Like the Povetkin under play, I also grabbed that back at the +260 and Diaz was a must

This is my 1st post on this site. I see alot of familiar names.

I got the over on Bidenko/Hersisia @-110. These guys aren't world beaters and IMO I think it goes the distance. Hersi was stopped by Aud but Aud can crack a little. I also have the under Pov/Donald @+190. I also have a small play on Adamak @-170, sorry box.

Any thoughts on Salgado/Valle? I'm thinking about a decnt wager on salgado @-270 but his draw has me a little concerned. He's only 22 so a draw at 20 shouldn't be too much to worry about.

I did well on Mack last night to strt the wk out on a good note. A little nerve wracking with a hefty wager @-525.

Good to see you around Romi, not as much traffic as the other place, but some very solid boxing guys post here. Welcome

Btw, you do realize its not "the" Tomasz Adamek right?

Just checking

Good catch, line has moved everywhere, -150 is the lowest out there now. I'm passing due to the higher odds...hope you hit it

Thanks, I layed out the -125 on Wilson, thinking the lines should move making him a bigger fav. I think I might have a chance to hedge here....

hahaha...cmon man, you got to give me a little more credit than that. I fully realize it's not Tomasz. To be honest though, I never heard of either one before a few hrs ago. I'm simply wagering an undefeated fighter fighting @ home vs foreign fighter that knows how to lose. I didn't wager the farm. Thx for the invite and welcome. Good luck.

Hey Box,

Both of your under picks look really solid especially the retirement KO of Larry Donald, but how do you see the Holyfield-Savarese Under 9.5 happening? I agree with the pick, but would like to hear your reasoning on it.

Also, I like the Wilson vs Nwodo Under 8.5 -145 because both guys can punch, Nwodo can be KOed and Wilson has had fatigue problems in the past. What do you think about that FNF bout?

Thanks,
Matt

under 8.5 -145 looks tempting.....i`m only seeing under 7.5...that one round could be important...i really don`t see wilson winning by decision,so i`m torn between taking wilson inside the distance at -109....and nwodo at +165.....

nwodo`s 6`3"...wison 5`10"..nwodo`s been whacked before....wilson,not.....both have fought legit heavyweights...but nwodo`s only been stopped by heavyweights....

andre purlette`s not a big heavyweight...but vs a level below elite guys,he can really whack... and wilson stayed in with him for 8...

supposedly both guys don`t like going backwards....i know that`s that`s a fact with wilson...he doesn`t go backwards...he`s a bigger,stronger,tougher julian letterlough...

my problem with nwodo is that i don`t see any real opponents on his ledger....chris thomas?..where`d he get a rep?...from beating that stiff richie lamontagne?...c`mon....

..imamu mayfield?...i can`t believe he`s only 35...i`m not sure that mayfield and ernest mateen aren`t the same guy.......lol

i read that nwodo`s based in baltimore....and that fightwriter posted a poll that stated this :

""Thursday p.m.: Gary "Digital" Williams of ""boxingalongthebeltway.blogspot.com"" told me this evening that in a poll on his website, 61 % of 116 respondents picked Nwodo to win and 38 % went for Wilson with 1 % going for a draw."

o.k...i`ve persoanlly been to michael`s 8th avenue to see fights numerous times..i`ve seen wilson a few times.....and i`ve never seen nwodo...and after checking his record,,i see he`s only fought there once....no fights at the d.c. armory....

so,unless those 116 "respndents" went to the gym.....or they all saw nwodo`s lone fight at michael`s 8th avenue( a 4th round ankle injury retirement by his opponent, who btw, kissed him on the cheek),or they routinely travel to virginia or pennsylvania to see club fight cards,i don`t know what they know that we don`t know...

the thing about nwodo`s tendency to club guys on the top and backs of their heads with long shots would be a concern....anybody hit on the back of the head hard enough can be buzzed...

so theres the dilemna...is nwodo the real deal?...can he handle wilson`s power?....can he use that height to his advantage?....

should be a great fan`s fight....

