They will BOTH break their respective hands, and Calzaghe will patty-cake his way to a decision win.

If I were a Kessler backer I would be much more worried about the location and promotion of the fight than I would an injury to his hand

........

........

There is no injury to the hand so I agree. Also someone mentioned in this thread that Kessler has never fought anyone with any real speed? That's incorrect. Anthony Mundine is arguably faster than Calzaghe.

and zab judah is arguably faster than floyd mayweather on any given day.......

one problem....he ain`t floyd mayweather.....

and mundine....who`s focus and heart have been the subject of much speculation....ain`t calzaghe....

i am a kessler fan.....but i just wasn`t impressed with his power vs andrade...i don`t think he`s the puncher he`s purported to be....he seems more of a "wear you down" kind of guy....he uses that jab alot....and that just may be negated vs an equally tall, slick lefty...

btw...i`d love to see danny green retire tarver.....i hope you guys are right about green and tarver...cause i hate tarver....and anyway,is this even happening?....boxrec has green fighting stipe drews in december....

Hmmmm, nowhere did I say Mundine=Calzaghe. What I did say is Mundine is an exceptionally fast fighter. Anyone who thinks otherwise hasn't seen the guy fight. Kessler handled Mundines speed. He lost a few rounds but he got the job done against the 3rd best guy in the division. If Calzaghe beats Kessler it won't just be because he has fast hands, or because Kessler has never fought anyone fast. If being fast means you beat kessler he would have already lost.

3rd best?....i thought that sven ottke was on the comeback trail..:D

i don`t think we disagree all that much...i just think that calzaghe presents a whole different set of problems...

the lefty stance...the ability to adjust....that home court...

and mental toughness....something that i think isn`t a constant with mundine....

a toss-up fight with the home court pushing the odds,imo......calzaghe can cement his legacy with a big win here..

hey gardenweasel

you stuck in the past but the future is coming and it comes big time

both Kessler and Cotto will beat the old dogs

What about Brock coming in 15 pounds heavier
Chambers by dec i think.
In the beginning i liked Brock at plus money but at this weight no thanks.

No we don't really disagree. I agree with this post. I just thought it was very inaccurate to say Mundine is not fast. If there is something that Mundine has it's speed. ANyways, this is a very hard fight to predict. I have seen a good bit of Kessler and he is just very skilled. I think his right hand is the key to the fight for him if he wants to win. he needs to keep Joe at distance and nail him on the way in with his right hand.

calzaghe had better lose that "slappy" stuff in this one.....i don`t recall calzaghe fighting someone that`s actually a tad taller than himself(someone that`s dangerous...i.e..not mario veit).....

i lean chambers by deciosion....but,i`m not sure if it`s 10 or 12......it`s an eliminator,so it has to be 12......

this is a step up for chambers,though...can he be quick and slick for a full 12?.....vs a proven guy who, albeit isn`t exzactly busy, but he has talent and punches better than chambers....

really interesting, competitive fights...even juarez has a puncher`s chance vs marquez if he pushes the envelope a little......
