nite

In the final fight of the evening, a scheduled 10 round light heavyweight bout, undefeated Gayrat Ahmedov took on Dallas Vargas. Vargas appeared to be a solid opponent, at least on paper, but folded for the count after being tagged by a solid body shot to the liver towards the end of the opening round. By way of KO victory, Ahmedov improves to 15-0-1 (10 KOs) while Vargas drops to 22-5 (16 KOs).

"Impressive 1 punch ko but the guy he fought is a scrub. Why is Gayrat -1100
He had an Md v a 40 yr old oft beaten fighter just recently. Is this another Green/Briggs tonight??? The line has moved from -500 to -1100 "

I thought it looked more level on paper as well. The abrubpt move on the line made me think otherwise though. At least this one apparently ended with a legit body shot and not a phantom punch.

Yeah, the Gayrat's fight does look suspicious.. Vargas was always a sturdy enough guy. Looks like he already retired and was paid to show up and fold..

Actually, everything involving Shumenov and his KZ promotional company has that rotten/corrupted smell to me. Both Campillo fights, the Gayrat's fight and even with Uzelkov, they didn't even provide the guy with the scales and the interpreter, so he had to starve himself to 172 lbs. 3 extra lbs! Shows how cheap they are.

Well, I should've taken Romi's advice and remained a spectator this weekend.

Very surprised Wright did not get Harrison out of there.

Seems like Dallas Vargas pulled a Briggs.

Excellent assessment of the Shumenov fight Graham! Right on the button. I knew, from the first round on, that I had backed the wrong horse. Shumenov much stronger, more will, etc. Shumenov seemed a much improved fighter since the Campillo debacle, and I was very impressed. Strong, strong guy. Uzelkov was a bit of a puss in there, didn't seem to really want it.

Oh well, no biggie...just some small wagers for fun...but it still sucks to lose.

Big week on tap!

Stay cool bro!
Don't go making something stupid.
Like playing online poker :mj07:

Lucky for me I'm not a card guy - I couldn't tell you even one way to play poker !

And the only games tonight are Women's Pro Basketball and United States Soccer. ZERO interest in either, for betting or entertainment.

Glad the World Cup is over, because that was high level sport - VERY fun to watch and VERY tempting to bet.

Just have to sit back now and wait for the TREMENDOUS fight weekend upcoming.

Son of a... This was my pick of the week, and guess who I would've taken? I was not sold on Casimiero because of one good win. He's only 20. You could see by record that Hirales was a good boxer, plus homefield. Sounds like it was nip and tuck though.

I guess if we start betting on this, we are truly addicts!!

I can honestly say I've never wagered under 20 Women's World Cup. So much for that 12 step program I was going to join.

Echols loses again

Echols loses again

Man this is getting sadder and sadder
both Echols and Ruben Williams need to stop
shame on the states that continue to license them
I know everyone has a right to make a living, but Echols is going to have every last brain cell beaten out of him

One of the truly disgusting aspects of boxing and we have been saying this about Echols and Ruben for a couple yrs now. Just take a close look at Wilfredo Benitez, Bobby Chacon, Ali, Jimmy Young, Frasier, Danny Lopez, just to name a handful. Fvck the promotors and commissions that even consider putting Echols and Ruben in the ring again.

ditto... this guy Cunningham was not even a big puncher at all. I don't know how he continues to be granted a license?? Ruben Williams needs to get out too, but at least he goes rounds, Echols is just getting clobbered by increasingly average opponents. A lot of countries have trialhorse types, like these guys from England, and really all throughout Europe that have records like 13-87 but have only been stopped 4 times in their career. Can't think of any names off hand, but there are some in action every few weeks. I'll point them out next time I see one. This is why boxing needs a commission.
