I have been HORRIBLE on Friday Night Fights recently.
I picked Shaun George and I picked Cornelius Lock.

so take this with a grain of salt.

But I think Cayo looks pretty good in the footage.

He's a natural 140 pounder and he is very relaxed. He has an awkward style (like Acosta did against Antillon last week). But dude seems to have a decent beard and fast hands. He also fights well backing up.

Granted - this was against crap competition. But I think he might beat Julio Diaz. Cayo seems confident and seems to pick his spots well. And he was strong all nine rounds. I think if he lands the same hook that knocked down Bolanoe, he might knock Julio the puck out.

Talented, once-beaten prospect Marvin Quintero weighed in at the contracted weight of 131 pounds and hard-hitting veteran Tyrone Harris tipped the scales at 132? pounds during Thursday?s weigh in at the Pechanga Resort and Casino in Temecula, Calif. Harris will be allowed to fight, but will be fined by the California State Athletic Commission for failing to make the contracted weight. Undefeated bantamweight prospect Chris Avalos and knockout artist Andre Wilson both measured 117 pounds for the ShoBox co-feature.

That is how I see the fight too, except I see the uppercut by Cayo KOing Diaz.

Good Luck Ghost Kid!

I like those bets!!

It's a pity the odds have changed drastically :scared

My bets for this week-

My big bet is Bradley to beat Campbell at -240. I think Campbell is so good in a large part due to speed but I think Bradley will negate this. Bradley is very busy, quick and has stamina for day's. Nate has struggled in the middle to late rounds of fights. I think Bradley wins down the stretch on points.

Smaller bet on Witter at +170. Witter can give anybody trouble and this is a big step up for Alexander.

Smaller bet on Harris to beat Quintero at +340. It might just be me but I'm not impressed by Quintero. I think Harris has the skill to catch him in between Quintero's wild swings.

Witter/Harris Parlay. It pays +1100

Good luck all :toast: :toast: :toast:

I like Bradley as well. Campbell has had stamina issues in many fights in his career. Also, Bradley's movement will give Campbell problems. Campbell likes fighter that are right in front of him all the time like Diaz and Kid Diamond, but that is not how Bradley fights.

Wiiter Vs Alexander is going the distance...it's going for sure and will probably be a stinker. At 35 and Witter's low punch output. I see Alexander being busier to win the fight. But it is a close fight.

Wow, if you are a bright prospect and want to ruin your career overnight - just sign with Oscar's company. They are absolute career killers!

Who is matchmaking for this company ?

I agree with both of you guys. By the way, Noe Bolanos has a granite chin. I saw couple fights with him before on Telemundo and if Cayo managed to knock him down like that then Diaz might be in big trouble tomorrow.

Poor Huerta must have been confused. In post fight interview, he said he used the count, got up, and the referee stopped it. Sorry buddy, you got counted out and stayed on the one knee.

Does Golden boy's matchmakers watch tape on their opponents because you can't just go by their records.

Oh well, Good Luck this weekend guys!

Lil Hagler wins a UD!

Lil Hagler wins a UD!

Former Featherweight champion of the world Freddie Norwood (43-3-1, 23 KO?s) won an eight round unanimous decision over Jose Celaya. Norwood, who fought at the Middleweight limit for this bout, scored a knockdown in the first round. Norwood mostly had Celaya (31-5, 16KO?s) on the defensive throughout the bout, although Celaya did have some of his moments. All three judges scored the bout in favor of Norwood, with scores of 78-73, 79-72, and 80-71.

WOW
surprised by this result
with Norwood's inactivity and the location of the bout tonight, I probably would have bet Celaya
Jose is officially shot

in brett conways article about julio diaz,

julio says, ?I feel I got to show something spectacular in a comeback fight coming off a loss,? he says. ?It?s a new weight division. I?m hoping to show up with a bang and show something spectacular in that weight class.?

Weekend Plays

MEDIUM STRAIGHTS
Cayo
Hlatshwayo

LARGE PARLAY
Quintero to Drummond

Analysis:

Going against Kid Diaz again. Hope the china chin cracks sometime within 10 rounds. Fight is at 140 pounds, which I think will favor the Domincan Cayo.

These favorite parlays have not been working out well - but I am going to give it another go here. Mainly due to the fact that I think Rossy and Harris both suck. Quintero and Drummond are the house fighters on each card. I know, I know. So was Antillon. But the opponents appear much weaker here.

Rodriguez vs. Hlatshwayo is a very interesting rematch.

I was finally able to view the first encounter on DVD. I was quite surprised at what I saw on the film. Star Boxing (with numerous interviews and press releases) made it sound like a robbery occurred in the first bout. I expected to see D-Rod boxing from the outside and beating the South African to the punch. THAT IS NOT WHAT HAPPENED AT ALL.
Hlatshwayo was beating the PISS out of D-Rod for the first 8 rounds. I had it 6 to 2. The South African nearly had D-Rod out in the 5th. And hurt him again in the 7th and 8th.
The swing came in the ninth, where Rodriguez landed a perfect right hand and scored a knockdown. D-Rod made a late charge in the fight, but I still scored it clearly for the South African.

The rematch is in America and Rodriguez is rightly favored. Hlatshwayo will need a KO to win in America. But I think the odds are a bit out of whack. I am going to take the nice odds on the South African. He had D-Rod hurt MULTIPLE times in the first half of that fight. Maybe he can finish the deal this time.

I also like Bradley and the OVER 9.5 in Witter/Alexander. But I don't like the prices.
I do question Alexander's resume - what is his best win? Corley? Not sure I trust the kid from St. Louis at all. Witter could snake this.

Good luck crew

Rodriquez ready for title shot
http://www.fightnews.com/?p=19060

Delvin says he had a much better camp this time. He seems like an honest guy. I believe this to be true.

But I really didn't like what I saw in the first fight. I am going to stick with the odds on the South African.

Cayo at +180 was a great catch!

I think both the Bradley and the Witter fight will go over!
I havent seen terribly much from Alexander, Witter is a good puncher...what do you think, can he ko Alexander!?

I also like Campbell by decision (because of the odds),even though he will most likely lose....

Both fights figure to be good competetive matches...

i saw the odds on campbell by decision at +600....that`s quite substantial...but,i don`t see nate winning via decision given bradley`s workrate....and bradley`s been on his arse more than once.....

i think if nate gets this,it might be via stoppage....

i think given campbell`s age, bradley may out-hustle him...but to tell you the truth,i`m not entirely sold on bradley....despite all that muscle, theres just not enough pop there...

he`s quick and busy...but i wouldn`t call him a master boxer....height`s not there,either...not really sure he "beat" kendall holt as much as holt gave the fight away by falling asleep.....

he is strong,though...i thought hlatswayo just overpowered nate....maybe at 140,it happens again...

g.l.,man...
