Thats good news, that the fight was stopped in round 10! :)

I think we're going to have a bit of controversy with the books on this one...:mj07:

Yep, 3 of my books graded the wager incorrectly... :/

I had my wager at Ladbrokes, and even though i emailed them, they still have not rectified it as a 10 rd tko ( maybe that's because they had the highest odds for the 10-12 prop (+800))

It's only sunday morning, they probably just need more time.

I'm not sure though, if all bookmakers change the result of a bet if it was thought of as correct at the time, I remember boxrec had it listed as Klitschko RD9.

It was a deliberate and concerned decision ( not a silly mistake due to inattention)

On tape, Chagaev's corner pulls him 61 sec after the end of the 9 rd.

The bell for the 10th hadn't rung, but they made the comitement to act as if it had, and announced it as a 10 rd retirement.

According to the sportsbook rules, the official result in the ring is the one counting.

EDIT: fightnews has now 2 articles contradicting themselves about the rd of the stoppage. This is getting complicated.

Can anyone on this forum help me have my bet correctly graded at Ladbrokes ?

Their customer service don't want to hear anything.

Are there players who wagered the 9 rd prop ko and won ?

When a boxer fails to come out for the next round, I think most sportsbooks (both online and Las Vegas casino books) consider a fight to have ended in the previous round. Chagaev did not leave his corner for round 10. Therefore the correct grading of this fight would be TKO9.

If any players get paid out on a 10th round KO prop or 10-12 group-rounds prop, your book has done you a favour.

It's kind of weird.
2 of my books graded KO9 and 2 graded KO10!

Yesterday boxrec reported that Klitschko won in round 9, today they say its round 10.

I understand your point of vue, Graham.
But sportsbook's rules state it's the official result declared by the official governing body immediately after the end of the fight that counts, and they judged the 10 rd had started when Chagaev quit.
Both boxrec and fightnews have it 10 rd ret.

The tape shows Chagaev quitting 61 sec after the end of the 9 rd.

If you are breaking even on this, IMO you are doing OK, Zerwas.

I believe the books have the half-round designation specifically to avoid problems such as the one that has arisen in the grading of the Klitschko fight. (For instance: over/under 9.5 rather than over/under 9.)

When Jimmy Ellis was retired by his corner after four rounds against Joe Frazier, in Britain it would be TKO4, because round four was the last round of the fight, but the Ring Record Book lists it as TKO5. Same thing with Clay (as Ali then was known) and Liston in 1964. ... Sonny quit after six rounds. In Britain it was listed as TKO6 (correct) but the Ring Record Book has it as TKO7.

In each case, the bell sounded for the next round but the beaten fighter stayed on his stool. I believe it is clearly wrong for Frazier-Ellis to be recorded as KO5 and Clay-Liston as KO7 because there was no fifth round and no seventh round in these fights.

Talk about inconsistency: Roberto Duran versus Ken Buchanan is correctly recorded as TKO13 in the Ring Record Book, because Buchanan did not come out for Round 14.

I might do a column on this for my website.

To repeat, I have no doubt whatsoever that the correct grading of Klitschko-Chagaev was TKO9 and, in my view, any players who got credit for a win with a KO10 prop or 10-12 rounds group wager prop can count themselves fortunate.

However, I also take on board the fact that at least some online books state in their list of rules that they will accept the official result given at ringside. So, I suppose how Saturday's result was graded depends on the exact wording in the rules of a specific sportsbook.

funny thing...

Bwin, mentioned to me that I lost the bet due to they have a "official" source that mentioned the fight was only 9 rounds and I bet over 9.

They sent me this link:
http://de.eurosport.yahoo.com/21062009/73/klitschko-nimmt-chagaev-auseinander.html

In this atricle it is written that Klitschow TKOed C. in the 10th round... :142smilie :142smilie :142smilie

I cann?t believe it they sent me a link that proof them wrong...
I wrote them back a very angry e-mail and I hope to get my money soon.

What a mess! Michael Buffer's announcement of the way the bout ended was somewhat ambiguous: "The bell rang for the beginning of round number 10, referee Big Eddie Cotton realised the challenger could no longer continue, calls a halt to the bout ..." At no time did Michael say: "TKO at the end of round nine" or "TKO at the start of round number 10". He merely said: "winner by TKO".

I am totally convinced in my own mind that this was a TKO end of 9. Not a shadow of a doubt in my mind.

At the end of the day, it all rests with the line manager at individual sportsbooks.

I repeat, I believe that anyone getting credit for a win on a KO10 proposition or a KO in rounds 10-12, round-group wager, can count themselves very fortunate, and good luck to them because as we all know, fortune can swing either way in this business.

I don't think the jaro/hernandez fight took place....no result anywhere

I don't think the fight took place either because they never weighed in and all the articles on the main event never mention this perticular undercard result.
