i was hoping you'd pick fernando, since he's my favorite fighter i'd like to know why you think he take sugar?

Strictly a value play, Shane looked horrible in his last fight and Vargas will be ready

"the bunker"
you could throw the takuyama over in there to get better than even money.....

of course, three plays might be pushing your luck....

i played navarro very small at +125...he`s not gonna get any breaks over there, that`s for sure...i read he was absolutely robbed vs kawashima...

"" In that regard, 2005 began on a down note when Jose Navarro challenged Katsushige Kawashima for the WBC 115-pound crown. Navarro cut Kawashima above the right eye and dominated the fight. After round six, the ring doctor visited the champion's corner to determine if he was fit to continue. At fight's end, Kawashima was drenched in his own blood. Judge William Boodhoo of Canada scored the bout 120-109 for Navarro. But Gelasio Perez of Mexico (115-114) and Noparat Sricharoen of Thailand (115-113) gave the nod to Kawashima. Navarro out-landed Kawashima 530 to 252.

"I haven't even written 2005 on a piece of paper yet," DiBella said hours after the fight, "and the filth of this business has already sullied the year. Jose did everything but knock Kawashima out, and he was robbed. The damage done by a decision like this to a kid like Jose is immeasurable, emotionally and financially. Decisions like this, which are condoned and sometimes encouraged by the world sanctioning organizations, are destroying the sport."

He was robbed against Kawashima, Tokuyama is a much different fighter than Kawashima though. Kawashima is a sloppy brawler, Tokuyama is a boxer who is a pain in the ass to fight. He uses his long arms and height advantage very well.

Lazcano-Tackie over 9.5 -375...to win .25

This line has dropped too low, the oddsmakers were right in opening this at -400 or more and the early money was all on the over, moved to -440 and then -470 very quikly at pinnacle before slowly dropping to the extreme low you see now. Under bettors are taking a shot at the big plus money due to Lazcano's power but Tackie won't budge. Tackie has been at 140 for 6 years, Lazcano has fought twice at this weight, once against a complete scrub, and the other it took him 9 rounds to stop the glass jawed Courtney Burtan who couldn't take a punch at 135. Tackie has gone 12 with Hatton and Tzsyu at 140, Lazcano stepping up from 135 shouldn't faze Tackie.

Noticed you have Vargas small. Any thoughts on i-t-d vs by decision plays? Vargas i-t-d..Mosley decision possibly

Don't want to hijack BL's thread and make it only Vargas vs Mosley...but found this take that De La Hoya had on the fight...just wondering what the resident boxing experts here at MJs take is

DE LA HOYA'S REPORT CARD
Fernando Vargas vs. Shane Mosley
HBO PPV Saturday 9 p.m. ET
Mandalay Bay
Las Vegas

Oscar De La Hoya, whose company is co-promoting the junior middleweight showdown between Fernando Vargas and Shane Mosley at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas on Saturday night, fought Vargas in 2002 and faced Mosley in 2000 and again 2003. Who better to provide a report card on both men? Here is who De La Hoya gives the edge to in the following categories:
? Jab: Mosley
? Right hand: Mosley
? Left hook: Vargas
? Power: Vargas
? Speed: Mosley
? Defense: Even
? Ring smarts: Mosley
? Heart: Even
? Experience: Even

De La Hoya's pick: Mosley via late knockout

Oscar SWORE Hopkins would whack Taylor. Not too sure about Oscar's motive here. At any rate, Vargas is damaged goods, as is Shane to some degree. Vargas has MANY bad habits in and out. Mosley, at least, lives a clean life off duty. Mosley by KO or UD. I already have my KO bet in. I just see Fernando gettin VERY SLEEPY as it grinds on.

Diaz by 10 round decision +375...lay .1 to win .35

Available at 5dimes but the line is now +250...allow me to explain

About 30 minutes ago I played this prop knowing there was a chance the lines were reversed and that the wager might be refunded. But I just checked again and while line has dropped its still on the board and shows no sign of being a mistake. With Diaz being a 2.5 to 1 favorite and the over 9.5 being a 2.5 to 1 favorite, there is huge value with big plus on a Diaz 10 round decision. And yes the play still has value at +250, I played it agian myself.

Put all the overs Frank/Tackie/Skelton/Navarro in a parlay...1 units to win 2.5

I figure if i win the 1st three I can hedge a bit with the Navarro under on Sun.

Hope the plays hit for all and once again thanks for the great work boxlocks
