Whew!

Whew!

I got Beltran early at -330. Beltran was really lucky to win. My scorecard he only won 5 rounds tops. But I would rather be lucky with the winning, than losing with the pick that should of won which was Miguel Roman tonight. Tough fight to score though; ther was lots of back and forth action.

Still nothing on Abregu - that's the big closer for Friday night.

Tomorrow could be huge. Let's go Abregu !

Result from Canada:

Ruiz decisions Martinez

In a clenched filled contest at Casino Rama in Orillia Ontario, Heriberto Ruiz (41-7-2, 23 KOs) won a 115-113, 117-111, 116-112 unanimous decision over former world champion Mauricio Martinez (35-9-1, 23 KOs) of Panama. Ruiz who was cut over his right eye in the later rounds captures the IBF Intercontinental Junior Featherweight Title. With the victory, Ruiz gets a shot at former IBF champ Steve Molitor who was watching at ringside for the number one spot in the IBF on June 26th.

can't believe this was an eliminator! Terrible.

Argentina fights might take a while for the update. I have waited until the next day for these a few times.

At another forum it was reported that Cuenca won by unanimous decision.

Excellent Graham. Thanks very much. That was my lean on the fight, but I didn't feel confident enough to put my money down.

Hope you and others won.
:toast:

OK Abregu by KO.....that is what I am hoping for!

Klitschko against Gomez should be fun tomorrow , lets see if Gomez can really take those bombs ... somehow I doubt he can ...

Good to see you here Brain
I took the odds on Gomez, but after seeing V. Klit at the weigh-in
I just don't see anyway Gomez can do it - as Kramden stated here earlier, this guy Vitali is a massive beast !

I think Gomez might be able to beat baby bro, though.

Sounds like some local shenanigans for Cuenca.
Notifght.com scored it clearly for the visitor.

Argentine C?sar Ren? "Fred Astaire" Cuenca points won by a controversial unanimous decision over Puerto Rican Alex "El Pollo" De Jesus in a battle for the title of Latin Welter junior World Boxing Organization held Friday night at Home, Buenos Aires, Argentina. Cards 116-112, 117-113 and 118-115 seem too generous with the local. The visitors showed more power in his punches and at times slowed Basin legs with blows to the chin. "Fred Astaire" seemed to confuse and control "El Pollo" between the third and sixth assault, but the Puerto Rican was able to make a major difference in the second half of the battle. But the judges, of Argentina, Uruguay and Brazil were winning by comfortable margins andalusia local. 116-112 NotiFight.com saw the crash to De Jesus. With this victory, improving his record to Cuenca 36-0-0-1 sd, with 1 knockout, and emerges to fight for the crown of the world's OMB.

As Gomez fights out of Germany they have shown a lot of his fights on TV and IMO this guy is very overrated . His whole career is based on beating ''nobodys'' and washed up fighters like Virchis and Oliver McCall who was like 50 yo last time Gomez UD'ed him . Vitali looks in shape and this spells big trouble for Gomez .

Still awaiting the Abregu result from Argentina.
My Plays for Saturday, 3/21:

Flores/Cordoba parlay LARGE
Flores/Cordoba/R. Garcia parlay LARGE

As much as I can't stand Flores, he should dust Herrera. Cordoba, as we have discussed, seems just too good for Dunne. And Garcia is fighting Ronald Barrera in a rematch in Mexico. The first fight was a wide UD.

Flores under 7.5 MEDIUM
R. Garcia over 9.5 MEDIUM
Cordoba under 9.5 MEDIUM

Sheika SMALL
Sheika KO SMALL
JC Gomez SMALL (don't blame you Vitali KO guys one bit...looks like the most likely result. but I'm going to ride my doggy bet out).

Not going to play the Lujan fight....can't find enough info on the opponent Navarro.
Still upset at Batchelder pulling out against Ustinov - would have been money in the bank.

Good luck crew.

"the bunker"
saw the first few rounds of beltran/roman and was absolutely convinced beltran was toast.....

nice to steal one for a change...if the last 6 were anything like the first 6,the judges should be ashamed of themselves...

beltran looked like he needed a b-12 shot...

btw...welcome brainiac...i`m sphincter from the other site....nice to see you weigh in...

of course klit looks like the winner today...i have a higher opinion of gomez than you do...but he did his best work at cruiser.....he has sneaky power, but is more of a counter puncher....not sure how he gets close enough to the uber-careful lil` klit to do damage...

i`ve always liiked the older klitschko better...not as much raw athletic ability..but smarter, with a better chin,imo..
