I'm on Raul Garcia BIG. Unless I'm missing something, this sort of looks like a mismatch...on paper. Garcia in with the MUCH better comp and winning while De la Rosa has struggled mightily with VERY weak opposition.

boxingscene.com report from Russia

boxingscene.com report from Russia

Italia-based "El Salsero Cubano" Brunet Zamora (20-0-1, 9 KOs) was very lucky to keep his undefeated record intact with a highly controversial majority draw against up-and-coming Russian prospect Denis Shafikov (25-0-1, 14 KOs). It was an entertaining affair with a great intrinsical tension, chess-like boxing tactics and heated exchanges in the centre of the ring as well as at the ropes, but the final outcome was at least dubious as local fighter seemed to be a definite winner of the contest.

The final outcome came as a shocker for local publics. Judges Mickey Vann (United Kingdom) and Ove Ovesen (Denmark) had it a dubious draw - 114-114, while
the third judge Torben Seemann Hansen (Denmark) astonishingly saw the fight in favor of Zamora - 113-115. BoxingScene (as well as a majority of local observers and experts) scored it quite opposite: 117-112 - for upset Shafikov, who has also maintained his undefeated record but suffered his first blemish at the same time.

I agree Romi, and am on Garcia big with you. This line is much closer than I anticipated, so much closer in fact, that it makes me nervous. There is nothing at all on De la Rosa's record to indicate that he is on the same level with Garcia. Close calls with nobody's suggests the opposite. Homefield is a consideration, but even with that I saw this one @ like -1500 for Garcia. We'll see.

Anybody got any info. on the Zappa-Hoon Kim fight from Australia tomorrow? I saw odds on a couple euro books early on, but now those odds have been pulled? Is the fight not happening? It's still listed on Boxrec. Maybe their waiting to get a look at the guys at the weigh-in??

Majority decision win for Decarie 97-93 95-95 96-94

BIG round 10 for Garcia. He hurt Decarie with a big right hand but Decarie managed to survive the round

sounded like a hometown decision from ringside calls
