Later today, Zerwas

Later today, Zerwas

I was luck to get Melligen early at -115. Right afte that the line dropped.
Under 8.5 @+275 seems to be pretty good as well, even though its a gamble, but Adjaho is moving up 2 divisions....

I was about to bet Hopkins at -385 as well, but when I confirmed my bet, the new line was -500, and I cant really get excited about that.

I also have a bet on Ina over 7 @-400, but not that much.

Nothing major anyway.

Hope Melligan takes care of bussniess.

No fightwriter articles this week! :(

Hello Zerwas

I am away from base this week but I should be taking a look at a few of the fights, maybe 3 or 4 bouts, later today (Thursday in the U.S.)

Good luck

Graham

I'm going to follow you on this one Mate.

Ina is due a loss so why not!!!

:toast: :toast:

All right brother, glad to hear it!!!

I'm not pinning my savings on it or anything, but I do have a fairly good feeling about this pick as a huge upset play. Let's see how it pans out!

I can't believe Demetrius Hopkins is -700 at some sites
He absolutely SUCKS

He doesn't train seriously, he has almost no power, and he is WAY too economical with his punches

His fight with Kendall Holt was one of the worst boxing matches I've ever seen

The Greek has blown it time and time again, but the odds are all screwy in my opinion

TKO boxing is promoting the event and has signed Hopkins, so the likely result is Hopkins decision

Arnaoutis is way too passive himself....but I can't believe the respects Hopkins is getting here

One thing I am pretty sure about....this fight will STINK

Weekend plays so far

Weekend plays so far

All right, I don't see much at all this week, so I'm not going to force the issue. To go on nothing at all is, well, unrealistic for me...and for most of you other degenerates as well, so I will make a few small plays. I could see me going 0 for this week, but even if that happens, loses will be moderate. So far I've got:

Arslan-Herelius OVER 11.5 (-150) - small As a personal rule, I tend to shy away from 11.5 over's. There's just too many intangibles and that's a long way to go, but I do like this one to go the distance. Arslan doesn't have the pop that his looks would suggest. He's had a few distance scraps lately. Herelius is neither a big puncher. Barring the usual cut or bullshit scenarios, this one looks like a distance tilt. Forced to choose, I'd say Herelius outboxes Arslan in a close fight. Whether or not he gets the decision is another matter. I'm also taking Herelius for a tiny amount.

Anges Adjaho (+275) - small Alot of love for Melligen on the forum, and far be it for me to piss on anyone's cornflakes. And I must give full credit to Garden Weasel for that figure of speech, as apparently I've ruined his breakfast before. I think we're hip to the plot here. Melligen 'should' win this...more active, the promoted and the bigger guy etc. But I think Adjaho is the more skilled guy. He was within a whisker of beating Acosta, and he was beating DeMarco too, before a momentary lapse of reason cost him the fight. The fight is just 10, and I think he will give Melligen all he can handle, and maybe then some. At even money I would've stayed away, but at +275 I just can't pass up laying a slight on the African. My advice to anyone who got the generous opening odds, would be to hedge away and take the FREE MONEY!

I'm not quite done yet, but will hold up for just a bit before offering one or two more small plays.

Good luck madmen!!!!

My plays for the week...

My plays for the week...

Firat Arslan +100 - Medium
If not for Firat's age and rust, this would be a large play for me because Firat has the perfect style to beat Herelius. Herelius has no jab to keep Firat away from fighting inside. Herelius pulls straight back and Firat should be able to land as long as he throws. Firat has quicker hands and digs with the left downstairs and upstairs. Firat should have better stamina. And Herelius usually only throws one punch at a time in contrast to Firat that repeatedly throws combinations inside. I see Firat by UD by walking Herelius down and outworking him on the inside.

Jeannine Garside +1000 - Small
I agree with Quanah's analysis.

Anges Adjaho + 270 - Medium
Speed kills and mentally I think Adjaho should be more focused coming off a fight he could of won if not for his costly decision to try to get a point deduction from his opponent.

Also, I think all of these fights go over including Hopkins Vs the Greek.

Good Luck Guys! :00x2

Certainly decent lines on Agnes but it's hard to forget when someone spits the bit in a fight. He may have been leading against DeMarco but, to me, always looked a hard shot away from folding. And, of course, he did.

He did give Acosta a good fight 3 years ago at 130. But he struggled with perennial loser Armando Cordoba and barely scraped by Edgar Fabian Vargas.
Melligen not a killer but he is a young, fresh guy with more than a modicum of ability - he's pretty sharp. I think Agnes will find himself in deep water again.

He'll always be Agnes to me after the DeMarco debacle.

one more play

one more play

Mike Arnaoutis (+475) - small I agree that Mighty Mike has been slipping. I think though, with his career literally on the line, that he will put in a good performance here. I like his size and apparent strength vs. Hopkins in the weigh-in photos. For Hopkin's part, I agree with Ghost's assessment. I think he's overrated, and lacks strength. To me he's gotten consistent scorecard breaks. Against Forbes, a split against Holt, and way back I remember Speedy Gonzales clearly giving him a boxing lesson. Playing the odds once again here. I expect this to be a very competitive fight, and at +475 I'll go ahead and take a little shot.

You are reading my mind this week. I am also on this.

Neither of these guys are world beaters so the odds are out of whack.

Arnaoutis is at a temping price but I think little Nard will win. Baby Hop isn't a bad fighter. He's fast and can box. And he has a bit more power in his right hand than most think. Arnaoutis doesn't fight like he wants it anymore. He just isn't busy enough and he won't score a KO here. Both had crap fights with Holt but I thought lil Nard was much more competitive with enigmatic rapier like Holt. Arnaoutis fought scared while Holt, in my view, edged out a close fight between tall, swift boxers with DHOP.

i would agree that hopkins is rightly a decent sized fave...but i don`t see a slew of lefties on hopkins` resume...

arnaoutis occasionally flashes some unexpected power...we can hope...

Demetrius was pretty much dismissed by Uncle B because he doesn't train hard and wanted to freeload off of family money

That may not catch up with him tonight, but I will be shocked if this kid is ever a legitimate world champ

HE SUCKS

Arnaoutis can beat him...I don't know if the greek has it in him to fight hard anymore, but the gap in talent is not that large

ohhh!.. a black frenchman.....

g`night firat...:sadwave:

Classic episode of All In The Family had Archie sharing a hospital room with a black Frenchman. They became good friends but Archie didn't know the guy was black. When Archie crossed the room to get the guys number to invite him over, he said "what the hell happened to the Frenchman I was talking to" :mj07:

J McD winning easily over the 1st 2. Looks like a lightwt fighting a bantam...can't see this being remotely close...the -1600 line looks justified
