Thx Box...I work Friday nights. I run a restaurant out in Calif. The clientele aren't exactly boxing fans. I have time to check the computer for updates, but I think a few customers would have a coronary if I turned on the fights. Appreciate the updates.

Understood

1st round was pretty even, I had Rob winning until Smith landed a big shot that wobbled him in the last 10 seconds

Could've gone either way

Anyone else scoring this mess?

Horrible fight

Smith is busier and getting off first, Calloway is getting some decent counters in but it doesn't do enough top counter Smith's higher workrate. Smith landing more body shots

Boring fight

Smith wins round 4 on workrate alone, but even his workrate is pathetic

I figured this fight would be a last stand for Calloway at this point in his career given the location of the fight, not to mention on national television. I thought he would come out aggressive and force the action on the slower Smith. Unfortunately Calloway is acting like this is just another fight, and getting outworked by a passive fighter.

Rob gave a better showing in the 4th but he's gotta pick up the pace to keep this one close

Update....Teddy Atlas has Calloway up 3-2

But remember the promotion, Rob has to win convinsingly

Very frustrating to watch, if Calloway would let his hands go he'd be fine, instead he chooses to counter Smith who isn't throwing any punches either, but since Smith always throws first he appears to be the aggressor.

While I wasn't looking, Calloway dropped Smith at the end of round 8

The points handicap is looking great right now

The punch that dropped Smith landed at the end of a clinch at 2:59 of the 8th round

In a delayed reaction, Smith stumbled to the groud after the bell sounded and got up before the 10 count but he was severely hurt and saved by the end of the round

Smith rocked Calloway at the mid point of the 10th round, but Rob held on, Smith won the 10th easily and almost stopped him

Atlas has it 96-92 Calloway

Yeah Baby... I hit the +700 dec prop! It wasn't a huge wager but it was the 5dimes max feeler bet of 100.00. This was a "quiet" week but I'm 3 and 0 and won the same amt as last week. Thx for the updates Box!

Many thanks to those on the board that were pushing the calloway wager!

amazing.....i decided to play calloway by decision at 500+ and i saw the knockdown in the 8th as they were going to commercial......smith was hurt badly......i almost had a coronary....

then, smith gets a bit of a second wind in the 10th and lands some very big shots on calloway who seemed disinterested(i`m sure he realized he had a comfortable lead)....

i thought the scores were off,honestly....i thought calloway won more comfortably....smith looked amazingly slow and lethargic....i think smith is beginning to look like damaged goods....

strange night...i hate baseball, but since early in the season i decided to bet the lowly orioles every time eric bedard pitches..the guy`s a real talent......i think i mentioned it on here once before...

the guy is beating the red sox on 2 hits 1-0 going into the 8th...the idiot mgr pulls him after the sox tie it at 1...then with 2 outs, they proceed to get another 4 on the horrible oriole relievers....

i figure i`m sunk...but,the sawx bring in a shot eric gagne and the orioles get 4 to tie it...and win it in the 9th....

an amazing night....another winning weekend regardless of tonight...

nice call on calloway,b.l...

Money Management...

Money Management...

I'm already up big for the week, no need to get greedy and risk all the profits

Adding a small hedge to the parlay...

Penalosa over Gonzalez +450...lay .10 to win .45

Final situation...now risking .50 to win .25 on the parlay

Good job once again Box. Looks like you win either way tonignt on Pen/Jhonny. I was going to wager Jhonny @-475 but like you, there is no need to get greedy. I'd be wagering my profit to make a few hund...not worth it. Bautista/Ponce is a pic em IMO. If Bautista can stay vertical, I think he'll win. He likes to show off his stones though and it could cost him. I'm 2 hrs away from Sacramento. I just might get in the car and go see the fights.

The streak is at 9 weeks post Zab and going strong. These aren't huge weeks like I had in the early going of the year, but they are really starting to add up. The key has been keeping the number of wagers down and not getting greedy after showing a profit.

Marquez under med wager/med-win
Lopez Large wager/med-win
Calloway dec small wager-med lge-win

on penalosa/gonzales....looking at this logically,i see gonzales winning...the height......but,this is at 118.....not 122....

gonzales has had some problems with smaller guys that are reasonably clever....

gonzales beat fernando montiel by split decion....(he won clearly,i thought...montiel was just too small).....

and he actually reallly struggled vs smallish/non punching ricardo vargas twice....granted,it was 5 years ago and gonzales is much, much better....

still, penalosa has had an excellent career...he can box and punch and is a southpaw...jhonny`s been on his ass a few times and penalosa hasn`t...

after the 5-1 winner last night(kudos, guys) ...i think i would be remiss not to put a very small throwaway on gerry at better than 4-1......

as i said,SPONGY(lol),i don`t think that penalosa will handle that height...but considering the big wins yesterday, i`d feel terrible if an eminently capable penalosa pulled the upset at better than 4-1,,,,,

mexico vs the philippines!!!!!!....this means war!!!!

heh whats up ?

I am invested on Penelosa parlays and crazy odds but i dont like it too much but my guy is on Peneloa. And he sure can pick the dogs. In the other figh he is (to my surprise) on de leon but not to big. I have some Bautista and will keep it probably.

I am still doing a little research. will post my wagers (props) later.

Romi if you go to the fights, enjoy it. Have a cold one on your good old german capping buddy.

I will go to the abraham fight in Berlin next.

For anybody who has not seen it here is Bautista vs Medina highlights and two other fights of Bautista :
http://http://www.clickandvideo.com/en_youtube.php?word=Bautista

If you want better quality simple google Bautista medina megaupload.

I am watching bautista medina right now and it is a fun fight to watch for sure.

I've seen Calloway and Smith fight live...both times I was sitting in the first 10 rows. I've also seen both guys fight several times on television, so I have a pretty good feel on this one. As posted, I like Calloway, esp given the odds and points handicap

When Bobby Dobbs announced that this fight was signed, I asked him where it would take place. Before he had time to respond, I insinuated that if the fight was in Tulsa/Miami OK...Smith would win a lopsided decision regardless of what happened in the ring. He played dumb and acted like he didn't know about the promotional and locational advantage his fighters have when fighting in NE OK. In fact, he acted offended to be accussed of being part of boxing politics..lol

I was ringside for Smith-Davis and Calloway-McCline...and while the decisons were correct in both cases, I scored both fights much closer than the judges had it. Calloway put up a very good fight against McCline, he won a few rounds for sure, but he was simply too small for the 6'6" 280 lb giant.

Smith was hit with some very big shots by Davis who is only 5'8". If Davis had any power behind those shots he would've done some damage as Smith seemed stunned on several occasions in that fight. Calloway is 6'3" and has much more power than Davis.

The location is a huge part of my play on Calloway at +450, but I think the +14 points handicap would cover at any location...very solid play there

Anyway, while the location will definitly help Calloway, the promotion still heavily favors Smith, who will have some crowd support as well. I think the +14 points is a great play, with the Calloway +450 as a huge bonus if it hits

Either way...gl to us

After reading your post last night i didn't have a clue who these two were. Did a little research and saw a little clip of this Calloway and thought this looks nice. Went to play it to get my friday night fix and both of my books were closed 30 min before the fight:shrug: Box i had a feeling you were gonna get robbed with a bad decision after that last round but you prevailed. I think Atlas had it scored right. Nice job.
