Any thoughts on the Roy Jones Jr fight in July .

Sure looks like Roy wants to win a fight after getting pounded
a few times.

The other guy is 34 and I doubt he can hurt Roy.

Thanks

As usual, Roy picked his opponent very carefully.

On paper it looks like Roy will be safe in this fight, but I have my doughts. Glen Johnson is not exactly a huge puncher but he knocked Jones out cold. In Roy's last fight with Tarver, his gameplan was to go 12 rounds without getting KO'd, and it worked b/c he avoided punches like the plague.

Roy has much less to worry about this time but I won't put money on him the rest of his career.
Ajuma is not great, but he's a decent skilled fighter.

Current line...Jones -530 / Ajuma +350

At those odds, the dog is the only option

Tokarev stopped Cora Jr at the end of the 4th

Diaz-Quiles is starting the 5th now, its a good thing Quiles refuses to trade

I played Diaz -230 personaly, couldn't recommend it due the location and promotion of the fight

saying thanks

saying thanks

box,

as an avid follower of your weekly threads, I wanted to say thanks for posting your picks and analysis week in and week out. it has definitely made me some cash over the past year and just wanted to say thanks.

off topic of that, have you been to the thomas and mack to watch a fight? going to be out there for corrales-castillo and was wanting some advice on where to sit and how much to pay. if anybody has any thoughts on getting tickets and where the best "value" seats are in the place, let me know.

thanks again

No problem hornsfan2

I've never been to the T & M...but I imagine Flipper and frank s. could help you out. I'm sure they will chime in when they see your question, if not I'll e-mail them and find out.

Not sure yet on the Ruiz-Lopez over, the fight was stopped in the 2nd round due to a headbutt and was called a tech draw, which is basically a no-contest but I'm not sure why it was called a td.

If they are the same thing, why does a no-contest have no-action while a tech draw is considered as draw?

Either way, I have a feeling I'm getting screwed
