"the bunker"
aside from homecourt,i just see it as a "style match-up sent from god" for kessler coming off the ward loss.....

i don`t think kessler himself could have picked a better style match-up....slower(hand and foot) stand-up fighter that keeps his hands low...

just my opinion...maybe froch can do what nobody`s done and knock out(not just stop) kessler...ward stopped kessler with work rate, not one or two big shots...

i just don`t see it from the guy that struggled mightily vs jermain taylor......

I alway's respect your opinions Romi but you have this one wrong I believe.
Garden hit the nail on the head with his above comment.

I think I was the only guy on Madjacks to pick Ward over Kessler and I picked him due to speed.

The only thing that beats Kessler is SPEED and the Caveman just doesn't have any.
Being tough is not going to get the job done in this fight.

Kessler wins and it will probably be ITD.

Kind of a tough fight to call. Kessler seems like he might have lost something. Froch is confident, busy and strong. For myself, I'll need to dig deeper on this one and then I still may pass.

I could imagine Kessler getting roughed up. he doesn't seem to like that.

And will Kessler's jab and straight right be enough to dissuade the awkward and willing Froch. Not so sure.

Best of luck to you Brother! You have done well on your BIG pics. I thought we got screwed in England when Dirrell did just enough to win but that's the breaks. I'm not sure if Kess is much/if any better than AD. Moot pt pretty much as styles do indeed make fights and perhaps you simply see something I don't. I'll probably pass. I'm not a big fan of Froch as I think he employs dirty tactics to win and he's had the homecourt to get away with it. He just seems to find a way and simply will his way to wins. Ill be interested to see Grahams take on this. :toast: :toast:

ESPN2 competing with the Berto-Estrada card.
Strange.

Take on Kessler-Froch

Take on Kessler-Froch

I picked Kessler in my preview in Boxing Monthly ... I agonised over this. ... Froch is one tough son of a gun with tons of confidence but he does get hit quite a lot and Kessler is precise. I was alarmed at how easily Jermain was finding Froch's chin with the right hand; Pascal landed some big shots and I thought Dirrell buckled Froch's legs with a left hand in the 10th ...

Very tough fight to call because Froch will never surrender and he can box better than people think; he jabbed beautifully to turn things around when the Pascal fight was looking as if it could go either way ...

On balance, I lean towards Kessler because I can't write him off on the basis of one admittedly very bad night, a nightmare of a fight against a very fast guy in Ward who I think was much stronger and hit harder than Kessler expected. It just wasn't Kessler's night. He never got started. I think he can regroup, get himself mentally and physically ready and win on the 24th with orthodox, solid, disciplined technique and straight punches. ... The Danish site should help Kessler. It didn't help Mads Larsen, true, but Larsen wasn't "right" ... he looked scared and fragile against Magee and he was ready to lose. I'm guessing that Kessler is made of sterner stuff than Mads.

Quintana is not feeling any pressure. He says the pressure is on Berto for a variety of reasons.

"The pressure is on Berto. He's the champion, and unbeaten, and has to defend the title. He is using me as just another opponent, but he made a mistake. I am well motivated and I expect to win the title," Quintana said.

Quintana has been fighting a junior middleweight in his recent outings, but he said the trip back down to 147-pounds has not been a struggle for him.

"One must work hard to get down in weight, but I've said in the past that whenever something will come about at 147, the motivation will be there to do it. Berto is big name, a world champion and a fight where if I beat him, it can get me bigger things in the future," Quintana said.

What do you guys think about Harrison vs Sprott. Odds are already posted so I think it is OK to discuss it.
I see clear winner in this one. I think Harrison will get it this time.
So what do you guys think?

Don't think he has to be perfect, just very good Mr.Dettloff.

:0corn :0corn

He's right on on the Bhop fiasco, though.

+700 was way too high a price to pass on. Berto may very well win this but he doesnt have the polish to be that big of a favorite over the likes of Quintana. If Berto doesnt get him out early then he's in for a rough night. Berto is nobody's heir apparent. He's a very good fighter with excellent speed and good pop but he's a smallish welter that can certainly be had. Collazo arguably beat him and I think Quintana might be a tad better than Collazo. And you are correct...Quintana doesn't need to be perfect, he just needs to be good. Berto is not the type of guy to get you out with 1 shot. I'll have a scalp option by fight time but no hedge for me...I think Quintana is live.

I agree with you Andrey.

I think Harisson is showing much better form lately although against less talented opposition. Sprott looks to be done. In his last fight he weighted 15 lbs more than 3 years ago when he upset Audley. I think this is a lot considering his frame (6 feet tall) and I think he has to be in tip-top shape to overcome his physical disadvantages in this matchup.

Having said all that I'm having a hard tame to persuade myself to put money on this nutcase. He already started to talk his old talk about world title.

Simms Bros arrested for fighting

Former WBA super welterweight champion Travis Simms (27-1, 20 KOs), now a local city councilman, and his twin brother Tarvis Simms (25-1, 11 KOs) have been reportedly arrested after getting into an ugly fight with each other over the weekend at Travis? home in Norwalk, CT. Both are facing third-degree assault charges.

Thanks for answer. The thing is, yesterday I watched Ustinov vs Sprott on yourtube and unfortunately Sprott looked not that bad. I also don't know if I place bet on Harrison or not but I definitely not betting on Sprott.

He's right on on the Bhop fiasco, though.

what makes me take the +500 wasn`t as much what quintana`s done as it was what berto did vs collazo( a lesser version of quintana) and his early struggles with little steve forbes....

if forbes were a little bigger and a few years younger, who knows?....

lets not forget quintana`s a guy who`s two losses were to a prime miguel cotto and maybe the best welter/jr middle/midlle in the world...and he has a nasty habit of upsetting undefeated fighters he`s not supposed to beat....

will he win?...well,he`s not supposed to,judging by the odds....but at 5-1,why the hell not...doesn`t cost much to find out...

So Maidana is going to fight Alexander....hmmmmmm.....

some guy on fightnews radio called in last week and said that, prior to the Maidana-Cayo fight, both Maidana and Cayo were forced to sign a contract that said the winner will NOT fight Amir Khan for 3 fights or 1 year, whichever comes first. I find this hard to believe. Is this true? Anyone else read this?
