i rather watch the film, the village, again than this fight lol

That was a very bad film
but nothing was worse than this card tonight
the Hopkins-Jones fight, and the antics of both fighters within, just despicable stuff
con artists - robbing the public

best guy on the card was the black russian

how bout that rocky juarez?
finding new ways to blow fights still - this guy can tell his grand kids one day about the 25 title shots he lost and the night in April 2010 when he lost to a guy who slurs worse than meldrick taylor

way to go rocky
you are one of a kind

I gotta say this though
now that I have been extra hard on rocky

stopping that fight
at that point
for a cut that was WAY under the eye and in NO WAY hindering the eyesight at all

terrible
just terrible
Litzau's corner pulled a fast one

Guys
I will try to post some video tomorrow
too tired right now
but I just re-watched rnd 7 of Juarez-Litzau
at first I thought Rocky was just being a sore loser
but he was telling the truth
the cut under the eye was 1000% from a punch
leaping left hook that crashed on Litzau's left cheek
then they clinch
blood clearly starts after the punch, nothing else
in fact I didn't even see a headbutt
not sure what Jay Nady saw
Nady immediately jumps in, and you can see Juarez protesting (and you can here Rocky say "it was a punch")

Man
Rocky Juarez
this guy really is the definition of hard luck soldier
he is maddening to watch....but this time....he should have been awarded a TKO victory on cuts

Hopkins was taken to a local hospital after the fight, after Golden Boy CEO Richard Schaefer said he collapsed to his knees in the dressing room while trying to sit down onto a bench. Schaefer said he was able to recover quickly enough to reach the ambulance under his own power.

from boxrec forum:
"I heard that before he collapsed he was twittering. When he read about fans calling him a scam and a faker, he decided he needed to step it up a little and create a little more drama to prove to the fans that he left it all in the ring agains Jones. Luckily he recovered 2 seconds later."

Goddamn Nady! He was all over Juarez from rd 1...warning for everything...he had it in for him it appeared...the thing is, IF YOU DON'T see a clash of heads then DONT FUCKING CALL IT!!!! He obviously didn't see it if there wasn't one. We got shafted. That being said, Rocky rarely fights w/ a sense of urgency and he put himself in a position he didnt have to be in. The result kept me from having a monster week...:thefinger Jay Nady...the colonel thought it was lockridge in there...perhaps Nady thought it was Zab and he was getting even:mj07:

What was weird is the way Nady immediately ran in and said "STOP ! THAT WAS FROM A BUTT"

And at the time I was thinking what butt?
I thought I had missed it
later on, after the main event, i watched it over a few times

I'm not even sure where Nady got the idea it was a head clash from
You can see very clearly (I got it in HD)
it's a leaping left hook and the blood starts immediately

and Rocky very adamantly yells over at Nady
"It was a punch....it was a punch"

The cut was not even bad enough to stop the fight
but if the doctor (and corner) deemed it was, well then, they should overturn this and make it a ROCKY TKO victory

won't change betting tickets, but it would be the right thing to do

some replays, especially with headbutt situations, are tough to tell. This one was not tough at all. Boom. left hook. blood. cut cheek. from a big punch.

Good Week Guys!

Good Week Guys!

Ajose Olusegan vs Colin Lynes Under 9.5 +110 - Medium -WIN (Lucky Win)

Haye by KO/TKO/DQ -130 - Small - WIN (Well Deserved Win)

Litzau +400 - Small -WIN (Extremely Lucky Win)

Bernard Hopkins by KO - TKO - DQ +130 - Large- LOSS (Stupid Bet)

I feel hoodwinked or bamboozled for believeing the hype by Hopkins. I know Jones is shot, but Hopkins either didn't try to KO Jones or at 44/45 just can't put together a sustained effort to knock guys out. It was a stupid bet for me, but thanks to an extremely lucky Litzau win I had a decent week. Also, I was really impressed by the black ukraine fighter's body punching. I hope he gets more TV fights. In addition, Haye proved he can get a second wind which for me was still a question mark leading up to the fight.

Cheers to the crew!

:00x1

Let's get'em again next week!

Yep, taking Bhop to stop anyone was a stupid bet Matt. And I made the same stupid mistake. Sometimes you have to listen to your intuition rather than rational thought. My intuition was strong on Nard stinking out a dec win but I rationalized myself into believing that the KO was logical.

Nard is boxing's Barnum and Bailey. He faked with Calzaghe, Antwun Echols, Robert Allen I - in a fight he may have gotten beaten in. Made Syd Vanderpool weigh in the morning of the fight to gain an advantage when that wasn't standard practice.

And now yesterday with Jones. What would the boys in Graterford say about those antics.

He ducked Brian Barboza early on in his reign when he (Barboza) rolled Robert Allen and then fights guys like Bo James, washed up John David Jackson, Allen, who lost to Barboza, Simon Brown, Andrew Council. (If you boxrec this stuff it will corroborate it.) Ultimately, Barboza was the ultimate head case and f'd up on his own down the road - but he was a real dangerous cat for a about a year and a half and Bhop wanted no part of him at that time.

He is the ultimate flimflam artist. I think he's one of the greatest boxing manager's that ever lived based on how he's handled his own career. You can't make this stuff up.

I think u guys are being a little hard on Hopkins. I thought the fight was okay and better then the Pac/ Clottey or the recent Wvad fight. I don't know what he was supposed to do when Jones won't throw any punches. If feints were punches than Jones would have won each round 10-7. Sure there were some antics but i still didn't see a washed up Hopkins. Hopkins is a hard guy to like but i didn't think the fight was a total bore. And this time i can say this saying i had an excellent feed for a change. :142smilie Just my opinion.

Made the same dumb wager myself when I KNEW Hop made a career of stinking joints out. Yes RJ is shot but but a shot RJ is still better than Enrique Orneles. You hit the nail on the head with Hop...Crazy like a fox. Rumor has it that Easter is cancelled because someone took ALL the rabbits on the planet. Well Hop was using them all last night. Ali once said that he was the master of illusion but Hop took that title several years ago. I didn't buy the fight but I still feel like a kid at the carnival that lost his entire allowance to a carnie trying to win a stupid .50 prize. Sugar Ray Leonard pulled similar antics v Haglar and even Don Lalonde...forced Haglar to fight on a race track rather than a standard size ring and also made Marvin concede to 12rds for the only time in his career. Lalonde defended his light hvy title but had to weigh in at 168 :142smilie. Leonard made a circus show out of the sport but at least he never bored us to tears. Hop gets the last laugh here...laughing all the way to the bank and riding off into the sunset.

anyone know if rocky lockridge won his fight
:mj07: :mj07:

that was the best thing about yesterday's fight card

calling juarez lockridge and having him LOSE AGAIN in a fight he could have won easy

Jones didnt fight those guys just to avoid being knocked out. He didn't come to fight in this one. Also i thought the Green fight was a bogus stoppage.

Really? I've heard a few people say this about the Green fight - I thought Roy was on queer street. Why do people think it was a bad stoppage in Australia?

Doctors clear Hopkins

Shocking that the doctors would clear B-Hop after such a brutal encounter
