Flyweight Title on Tuesday in Japan.

Cordoba and Moreno both return in Panama Friday.
SKY has Cleverly vs. Fry Friday. Rogan vs. Sexton has been postponed till November.

Another Top Rank PPV Saturday with JuanMa and Gamboa showcased. Solis vs. Oquendo should be interesting.
Nishioka and Linares headline in Tokyo Saturday.
Izzy Vasquez returns in L.A.
Boystov and the chicks in Germany Saturday afternoon.

Finally, Guerrero in Maryland (they are keeping this kid busy) in what I consider a pretty big step up - Ossie Duran. Let's see how Fernando does.

nothing major, but a decent number of interesting fights...so we can expect some decent betting opportunities.

It's never good when a diminished fighter enters the MMA domain. I predict he'll have his ankle twisted about 45 seconds into the bout. :mj07: :mj07: :142smilie :142smilie

Denkaosen keeps WBA 112lb belt

WBA flyweight champ Denkaosen Kaowichit (48-1-1, 20 KOs), 112, Thailand, successfully retained his belt as he cleverly kept his distance to batter the belly of 20-year-old Japanese challenger Daiki Kameda (15-2, 11 KOs), 112, throughout the contest and withstood the youngster?s retaliation down the stretch to be awarded a majority but well-received decision (115-113 twice and 114-114) over twelve monotonous rounds on Tuesday in Osaka, Japan. The 33-year-old Thai veteran registered his second defense since he dethroned Takefumi Sakata via pulverizing second-round demolition in Japan last December.

DAMN, I was looking forward to Frez/Solis and just read that Frez pulled out. Was hoping for some decent odds on Solis   . Looks to me like Solis is being avoided.

Damn it!! That was the best fight of the weekend. The Olusegan fight also fell thru. Not too many 'close' fights left.

Monte Barret gets the call. Not a bad replacement but Frez would have been a much tougher and better fight. Solis is a good, obviously very well schooled fighter but that crazy weight he carries is going to cost him at the elite level. He seems to have the same arrogant attitude that Jorge Luis Gonzales had a few yrs back and that guy quickly had that smirk knocked off his face by Bowe. Solis could be a factorin the div but not at 250 lbs.

I just recently watched Solis vs. Haye (as amateurs)! Good fight, Solis looked much better back then...

I never saw him fight as an amateur but he was a standout @ 200. He has a ko win over the highly regarded Alexeev.

It's on youtube, highly entertaining fight! :0corn

BTW, sometimes I'm wondering if it wouldnt be for the best, if the pros would only fight 6 rounds!
In a 12 round fight, youve got to pace yourself, but in a 4 or 6 round fight you can really go for broke...

Solis is an enigma for sure. I don't know what to make of him. His competition has gotten progressively easier, and I mean right from the first fight forward. When he ko'd that Mazikin in :30, a big Ukrainian with a solid amateur background, I thought he was something special. But 9 rounds with Chauncy Welliver, 8 with Burnett...it seems Odlanier has gotten lazy. I thought that a rejuvinated Frez had a great chance to get the win, but it may be that, when pushed, the Cuban has got the goods. Not sure if the Barrett fight will tell. If he has a struggle with Barrett then its a red flag.

With this fight cancelled, I'm not sure which fights to go with. It looks like parlay city.

Carlos Nascimento (24-1) vs. Pawel Wolak (24-1)

Carlos Nascimento (24-1) vs. Pawel Wolak (24-1)

I have seen Pawel Wolak fight about 3 times and he is a high volume mauler.

Does anyone know anything about Carlos Nascimento or seen him fight?

I don't know much about Nascimento.
But I do remember Wolak going crazing after the decision and acting like he was robbed against Ishe Smith (in what was a very close fight). He was making a big stink about nothing.

Yep I remember that fight was amusing. He was expecting the home town decision after Ishe outboxed him very nicely.

My plays so far...

My plays so far...

Juan Manuel Lopez Under 7.5 -160- Large
Mtagwa's style is perfect for Lopez to take advantage of. This fight is going to be like watching a demolition derby. Lopez stops Mtagwa's motor within 6 rounds.

Solis Under 8.5 -135- Small
I would put more on this if I knew Solis was in the mid 240's, but Solis has not been in good shape since the amatuers. With Barret's age, poor chin, and taking the fight on short notice, I see Solis winning by knock out anytime he wants to.

Wish there were more lines like fridays Panamian fights, Vazquez, Guerrero, and Boystov, but I can't find much.

Good Luck Guys!:)

This is the email I received from Gangkor Promotions on Tuesday of this week re Dan vs Olusegun: "The fight is postponed for a few weeks....date to be confirmed in the next few days!"

I will try to find out more tomorrow (Thursday). It is not completely unknown for BoxRec to carry fights on its schedule that never actually take place.
