Bayaar pure class in post fight interview
Sexton being a complete prick....says he did enough and the decision was bad....Sexton should thank his lucky stars for that draw

Bayaar acting like a champ after the fight - Sexton a spoiled brat

they do this shit on purpose in Europe...the UK books keep the money on the draws (as my friend Graham reminded me this week)
if you play at Euro books, YOU HAVE TO PLAY DRAWS
otherwise you are fuked
and the books keep all the money
is their any doubts Dave Parris bet the draw?
Guy is a thief in the night

^ what ghost said.

expect far less brit bout odds on my menu's..and in all fairness how can anyone blame me.

no ne could possibly have scored 6 legit rounds for sexton let alone 8.... and the euro books scoop ur money again on each fighter.

anyone that bets these bouts where the draw loses deserves to lose their money.

this happens week after week. at some point people have to learn.

DRAW is really is only sensible option to bet for rest of 2010 in UK at high odds. the euros had the mongolian at -8000 to win at one point late in the fight.

....imagine even betting on sexton at the +5000 carrot they dangled after the cut. just a horendous beat for anyone that bet the dog or bet where draw loses.

sorry guys

Looking for a link myself. I put a small play on Sexton. The guy is highly confident. Based on recent fights in England, it looks like all this kid has to do is survive 12 and he wins the fight by a wide margin...we'll soon see. I'll post a link if I find one.

If the fight isn't in England then I know that Ghost, myself, and Quanah do not place that wager. Venue is KEY. We got screwed last week in France and got a gift draw today....the draw wasn't an outright robbery as Sexton did clearly win the last 4. After what I saw, I'm more than happy w/the draw but I was hoping they would have been just a tad more corrupt :142smilie

Hi Ghost: I thought Sexton eked out two of the first 8 rounds and he clearly won the last 4. I didn't think a draw was outrageous ... Re Joey's comment on an earlier thread, I am convinced that the live betting odds often reflect the TV commentary, and Glenn McCrory at Sky Sports had Bayaar winning 7 of the first 8 rounds, which, I thought, was a stretch. Commentators quite often see a fight wrongly, as can we all ..... There were a couple of rounds in the first 8 where Sexton got his hands off fairly well while Bayaar was moving in without doing a lot of punching ... There are some odd scores in British boxing, yes, but nothing over there has been as outrageous as Lorenzo-Soto or Cintron-Martinez .... Yes, Ghost, at the Euro books you HAVE to play the draw as a safeguard. The draw is usually priced at +2500. ... There's no conspiracy regarding these scores, trust me on this, I think I know the British scene and I believe I know the mindset at the BBB of C, it's just that judges see fights differently (Look at the Cintron-Williams scores, one experienced American judge had it 40-36 one way, another 40-36 the other way.) ... What I DO think is that the crowd today could have been a factor in the scoring: they were going wild whenever Sexton landed anything. ... Dave Parris? Yes, Ghost, I have to agree that his scoring is suspect, but I think this simply makes him a bad judge, not a bent one.

Perhaps I should just thank my LUCKY stars and leave it at that. I didn't see the early rds but it appesars widely unanimous that Bayaar owned him and the draw was a disgraceful call.

That being said, is there any chance we can get Dave Paris on a plane to MSG ASAP :mj07:

just finished watching a supposedly 5`6" thomas mashaba vs 5`7" cruz on youtube and mashaba was the taller fighter....

i understand that given all the records that boxrec handles(and they do a wonderful job)some mistakes are made...

i`m just saying that it`s a good idea to double check things if you`re wagering a significant amount(hell, any amount...it`s your money) based on physicality or size and you aren`t totally familiar with the fighters...

Maybe I am reading SAFEGUARD too literally.

With all due respect... you would have to be a moron to do such a thing.

It's a bookmakers dream.

Anyone that bets draw as safeguard deseves to lose their money.

Look at it this way. Why pay insurance on a potential blackjack that pays +150 , before the hand is even dealt. That's what your doing. I can see maybe an in progress draw bet but before the bout even starts?

You either pass on betting fight all together or you bet the draw because you think the draw can win. Not to insure you dont get the short end of the stick.

The bout didnt cost me anything, but shame on me if I am going to deal something that consistently shows a level incompetence on the part of the judges that is not already factored into the number.

How many draws and bad decisions took place in the UK on Fridays in 2010 that left people scratching their heads. Sure it happens all over the world, but why not be disciplined and just pass on betting the bout all together. It was overpriced from the get go.

LESSON: In the end its not always about the good deals you make, but rather the bad deals you dont make. Apply that to betting and you will see passing on a fight is sometimes the smartest wager on the board.
