Doctors clear Hopkins
http://www.fightnews.com/?p=41990

Shocking that the doctors would clear B-Hop after such a brutal encounter

Nard is some piece O work. I think he strongly feigned all of the fouls he received. Made him look vary bad in my view.

Whether he was writhing in pain or completely acting, both don't bode well for him.

Hop is the epitome of the Boy who cried wolf. He pulled so much bullshit in the Zags fight it began to get comical. He got a love tap on the cup and you would think one of his nuts fell off. The thing is, you don't really know if he was faking it but based on prior antics I have to believe he was attempting to get a dq. Did not appear to be a hard shot to me but getting hit on the back of the head doesn't require getting punched hard to do damage. No sympathy from me though. Fight Haye and get KTFO or call it a day. The drama he creates is worse than a soap opera.

Yep, he's not only an ex con but a con artist.

Wish he did get the DQ the other night.:142smilie :mj07: He just didn't want to make that last final step to make it happen by saying he couldn't continue. He wanted the ref to take the bait and end things but he wouldn't do it. Nard just wouldn't go quite far enough. he understood it would be too damaging to go that route or perhaps he thought he could have been ruled a tko loser is if opted out. Some jurisdictions do that, right?

The "under" players and the Hopkins KO TKO DQ players needed Joe Cortez to have been the referee on Saturday. Tony Weeks wasn't buying Hopkins's act. The rule is that, in the case of a so-called accidental foul, if Hopkins declined to continue after a five-minute rest he would be declared loser by "abandonment" (retirement). Hopkins, savvy guy that he is, would have been well aware of this.

Right! Thanks for the clarification.

He would have been in treacherous waters if he verbally submitted or abandoned the fight. He sure looked like he wanted out to me. But had to reluctantly trudge forward to get his W. And he tried to pull the gag 2 more times.

I don't want to ever, ever see this guy again.

I had a lot on him, but I felt sorry for Roy in there. Nard hit him with full force in the nuts, he used his forehead as a bull all night and he provoked every rabbit punch by laying one of his own first.

I just wish we had more refs with balls this days. By the 6th round Nard would have been taken a point off. Weeks saw enough, but he didn't have guts to protect Roy.

GW said it best, I miss Miles Line.

Oh, and of course I didn't believe Nards antics on the canavas one bit. I felt ashmed for himself.

Well said. Nard was the one initiating the dirty stuff and despite Jones' paltry effort, he didn't feign injury.

Nard fights like he lives by a double standard - he can foul with impunity but every thing he catches back is a fight ending foul.
