box i think judah has a shot here. To me cotto gets hit way to much. This is worth a shot. The hard part is wondering what Judah comes to fight. if its one just to collect a pay check then its trouble. I wonder if cotto starts banging his body a bit to much judah just wants to quit. Hopefully he comes to fight.

I thought the line opened way too high, it moved to -350/+250 later that night

I played Judah +350 on value, I think he has a good chance of hurting Cotto like Corely did (also a southpaw) and Judah hits much harder than Corely. Torres also had Cotto severly hurt, again Judah hits harder. Fight is in NY...Judah's back yard, and I thought Judah won the first half of the Mayweather fight. When motivated, Judah is one of the best in the game, great odds at +350

A motivated, FOCUSED Judah is scary. He is MUCH quicker than Cotto, and his straight left is dynamite. Again, not to be pendantic, but if he doesn't "play" as he said he sometimes does, he is a dangerous foe for Cotto. Good luck with your play box, et.al. Judah is so unpredictable, it is exasperating!

Sultan Ibragimov 221 vs Javier Mora 256.75

Sultan Ibragimov 221 vs Javier Mora 256.75

Originally I felt the over 6.5-110 was a real winner, but now I'm thinking about hedging my pick because of the weights. Sultan at 231.75 versus Ray Austin is much tamer than his in shape low 220's. Also, Mora is easy to hit and vunerable to knockdowns early (rounds 1-4). In addition, Mora is taking the fight on relatively short notice and should of been at the 232 when he fought Kirk Johnson if he wanted better stamina.

If anyone has an thoughts on the over/under 6.5, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Boxlocks on the Mudine/Soliman analysis. It's scary sometimes I think you're reading my mind.

Good Luck,

Matt

What do you mean either? I bet both of them. If they don't win it's your fault.

Done for the week...

Done for the week...

Made a nice profit here this week, for money management purposes I'm bailing out on the Ibragimov-Mora Over 6.5 -105, the Under is now +100 so there's no juice lost on the buyback

I made a sh*tload on Mundine last week, loaded up on Butterbean last night, and cashed in a dozen parlays with Klitschko today. No need to get greedy, always quit while you're ahead.

Btw, yes I did lay the -900 straight up on Butterbean last night...lol. Go back and look at the match-up, I couldn't pass up on the free money.

maybe i`m crazy...but i`ll take the +230 with acelino freitas vs baby bull diaz.....

in connecticut,not texas or arizona....

i`ve never been sold on diaz....i think he`s a highly protected, uber marketed guy....

maybe acelino`s over the hill...but he`s still far and away the best guy that diaz has ever faced.......

looking at diaz` record, lots of slowish deliberate one punch guys(suico/sim)...or lower exchelon fringe contenders like billy irwin...or old julian lorcy who`s been fighting for around 14 years in france?.....

i think freitas is quicker...and i think he might be able to time those baby bull swarms...

i look at the reumes, and it`s not even close...

freitas can fight....yes,theres the long layoff...

maybe he overwhelms freitas...but,i see this as a very dangerous fight for diaz...

freitas is the much better fighter....or at least was......but,what`s he have left in the tank?.....

i`ll take +230 to find out....

We're on the same page here, unfortunatly I played the opener at +200

I hear ya gw, and I didn't post the play for a reason

But before you dis-own me completely, go back and look at the guy he was fighting, this fight was over before it started.
A true showcase fight if there's ever been one

Good Bail out on the Over with Mora v. Sultan

Good Bail out on the Over with Mora v. Sultan

I only wish I would have too, But I still had a winning week with a Austin Under 8.5 -170 and Kotelnik over 10.5 -335 parlay so I can't complain.

Btw, Anyone watch the countdown to Barrera V. Marquez? I still like Barrera's experience in big fights but he has been in a lot of wars.

Thanks for a good week Boxlocks.

i never saw this guy fight and i hope i never do again. What a disgrace for a heavyweight. A couple left hooks that didn't even hit him on the jaw and it stops him? Not sure why Klitz didn't throw the right just once because he could have ended it quicker. This guy was there for a check after he got hit. Ref did a nice job also. I think he started the count at six. Maybe Klitz should fight that Kimbo character.

Operation Dumbo Drop: Butterbean Easily Defeats Joe Siciliano
By Geno McGahee (At Ringside)
Photos by Neil Vermette-March 11, 2007

The Worcester Palladium was jam-packed for a fight that was meaningless. The novelty of two obese warriors exchanging blows, the popularity of Butterbean, or perhaps the element of danger had brought these spectators. Despite all of the talk that Joe Siciliano, 4-4, 2 KO?s, was dishing out the public and press, he was out of his league. He had stated that he would destroy Butterbean, 77-7-4, 58 KO?s, but a quick poll of the press that attended could not disagree more. I had even heard that he was advised by his team to jab and move backward, but he is no Muhammad Ali and was sure to get leveled.

The main event began as a battle of bad 1980s songs with Europe?s ?Final Countdown? blaring for Siciliano and Queen?s ?We Will Rock You,? for Butterbean playing. The crowd was in an uproar as they saw these two rotund pugilists stare at each other. Butterbean weighing 417 ? pounds and Siciliano weighing 313 ? pounds, this was surely one of, if not the, most weight ever to grace a boxing ring.

When the bell rang, you could see the difference in class. Siciliano just wanted to hold and Butterbean nearly ended it with a left hook, sending his opponent into a momentary stupor. He seemed to be shocked that he was facing such an inept opponent and elected to take it easy on him. The power shots that Bean is known for were in reserve and he decided to just throw body shots at the delusional Siciliano. The body shots were enough to send Joe to the canvas for the first time in round one, but surprisingly, he survived and even celebrated that he would see round two.

In round two, the body-beating continued, as Bean toyed with his opponent. It reminded me of a father getting on his knees to fight his young son to make it even. He looked at Siciliano as such a far lesser that he was somewhat willing to allow him to do what he wanted and to make a show of it. The clubbing body shots that didn?t look particularly great were enough however to end this bout at 1:10 of the second round. I overheard the referee stating: ?What a disgrace!? That seemed to be the crowd?s opinion too as they booed their hometown boy loudly. What did they expect though? I know that Siciliano had been campaigning and stating to anyone that would listen that he was going to beat Butterbean. Perhaps the people allowed themselves to be fooled and when Bean weighed in so heavy, I?m sure that they expected the upset to be in the cards. That was just wishful thinking because Siciliano could not beat Butterbean if he had both of his arms cut off.
