My plays so far...

My plays so far...

Danny Perez -125- Medium

Perez has had more time to train than Molina. He trained hard because he thought he was fighting Quintana. He is a 154 not a 147 like molina. He has more experience, hits harder, and fought better opposition (Margorito twice). He likes fighting orthodox (molina) better than southpaws (quintana). Prediction: UD Perez

Omar Nino Romero -165- Medium

Romero is the fresher boxer as opposed to Rubillar with 451 rounds and 64 fights. He is boxing in Mexico again. Rubillar is coming off a gruelling fight with Edgar Sosa in which he took a tremendous amount of punishment and was stopped for the first time in 10 years. Romero is the better boxer here and as long as he is busy and goes to the body, he wins a UD.

Boytsov vs. Bidenko under 9.5 +165- Small

Denis Boytsov is improving and has the best trainer in Germany, Fritz Sdunek (trainer of Vitali Klitschko). In this fight, Boytsov will go for an early knockout and if he doesn't get it early; he is still a very accurate, hard puncher that can wear Bidenko down under 9.5.

Good Luck Guys! :)

Klitschko vs Chagaev?
http://www.fightnews.com/?p=12979

Wlad wants some hep
:mj07:

Guess he's thinking there's nothing wrong with a little hep in your step. Chag tested postive for it just last week even though it was just trace amt. How does that make Germany look if Finland bars him from fighting but they allow it:shrug: I'd be shocked if it went off. Somebody needs to talk a little common sense @ the promotion. I read the Cuban Solis wants the fight. Since Aereola wisely rejected the offer on short notice, I'd like to see Solis get the chance. I think that is the best fight right now that could be made. Klits people will reject it..too dangerous. Toney also wants a crack. It's a little laughable but when you think about it, Klit had the nerve to take on old man Rahman right after Toney essentially made him quit.

On Steve Bunce's show today, they interviewed Wlad's manager.

Ready for this: Replacements for Haye include Chagaev, Kevin Johnson, Evander Holyfield, Brian Minto and....Michael Grant.

Imagine if Holy gets the shot and pulls the miraculous upset. Then he will say how decsion not to quit, which he was taught not to do, and his deep faith got him to the promised land again. I think Wlad is a vast talent in many respects yet I see him as a guy that could fold in almost any fight. It's a wacky contradiction, I know, its just how I see the guy. And there has been evidence of such in the past.

How come Butterbean hasn't been mentioned??? Since they/he are making a mockery of the sport and turning it into a circus show why doesn't Klit just do what Foreman did 30+ yrs ago...fight these 5 guys on the same night. Not 1 of them stands a remote chance of winning. IMO it's criminal to even mention Oldy and Grant as potential opponents. I used to be a fan of Wlad. Now I'm kind of hoping he gets ktfo. I hate to see the sport dragged in the mud like this.

Agreed ! Look at all of Klit's recent flawed opponents- clearly a protected fighter because if someone actually lands a good punch, he's always capable of a meltdown since he's simply not a fighter, but a great athlete. IMO also, Vitali has lost a step after that 4 year layoff. Cmon Arreola- get in shape and put a little buzz in tihs sorry excuse for a heavyweight division. Haye's approach was very needed and admirable but he may just be too small.

Despite yesterday?s announcement that the June 20th heavyweight championship bout between Wladimir Klitschko and David Haye has been called off due to an injury Haye suffered during training camp, the Haye Camp is seeking a postponement rather than a cancellation. ?Unfortunately David has sustained a back injury which means he is unable to continue training for a short period,? said Adam Booth, Haye?s trainer and manager. ?We?re heading back to the UK for some aggressive physiotherapy. It looks like there will be only a three week delay from the original fight date with respect to David?s readiness, which hopefully means that Wladimir will only postpone the fight, rather than cancel it.?

Might still be a small chance he fights Haye if Klits agree's..

Matt, have you seen Boystov fight? I haven't but upon looking at his record, I got the impression his ko % was a bit inflated. Looks like he's fought a ton of d and c level fighters. Maddalone went the dist with him and Oldy got Madd out in 3. I have a bit on the over and was actually thinking Bidenko could be a live dog. He's only lost 2 and he was beating Virchis until he got nailed in the 12th. Bid has a nice ht and experience advant to boot. Bid is only 29 and aside from Virchis, he hasnt been in any wars. I dont see an easy fight for Boystov...just my opinion.

Yeah, I have seen about 7 or 8 of Boystov's fights and I like what I see. He has a good straight right and a nice double left to the body. He is not a one punch knockout guy, but he does throw accurate, hard combinations and has good stamina. That being said, Bidenko is the best boxer he has been matched against and sometimes when young fighters step up in class they get too tenitive and if that happens Taras Bidenko could pull of the upset. That is why it is only a small play for me.

Good luck Romi :)

Btw, has anyone seen a line on the Pawel Wolak vs Vinroy Barrett fight?

Graham has a good take on Boystov/Bidenko. In the pic Boystov looks rather formidable. I'm going to leave my over bet alone but not overly confident of it. Hopefully a link will be available. Looks to be a good fight. Good luck Matt.

-I have a play on Perez. I was looking to get a scalp or hedge. Another close one that I don't see a ton of value in.

-I'm on 3 overs this week for a decent amt...Perez/Molina, Boystov/Bidenko, Romero/Rubilar. Good luck Madjackers!

Graham sounds right on the money in his preview of Boystov v. Bidenko as usual.

The over on Perez/Molina and Romero/Rubilar look solid as well.

Good Luck Romi

I have some money on:

Taras Bidenko;
Juergen Braehmer vs Antonio BrancalionUnder 9? rounds
+ some small amounts on Vinroy Barrett and on some draws in MMA/UFC at very very high odds.

I wish all of us good luck for the weekend :)

Here are my plays for the weekend:

LARGE PARLAY
Holm-Boytsov

Holly is way bigger than than Dude Yankoface. Slicker and faster I imagine as well. She will win every round.
Taking a risk with Boytsov (a bit unknown), but he is the younger fighter with more upside for Universum. Also comes with a great trainer and a great amateur pedigree. I don't like Bidenko's layoff either.

MEDIUM
Perez

Another tough call, but I agree with matt on this one.
Perez is comfortable at 154 and was training hard because Quintana was going to be a tough fight. He should be ready. Molina is vastly improved, but I think Chavez Jr and Camacho both stink - not sure those are great resume builders.

MEDIUM
Over 10.5 Romero-Rubillar

I would go LARGE on this, but I still remember last time the little guys in Mexico screwed me. Raul Garcia and Ronald Barrera. A cut killed a for sure OVER bet in that one. Still, I think this thing goes the route - they fought to a decision once already.

My predictions:

Holly Holm UD
Danny Perez UD
Omar Nino Romero SD
Boytsov TKO 9

Good luck crew.
