Well, you know, Clottey could slip and turn his ankle on a wet canvas, but besides something like that, no. Number sucks though- parlay boost material. I was hoping for better odds inside the distance as he may want to make a statment in a stay busy fight..

What an incredibly quiet week for me. I've only placed the one wager... the Raul Marques under and that's it. Aside from some futures, I can't recall once in the past year where I've only placed 1 wager for a single week. I missed the Clottey deadline. I wanted to put that one in a parlay. I liked him @-1000 but -1500 was too much of a stretch. I'm considering wagering Jhonny and also David Lopez...perhaps a parlay there.

EDIT: I just took Calloway by dec @+700 for a small play. I'm just taking the word on a few posters here who like his chances. I've only seen him once or twice and don't really have a good feel one way or the other. I do like the odds though.

I got that too.

i posted that in the frank s thread to give him a head start.
But i believe Calloway has a good shot to win this fight. Here is what i posted there. Bigger play for me :
Get yourself some of Calloway at plus 400. He is very alive in this fight. Heis getting really quality sparring for the first tme in his carrier with the likes of Rahman, Cunningham and Eddie Champers.
He has problems with hard hitters but Terry Smith is not a power puncher.
Also this fight is right in the middle of the hometowns of the two fighter Calloway should be the more popular guy and when it is close he has a good chance to get the edge.

Smith was rocked several times by small criuser Davis and Feliz had him also in big trouble in the 9 round.
I have played Calloway at plus 515 but he is still very good value because if Smith wins it will be by close dec.
Additionaly my source who is really hot right now advocates Calloway at 390 as play.
Frankie get yourself some plus money.
At least it doesnt feel half ass bad if a dog loses but get mad at myself if i lose a chalk bet.

Good Luck

Tony

I've seen Calloway and Smith fight live...both times I was sitting in the first 10 rows. I've also seen both guys fight several times on television, so I have a pretty good feel on this one. As posted, I like Calloway, esp given the odds and points handicap

When Bobby Dobbs announced that this fight was signed, I asked him where it would take place. Before he had time to respond, I insinuated that if the fight was in Tulsa/Miami OK...Smith would win a lopsided decision regardless of what happened in the ring. He played dumb and acted like he didn't know about the promotional and locational advantage his fighters have when fighting in NE OK. In fact, he acted offended to be accussed of being part of boxing politics..lol

I was ringside for Smith-Davis and Calloway-McCline...and while the decisons were correct in both cases, I scored both fights much closer than the judges had it. Calloway put up a very good fight against McCline, he won a few rounds for sure, but he was simply too small for the 6'6" 280 lb giant.

Smith was hit with some very big shots by Davis who is only 5'8". If Davis had any power behind those shots he would've done some damage as Smith seemed stunned on several occasions in that fight. Calloway is 6'3" and has much more power than Davis.

The location is a huge part of my play on Calloway at +450, but I think the +14 points handicap would cover at any location...very solid play there

Anyway, while the location will definitly help Calloway, the promotion still heavily favors Smith, who will have some crowd support as well. I think the +14 points is a great play, with the Calloway +450 as a huge bonus if it hits

Either way...gl to us

Boxrec confirms the scores I gave you...congrats

The ESPN broadcast starts right now, the Smith-Calloway fight won't start for another 45 minutes at least, I'd say more like an hour form now.

good info right there.
Is terry Smith a Holden Production fighter. I mean does he have a contract with him ?
If so thats not good, but still at these odds he has a shot.
did you have weigh in infos ?
I guess Calloway will be pretty light around 210.

Good luck

Yes, Smith is a Holden Production fighter

No, I don't have weigh-in info, but I don't think it matters too much in this one. Smith weighed 216 back in 2003 and weighed 210 back in 2001, he's also 1" shorter than Calloway so he's not really the bigger guy here imo
