Sauerland:

?I see no problem in asking for a non-Californian referee ? and that?s not just because it was guaranteed in the contract,? Sauerland said. I thought it was funny that Dan Goossen complained about the five-hour drive Ward had to take to come down to LA for this fight. But then again, if you are used to fighting at your protected home base, travelling 400 miles might seem like a huge inconvenience, so let?s not hold it against them. All the comments from their camp and the problems with the officials are a clear indication that they do not feel comfortable about fighting away from home, even though they are still in their home state. So it?s them who are losing confidence in their fighter, not us.?

And Sauerland added: ?King Arthur has travelled over 40,000 miles during the course of the tournament and he is ready for a big fight on Saturday night. Nobody will be able to protect Ward from Arthur?s power.?

I don't know if Abraham can win this fight, but I certainly agree with Sauerland on one thing. It's bullshit that Ward got to fight all 3 of his fights in the Super Six IN CALIFORNIA.

Sam Webb vs. Prince Arron

Sam Webb vs. Prince Arron

Anyone fancy Prince Arron @ +300 on this one? Webb is labeled as a pressure fighter, but against Concepcion in his last fight, he stayed on the outside. Arron stands 6'3" and fights as such unlike that other American who fights 147/154/160. Neither man can really crack, but it seems Arron's starting to find some power.

Totally agree. Was always suspicious of that.

"the bunker"
gonna play a little fast and loose here..two small wagers...

might take a shot with diaz at(edit...+225 the odds just tempt me)...rumor is that he didn`t really want this fight,so,that`s not encouraging....

both guys fringe types in a monster division at this point in their careers...diaz "fringier" than holt(that`s whhy he`s a substantial dog)...

one has been k.o.`ed 4 times...the other 3....

the reason i`ll roll the dice is the fact that i`ve seen holt go long periods in fights basically disappearing...and diaz is a decent technician when he keeps his chin tucked...i don`t see holt pressuring diaz ala juan diaz....should be a relatively slow paced technical fight...with the potential for an abrupt ending..particularly early...

and i might hedge with the under 7.5 at +150....

both guy`s chins can be had...diaz is talking about trying to finish....and i noticed that only one of holt`s stoppages has come as late as the 8th round...

i think that if holt can`t stop diaz by the 8th,it has a decent chance of going to the cards...and i think that diaz has a chance of out-working holt(who`s been involved in a number of split decisions in his career...and this is in california...edge diaz)....

sort of strange...i know holt has quicks and sudden power...but he only has 14 k.o.`s in 26 wins...and 11 of them came in 2004 or earlier....maybe he`s perceived as a bigger puncher than he actually is because his k.o.`s have sometimes been spectacular or conroversial?...

who knows...

anyhoo, small wagers...no biggie..having some good fortune in mma of late,so,wth.......throwing some shit against the wall just to have a little action...not playing these with any real conviction...both guys are a bit unpredictable...but this is a quality fight for an espn`er on a friday night...kind of a "loser gets out of town" kind of fight...crossroads...

g.l.,guys..

It's true, the pictures make them look like a different weight class. Pictures can be deceiving I guess?? Just 1lb difference between them.

Prince Arron

I'm on Arron sizeable @ +385. Arron is currently underrated because of some earlier unimpressive losses. The kid turned pro at 18 though, and was just a stick figure at the time. He's 23 now, has stuck with it, and is now learning how to use his 6-3 frame. Arron is a complex task for any normal sized JM. Good jab, and banging much harder as of late. I thought his prizefighter win was impressive, and he's looked good since.

Webb seems like a pretty solid fighter. Good side to side movement, quick enough, and seemingly good fighter's instinct. He has had a few close decision against 2nd and 3rd tier guys though. I think Arron's size and jab could make it difficult for Webb to get inside and work effectively.

The fight is in Webb's hometown, which of course is a factor. I think though, that Arron is on the upswing enough to pull it off.

Don't believe it. Made a small wager at Bodog and the line dropped from +300 to +280. Or maybe it is getting bet into more than expected. Good.

Zack Page just got screwed in an 8rd decision against English prospect Tom Dallas. That damn single ref score. Lewis calls it 78-76. Real score was 78-74 Page.

Dallas says he deserved win. Maloney is honest, says Dallas was 'lucky to win'.

Gotta like Zack Page. Consummate journeyman. He's now 21-35-2. Weighs 205 and gives big heavys problems. I understand he's picking up checks being a heavy opponent, but I'd like to see Page make a serious run at cruiser. He's shifty and lets his hands go pretty well.

Chris Arreola weighed in at 234 lbs.

Guy has been shaving his head all this time... I guess he got sick of the giant, fat, bald baby look.

Good for him.

That's what we've been wanting to see from him!

Nice to see he's taking himself seriously.

Here we go!

Let's go Arron!!!

RD1
Arron controls it with his jab. Boxes well at even pace. Webb lands one combination at end.

10-9 Arron
