Yep Paul, agreed

Yep Paul, agreed

The problem I see with this Graham, is that more and more people are being turned off boxing by the political bullshit and there is now another game in town with MMA.

Broadly speaking, Paul, you are right. I think there are a number of reasons why boxing is losing/has lost much of its popularity, but there is the prevalent feeling in the public mind that boxing is a crooked sport. Decisions such as the one in Germany today don't help.

For a long time I have never revealed I am into boxing when I first meet new people, at least not till I get to them better, because I am so tired of the usual reaction: "Of course, it's all fixed, isn't it?"

Of all the sports in the history of the world, no sport has been as consistent in shooting itself in the foot as the sport of boxing.

Thanks for your take on the fight Brainiac
Since the fight was in Germany, I thought you might have seen it
This was simply the worst...EVER

...players wonder why I dont offer or bet some of those fights. I like money..

I was even hard pressed with Mccall last night, and the Azteca, Telemundo and VERSUS bouts are just as bad...ref and judging incompetance isnt just to Europe... :nono:

and mma is just as bad..there is NO consistency at all in MMA judging.... but its not uncommon for live and TV to look much diff and for 2 guys to legit see a diff fight in MMA.

Fair enough
thanks for the response
and yes, this happens in MMA a lot as well
two immediately come to mind this year:
Tibau vs. Guillard
Cantwell vs. Stann 3
both horrible decisions - occurred on undercards and nobody saw them
but I lost money on both
I have to say, though, today's Botha decision was
the WORST OF ALL TIME
ALL TIME
ALL TIME
ALL TIME

Boxing is a rough sport, and gambling on it can be ever rougher
I can take the losses - I have no problem being wrong
When Mosley beat Margarito, or yesterday, when Rhodes KO'ed Moore, I was simply on the wrong side - I backed the wrong horse.
I can take that.
But twice this year I have been FUKED so hard.
Martinez-Cintron (when Kermie got KO'ed, they let him rest, then re-started the bout !)
and today with the Carrion-Botha debacle.
Oh, and don't even get me started on Joe Cortez and the Soto-Lorenzo fight.
Only in boxing - those 3 judges in Germany have to be the only 3 people ON THE PLANET that thinks Botha won.

Unconfirmed but I read Rojas won a UD over Mbamba. Fight wasn't close. Had that wager to begin with but decided to scalp and take a 75.00 profit. Let's go Cruz!

Yep, Rojas won widely

I had it 118-108 in favour of Rojas, He had Mbamba down twice (second time, late in the 11th, he sort of push-punched him over but the first knockdown was from a clean right hook high on the head in the third). ... Rojas boxed really well. He had Mbamba swinging and missing all night. Mexican TV had it 120-106.

As long as PPV numbers do as well as they have been and seats are filled by diehards, boxing will remain the depraved sport it's always been. Either accept it or drop it, but no one gives a rats rear end how the fans feel. Think about it. Not to sound like a stiff pr**k, but do you really think the Bob Arum's of the world really care??? Boxing fans are the biggest bunch of saps going, me included.

edit
Disregard my former post, i stayed up til 5 o'clock and waked up tired as **** :dizzy:
I actually agree with everything you stated.:iagree:
Boxing is the only sport that shoot itself continually in the foot, and , you nailed it on the head, fans just don't seem to care.
They keep ordering PPVS from the same crooks who ripped them off last week.

For Gamblers like us, the only solution is to bet the rounds instead of the winner.

I had a good day yesterday because before placing my big bet on Rua at +380 i gave a look at the over/ under and liked what i saw ( 2.5 rds with the over at -120).(http://www.madjacksports.com/forum/showthread.php?t=377394&page=4)
Having learned my lesson from last week with Dirrell, i choose the more likely win and only played Rua small.

It becomes increasingly difficult nowadays to get a fair decision vs undefeated guys.

hmmmm maybe we miss something e.g. a special rule or so but I never heard of any...

@All
Do you have any idea what is going on?

As I totally agree with zerwas something looks fishy here...

btw. Adamek at -200:scared

I found this on other forum:
"Little betting tip- both fighters are getting 66% of the commercials that will take between rounds. I assume both will want to make it last a while. Adamek wins but if both have this set to make cash dont be shocked if its a draw.. I just dont see golota lasting this long."
This is from a guy who claims working in Adamek corner for his US fights.
Probably this is a reason for a flow of money on draw.

Funy thing is that I had 2 bets on Rojas. First a few weeks ago before the fight was postponed and the second on friday. Second bet is graded as a win and the first one is still pending.
