Depends a lot on how serious and sober Mr. Pavlik is. I can't pick a winner here with strong conviction.

Good luck crew.

Is that rock solid proven info Ghost, that Pav has a drinking issue. I hate unconfirmed rumors, seems likes being a father and all, he has his stuff together and has never missed weight or shown any unprofessionalism. People saying him ducking Paul Williams is a joke, staph infections are no joke, you don't take care of em proper, you die, been there.

I hear ya punch. I spoke a little out of turn there.
I have no clear proof that Kelly was in rehab, just heard the same things everyone else has.

I'm a huge fan of Pavlik. I want him to win this fight. He made me HUGE money in both matches with JT. I even sport a TEAM PAVLIK hat on occasion (and I'm not a hat guy generally).

But when I think of where the kid grew up, combined with what a few people have "heard", it does make me wonder.

Do I think the rumors are true? My guess is yes.
Do I have proof? No, and I hope I'm wrong.

I heard Kelly in interviews this week, and I thought he sounded great. To me, he sounded ready to go and well prepared mentally.

But a long time friend of mine, a guy who has watched the fights for 50 years, turned to me after listening to the same interview and said
"Canned answers. Sounds like a guy repeating the 12 steps he just finished at the Sober House"

Top Rank will debut their new TRLivestream series today at 3pm EDT with the full weigh-in show from Atlantic City, culminating in middleweight champion Kelly Pavlik and challenger Sergio Martinez stepping on the scales. If you're at work or the like and can't watch, we'll have live updates from the weigh-in in the comments of this post.

Awesome
hope this is done more often
and by other companies
take not, you morons over at Golden Boy

No weight on Thompson Beck, Romi.
But here is my bets so far
Vassell LARGE
Gutknecht very small
If Vassell will lose, it will kill all my winnings for last two weeks.

I am considering Vassell for a future parlay
I like your confidence
have you seen a lot of both these fighters?
from the footage I am watching, Vassell is a good body puncher, and has good head movement.
But Purdy will have height and reach advantage.
How do you see this ending? decision? KO ?

To be honest with you I was confident in this pick but Quanah for some reason like Purdy, it kind of made me thinking.
I think Vassell will KO Purdy, but I don't like to bet on over/under. I don't do well with over/unders.

My bets for the week are-

St Juste to beat Miranda. St Juste can box and Miranda is dogshit with an inflated resume.

Gutknecht to beat Stieglitz. The odds should be even.

Pavlik to beat Martinez. If Martinez had good stamina, I would pick him but over the long hall, Pavlik takes him out.

Hedged Martinez to beat Pavlik on points at +300.
If Martinez does win, I can only see it on points.

I still think Miranda has a punchers chance against Bute but will leave it alone.

My two big bets are St Juste and Pavlik.

Good luck all!!! :toast: :toast: :toast:
