Napa just gave some players one of the worst beats I can imagine

has to be right up there with Martinez-Cintron and Botha-Carrion

that was brutal
it was an interesting bout, but not exactly a war
bizarre quit job

I thought the fight was very even!

Napa "looked" better with his flashy moves, but the punchstats were very close.

I dont know why Napa quit, there was really no reason. Even if he had lost the last 3 rounds (which seems unlikely) he would have still earned a draw.

Well, good for me! :)

Yes, the players got killed in live betting, no doubt about it. Napa was -275 before the first bell, bet down to -225 by the end of Rd 4, but then money began pouring in on Napa, and he had been bet up to -700 by the end of Rd. 7, then bet up to -1000 by end of 8th, then all of a sudden the fight is over, just when Napa seems to be on his way to winning. ... A very strange finish because Napa had shown no sign of being weak in the legs or anything ... Live betting can be a killer. As soon as there is the slightest change in the direction of a fight, the lines are taken down in a nano second and are not put back until (and if) the "trader" (as they are called in the U.K.) feels the fight has settled down again. So, if a player lays the price and thinks he can lay it off, if there is a change in fortune and his guy is in trouble, can be left holding the baby, so to speak, when the lines are whisked away.

Napa was up by two, three and four points on the judges' cards after 8 rounds. Had Napa won just ONE of the last four rounds (assuming he didn't get knocked down) he would have won the fight. That retirement was as strange as the "no mas" in New Orleans because there was not even a hint of Napa being in trouble or fading. ... You cannot trust what trainers say (in most cases). Napa's trainer, Brian Lawrence, was going on about how good Napa was looking in the gym and how focused he was, then Napa confesses in the post-fight interview that he had been killing himself making weight. Hall players (and anyone taking a stab at the under) got a wonderful gift.

Hoffman annililates his opponent in 2.

Can't say I'm a Hoffman fan but after yesterday antics at the press conference, I'm glad this douchebag got blasted out in 2. There is no excuse for that kind of behavior. IMO, it's ALWAYS a sign of a scared fighter that pulls that kind of crap. I'm referring to the guy that blindsided Hoffman and shoved him across the room.

Cotto-Foreman-Skin illustrations.

Cotto-Foreman-Skin illustrations.

Seems Cotto has acquired more "skin iluustrations", or tats. I realize that may mean no more than a hill of beans, to paraphase Humphery Bogart, but I ain't shittin, it seems when these guys start getting inked up they go south. Mosley NEVER had tats. He had some versus money May. That ain'y why he lost, but it was a SIGN!!!!!! Bring on the matza balls and gifilte fish.

:0074 You just knew that stiff was gonna get an ass-kicking there.

Man, can't believe Napa just up and quit like that. There have been too many warning signs to remember with that sky friday fights in england. Every single week there's some controversy there. Seems the books made big money with the live betting... Gotta stay away from these fights man.

I am out for the rest of the night, but I am going to take a small shot on one more bet

Alcoba UNDER 7.5
I think he might be able to get rid of Michi Munoz before then
took it at -165

those wanting to watch the Telemundo card can probably find it here in a few hours:
http://bit.ly/ayfvOo

but it looks as if Edner Cherry fight is off (per boxrec)

Tomorrow
fights from Turkey and Germany in the afternoon

Big HBO card at night

Good luck fellas

I'm taking it easy this week, but I like this wager Ghost. I see Alcoba trying to make a statement and go after him, and Munoz has been dummied before. Alcoba looked pretty aggressive in that firefight with Carrera.
