Personally I think you can have smart money on both sides of a fight. To me smart money is the money that gets the best number. With lots of dead money that takes bad numbers while driving certain numbers up. Those people are taking bad numbers and are going to lose over time. There's a difference between a bad bet and a losing bet, numerically anyways. If someone had the Zuniga over at say -200, that was a bad bet and losing bet though. I am not sure what the over started at but we will say -130. If you had -130 on the over it wasn't a bad bet, just a losing 1. Lots of different people have different opinion on what is smart money and what isn't though. Smart money to me is also someone who wins long term but even so they typically do it by getting close to the best numbers.

Damn, I guess my over bet was a bad one and a losing one....
I should have taken into account Zuniga's purchase-ability.

Keep in mind my post is also in general. If you get the best number more times than not you are still doing good. Nobody can forecast EVERY number correctly though.

"the bunker"
it`s pretty simple...if sprott can stay erect,he has a shot......

at some point it`s likely that brewster plays whack-a-mole with him...but at over +3.50,it`s a small wager thats worth considering..

You guys just must be confident that Barrera is finished . Maybe he is- he was cut pretty bad in his last fight and was quite slow I hear. Just hard to put a whole pile on a guy who looked really wobbled by a jab, and then Prescott never seemed close to stopping his last oppoment that Soto wiped out in 3.

The chick fight in Germany, I understand they have some amateur history, with the dog ahead 3-2. Favorite's got Sauerland-Germany in her pocket though and it should't be 5 to 1 but Skovgaard will likely have to win quite decisively to get the nod. Worth a tickle , the dog is prideful and game.

i have some money on the danish women too but the amateur history is 3 to 2 in favor of the favorite. Still i believe this fight to be competitive with the favorite winning a close dec.
How people can bet huge money on khan is beyond me, Barrera can stop Kahn at any given moment with one shot. That is pretty scary to me even if it looks good for 7 rounds boom and kahn is in big trouble and Barrera knows this too.
Horrible fight for my nerves if i had big money on Khan.
Khan can and probably will win but my money is on Barrera inside at plus 350.
My advice for all the Khan betters get some Barrera inside as a hedge.

let's hope barrera doesn't fight scared from the get go

i'm guessin he's gonna show more balls than the pacquiao fight, cuz con is a lot greener than pac and he hasn't tasted con's power

my final hedge:

big on barrera 1-6.
i figure either barrera dusts him, or gets dominated through 6. at that point i can bet barrera live as a hedge at great odds.

i planned this so well, it just HAS to blow up in my face.

Incredible Week. A couple notes now that I've slept on it.

1. Abraham definitely is having trouble making 160. He was never really close to stopping the scrub Simon, who was game but extremely limited. King Arthur looked tired early and never really showed his explosive self. Don't know how much longer he can get down.

2. Maccarrinelli is officially a bust. WAY over-priced in this fight. If he was a smarter fighter, he would have backed off a little the last few rounds. He was clearly up on the cards. But he only fights one way - straight up and down, throwing power shots. Afolabi timed him perfectly and it was LIGHTS OUT.

3. Martinez/Cook went EXACTLY as Thong and Weepaul predicted. Both tough, one guy tougher, stronger, better. Nice call fellas.

4. Segura/Canchilla. You did get screwed Romi. I watched it back this morning. The bell rings. then Segura smacks him. The bell rings a second time. Then Segura smacks him again! The bell rings a third time. and Segura smashes him with one more !
That being said, I think Canchilla was going to get knocked out. and he didn't complain when it was stopped. Segura was on a mission last night. But the shots were clearly after the bell. Clearly.

5 Mijares going down was the SHOCKER for me. I started to wonder (as a few of us did) when I saw the photo of the opponent. Most of the accounts of this fight state that Mijares should have been awarded the decision.

6. Not sure what they are going to do with Brewster. It's not a good sign that he struggled with Batchelder and went the route with Sprott.
I'm afraid if Vitali wins next Saturday, they may feed him poor Lamon.

7. Finally - Khan vs. Barrera. Marco game as ever - but too old, too small, too slow, too bloody. All these things were predicted by guys here in some fashion. They better be selective with Khan's future. There are some guys out there that would tear this kid apart. Imagine Khan/Valero? Khan/JMM?

But on this night, perfect match-making by Frank Warrren.

On to next week.

The books cleaned this weekend on three big favs- Abraham barely winning vs a 1.04 oponnent, Mijares and Macca losing to similar odds.

One could hardly find any info on these three oponnents. The books did their jobs well.

The Khan fight ending in a technical dec was a big break for the books as well.

here's the segura vid: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Olm6QL0Nu3k&eurl=

that was really shady, and more likely corrupt. i won on segura, but canchilla backers have a right to be pissed as hell.

if canchilla's camp protests, it could be overturned to a NC, but that wont mean much to the books.

hopefully a 3rd bout on neutral ground

Thx for the link...now I'm even more pissed than i was last night:) The blows CLEARLY came after the bell. BOTH fighters heard the bell. Segura landed a good shot, paused then saw that the ref wasn't doing anything so he teed off on Canchilla who then had his hands down...then the fcking ref stops the fight about 10 secs past the bell. Could that bullsht happen anywhere else??? Perhaps Segura would have stopped him but he was taking shots, getting a little gassed and his left eye was swelling. I think Canchilla still had some fight in him and had a very good chance at winning. Another note to boot. I heard through the grapevine that Margos infamous trainer was in Seguras corner and those shots were hurting Canchilla A LOT....coincidence? I can't wait for Segura to step up against a sharpshooting counterpuncher. Segura will get waxed.