as far as futures go,there are some interesting dogs....i`m surprised that i can get b-hop at + money...i know wright`s hot,a difficult lefty....but,hopkins is bigger,taller.....every bit as slick...better feet....i think that if hopkins is smart,he`ll make winky continually reset....winky likes to stand in one place...i wouldn`t make a big deal of their comparative fights vs jermaine taylor....this is a different match-up...b-hop has trouble with speed and footwork...not so much trouble with guys that stand in front of him...

i like alphonso gomez a bit...and why not take a small shot with anthony hanshaw vs roy jones?...jones looked,in his last few fights, like a guy who`d hit the wall to me....couldn`t get off...a shell of his former self....

hanshaw`s slick ...busy..fairly tall...it`d be nice if he had a bit more power....but,he`s in his prime...jones is past his....

but, this is at lt heavy and hanshaw`s a super middleweight....jones ain`t no fool...still at that price,i`ll throw a few bucks away...

i`m also looking at paul williams...the odds will dictate whether i fool with that one...

also grabbed forrest and old henry akinwande...

big dogs...little dogs...trying to practice diversity..

btw..on telefutura tonight....anybody think ivan valle has a shot?

Larry Donald weighs in around 245. (111 Kilos)

Pretty heavy but about the same as against Valuev but 20 Pounds more than against Holy and Vitaly.

He has to move alot in this fight to stay alive. Donald is pretty good at boxing on the backfoot but Potevkin very good and relentless in his chasing opponents down. And maybe Donald gets lucky with a right hand and Potevkin is hitable for sure but he is throwing so much punches that most fighters are just convering up.
Potevkin has sparred with Akinwande for Donald. That is as good as it gets. If he can get to Akinwande he will get to Donald as well. Would love to hear some inside story but no man on the inside in russia.

Platov vs Akinwande is off. Akinwande fighting osinjekin
THe weight and the short preperation time are def will help the under bet. Even at +180 its a decent bet.

I also take Wilson at via stoppage. He has a very solid record with a lot of momentum. This could be over very quick.(hopfully)

Sphincter I am a sucker for Workrate so Williams is looking interesting over a 1000 punches in a ten rounder is impressive plus a decent chin and pretty accurate punching. Power is not super impressive though.

Very relaxed and slick for his height. But i want some serious plus money on him.

Thanks for the imput on Wilson vs. Nwodo.

Also, I also like Gomez to beat Gatti and Hanshaw to beat Jones. Jones and Gatti are both way past their prime and probably should of retired by now. I've always been a big fan of Gatti, but lately his handspeed and stamina is fading. Also, the current Gatti doesn't seem to do well with pressure fighters and body punchers and Gomez is both. As for Jones, he may not have the stamina for the Hanshaw if he presses the action because lately the only way Jones can win a fight is at a slow pace in short methodical bursts followed by inactivity. I think the only reason Gatti and Jones are favorites is because their reputation, which far exceeds their skill at this point in their careers. That being said I hope Gatti proves me wrong because he has been such a crowd pleaser for many years.

I essentially agree with your comments on Jones and Arturo. Not so sure if it's the stamina that's the issue or the lack of punch resistance. Trver had Jones out again in the 3rd go but didnt capitalize. Arturo was getting hammered by Baldy who doesn't have a great punch. Arturo also said Damgard was hurting him. The key to beating both these guys is just taking the fight to them. If Gomez and Henshaw do what they say then I believe the dogs will win by stoppage.

Hopefully Pov wants to make a statement and goes after Donald. I'm wagering he gets him out but wouldn't be surprised to see doanld get in survival mode early and and lose 100-90.

Box you won the Adamek wager by a SD hair. That was basically a throw away fun bet on this side. If Pov comes through big time then I'll be more than happy.

-I'm a bit green on this board...my comments re: Gatti and Jones were a response to Matts comments.

Yes, I think Valle has a shot. I saw his opponent ringside when this tough Mex journeyman Licona weathered an early assault and had him going backwards.... Valle has been in with much better comp... often losing SD, MD until he ran into the monster that is Humberto Soto. Small play on Valle and then I like the +12.5 points at dimes. Valle only needs to win 3 rounds to win that bet.

I'm watching the Telefutura card right now, its 110 degrees in the ring right now. Just food for thought, wouldn't lay the wood on the Over in the main event with temperatures that high.
