs) needed just 82 seconds to get rid of Mike Sheppard (20-13-1, 9 KOs). Body shots did the damage.

i have donaire itd parred pretty good with some mma....but that 116.25 weigh in weight was worrisome..so i put a little on fight goes the distance at +320 as a hedge....

based on video i watched of narvaez,he looked like a relatively protected defensive fighter who got plenty of homecooking....but donaire looked pretty gaunt at the weigh in...

max kellerman is an asshole....he came into this fight with a preformed opinion....narvaez is surviving...period.....

many, many good fighters could survive if that`s all they want to do....

you have to punch to win,max....not just keep your hands pinned to your ears...

another losing proposition for boxing....
