Maybe if Joppy wins this one, they can match him with Echols - in Rhode Island or Virginia - the two states on the planet where boxers are allowed to fight even when they don't remember their own name.

good week!!

Some European bookies already have a line on the Green vs. Johnsson fight.
Johnsson is currently between -200 and -160!
Good line IMO!

Thats a surprise!!
IMO Green should hope that Johnsson cant deal with the weight loss, but Johnsson seemed very comfortable with it in recent interviews.

Johnsson has been losing some fights lately, but only to the best and he has been very competetive throughout.

Green probably wanst competetive in a single round vs Ward and barely won against Simms!

I think the line is accurate, considering Johnson's age and the fact that he is coming down. It's a big deal, those few extra pounds at his age.

Also, I am a bit uneasy betting on a fight where, during the conference call last week, all they did was kiss each other's asses and say what close friends they are.

Both these guys, in recent fights, haven't done enough and have had excuses after the fact.

Like Romi stated last week, Kiko Martinez got injured and is out for Saturday in Ireland.

Last minute replacement is an all Irish cracker:
Paul Hyland vs. Willie Casey.

The Monday ESPN card is a Goosen card - I remember ESPN doing this last year as well. I think it might be the once a year military card from Camp Lejuene, North Carolina.

Sort of a fight for the troops card - Litzau was on it last November.

Nice to have boxing back in full swing soon !

Abraham on Dirrell:

"When a man doesn't want to box, he has 1000 excuses. Now that he is done with boxing, he should go to Hollywood"

I totally disagree with Abraham on one thing - if you watch the Fight Camp 360, Dirrell could never pull off acting in a film. Did you see him explain his injury?

"ummmm, we saw the family doctor.....I can't recall his name.....ummmmm.....symptoms?....I had them....probably.....3 days ago?...."

"We need a lawyer present for any further questioning...."

What is he on trial? Damn, man. You are a pro boxer. Get over yourself. And then the next word out of his brother's mouth is about getting paid.

Result from this last weekend:

Absolute novice Andres Gorges beats Lanardo Tyner via dominating 8 round dec.

I think it was Romi who asked this question after Tyner's last fight, a draw with 20-20 Christian Favela...and not to bring a nightmare up from the past...but how in the hell did Antwone Smith lose to this guy?? I know a lot of us had Smith big in parlays. After these performances, it seems that even a Smith at half speed would have been too much for Tyner. Smith must have REALLY fallen off for this one... Actually I see that Antwone Smith is in action this coming weekend, against 13-26 Martinus Clay. Let's see if he can get past him... movin' on.

Nice week lined up in front of us boys!

I saw the result earlier. Go figure that one. You have to think that smith was really sick when they fought. That was my worst loss on the yr...about 4-5 k. It was wide chalk but it looked like a "sure" thing at the time. If you play big chalk long enough, you WILL eventually get bit. Can't say I learned my lesson. Still I think Smith was a SOLID parlay play at the time. Can't take too many of those kind of losses in a single year.
