I thought that was an exceptional performance by Dawson. Fluid as can be, great reflexes, movement, good power. The next time he fights somebody remind me how good he is. Beating Adamek handily is a pretty good indicator. After that, I don't think I could bet against him with any potential opponent - and that includes every one in the super six tourney.

Dawson by Decision -220- Medium- WIN
I think this fight will play out a lot like Dawson's rematch with Tarver: same result with less drama. Dawson will fight a smarter fight than last time where he went all out in the first couple rounds looking for the knockout and then got tired by the end of the fight. Remember before he fought Johnson he was coming of two good knock out wins and had a lot of hype behind him. Now he paces himself better and even takes rounds off when he is way ahead in a fight. Johnson is a warrior, but at close to 41 and over 400 professional rounds (many of them wars) I see him coming up short here.

Btw, I was watching Harry Joe Yorgey fights and I noticed he always dips down low when fighters rush attack him. This style might fit in perfect for Angulo who throws a lot of body punches. Angulo will throw some body punches that just might hit Yorgery on the chin if Angulo times it right. Also, for Yorgey being known as a slick boxer, his footwork is really just average. The only thing he does above average is move his head well. If the odds were better I would play the under, but at 7.5-205 it is not worth it.

Scores were 115-113, 115-113, 117-111 for Dawson. Not to complain but I think the two 115-113 scores were off, but at least they got the right guy. I had it more 118-110 or 117-111, but who cares Dawson controlled the fight for an easy win.

Angulo looked good. Man he has TNT in his punches and a great chin. He is using his jab better and cut off the ring better. Yorgey hit him with some clean shots, but he is so relaxed it just doesn't faze him. He is going to have trouble with boxers with quick footwork, but then again most if not all plodders do.

Good week guys. :)

Does anybody have details on how the Helanas/bidenko fight transpired? I know the outcome. Just wondering if it was competitive and if anyone has details on how Helanas looked. Much appreciated!

Helenius dominated with a good jab, and he was steady and purposeful but Ian Darke described him as "a bit stiff and robotic" in the Sky commentary, which seemed fair comment... Helenius was much too big and strong for Bidenko, backed him up, belaboured him with right hands and at one point had him under pressure on the ropes... Bidenko was badly cut over the right eye in the third to cause the fight to be stopped at the end of the round. The cut probably did Bidenko a favour because he was starting to get hurt. Sadly, Bidenko looked like a "shot" fighter after the pounding he took from Boytsov; Bidenko looked MUCH smaller than Helenius and he couldn't do a thing with the Nordic Nightmare.

Thx for the response Graham! Helenius has a tough order taking on Brewster in a few weeks. Pretty big fight for the young prospect. If Brewster has something left in the tank, it could be a long night for him. Odds will be interesting..

I thought Helenius looked solid, IMO fightwriter is spot on. Helenius isnt flashy but he is one of those guys who gets it done. Goood game plan and he seems to be very self confident.
Brewster is beatable, but I wouldnt call Helenius slick, so maybe Brewster can catch him.

Thx Zerwas. Hopefully I'll find some footage of the guy on youtube. The Brewster fight should be a good barometer for the young kid.
