I just heard that Kimbrough has been down on a lot of occasions, but his hometown ref ruled most of them slips...so apparently his chin is pretty bad.

As I said earlier, I'm not crazy about Litz, but he is an accomplished amateur and he does have some skills and pop. He has relied too much on his power in the past but appears (in an interview at least) he knows he has to use his boxing. Kim is the true lightweight but Litz will have ht and reach. Kim has struggled against very questionable opp. I like Litz by dec. A little concern w/the promotion. RJ has control and there is no question in my mind that the RJ/Sheika fight was stopped VERY early. I added more on Litz and it appears last day money is going on Litz on several sites.

Campillo decisions Shumenov!

WBA light heavyweight champion Gabriel Campillo of Spain (19-2, 6 KOs) retained his title for the first time with a hard-fought, thrilling twelve-round unanimous decision over sensational Kazakh prospect Beibut Shumenov (8-1, 6 KOs). Shumenov, WBO #6, WBA #9 and WBC #15 175lber in the world, fighting for the major belt in his ninth fight as a pro, started the bout aggressively, throwing punches in bunches but mostly to the block of his opponent. Campillo was fighting smoothly, trying to counter the challenger from the distance and displaying savvy boxing skills in controlling the tempo. Kazakh Shumenov was visibly tired at the halfmark of the fight but dug deep to catch the second wind as the collision went on. In round nine already fatigued but yet powerful Shumenov floored the champion with a hard left to the chin. Campillo, seemingly on the brink of defeat, was able to regroup and fought back with the zeal. Championship rounds were back-and-fourth but the Spaniard solidified his position with a wicked left hook to the body that put Shumenov down early in the twelfth. At the end of the day, all three judges saw the battle in a favor of the defending titlist: 114-112, 114-112 and 114-113 ? for Campillo. Fightnews reporter saw it 113-113 a draw. All in all, an exciting two-way action and a strong effort by 25-year old Shumenov.

It's a good thing books didn't offer odds on that, i would have put a good amount on Shumenov.

What if the boxing Gods had put out out shu -200:scared :scared :scared :scared :scared

I have a feeling Kramer was aluding to betting the dog when he asked if anybody had seen a line on the fight. I think Shu would have been -400 to -500. Campillo would have been a nice doggy pick.

I havent seen Shu and actually just read one writer who has not been impressed. Regardless of the amateur pedigree which is crucial, it still can't replace professional world class experience. Can't say what I would have wagered but at close odds I'm sure I would have put a bundle on Shu.

Cant say I really like it but I'm on it. Both have reliable beards and neither appears to be a huge puncher. I don't like 10 1/2 for overs nor do I like -300 but this appears to be an over fight.

Alright screw it...I will be the idiot in the room.
Since I can't pick anything correctly, I am going to go against all logic tonight.

a few SMALL long shot bets:

Lacy ITD +445
Kimbrough ITD +523
Mendoza +1000

Lacy is more shot, but Jones is shot too. Hopefully he catches him early.

Litzau should win, but has a horrible chin and has fought stupid in every fight I have ever seen him in. Everything I have read about Kimbrough says his chin is even worse, but screw it.

Mendoza bet is because I hate Flores. Good logic there.

Don't follow any of these. Just trying to shake things up and secure those Litzau and Jones bets for you guys. I can't throw a rock in the ocean for two freaking months now.

Hey ghost, I wasn't going to comment, but you are a class act so I shall. When I realized I was snake bit and could'nt pick my nose right anymore, I backed off. I was so engulfed by this stuff I was LOST. I was spinning my wheels and paying for it dearly. Now I either tail one or two dudes I respect, or I have something I REALLY like and that's it. There's just so much garbage out there, it's a nightmare. For instance, I think Jones-Lacy is total crap. However, I am quite interested in Williams-Pavlik as I feel at least one of these guys really wants to fight(PM). So I'll just wait for something that makes sense, to me anyway. Ever since you got here you elevated the whole operation, so it's tuff to see you on the ropes as you say you have been. Just my 2 cents.

Appreciate the kind words frank.
You were one of the first posters I read on here before I started to contribute weekly.
My recent bad slide has been of my own stupidity (but also unbelievable bad luck). Too many fights played=opportunities for crazy shit and heartbreaking losses.

I am going to make picks for a few weeks without any money involved - just to see how I do.
I really liked Reyes last night - but he got lit up.

Most of it is just my ego being bashed. I was rocking it for a year straight. So to have two or three months like this - its hard to check yourself and take a step back.

Cheers.

I'll 2nd that. Ghost has excellent boxing instinct. At one point or another we have all been snake bit and can't seem to pick jack. Shit happens in this sport that we have no control over. No matter what, you CAN'T allow emotion to dictate your betting. I've had a few humungo losses but i honestly don't sweat em out. I'm confident in the long run, I'm going to make a profit. Be content with the small profits and they will add up after time. I've said it a hundred times and I'll say it again...NEVER make a wager that you aren't willing to part with. Hang in there Ghost. Be patient and the value will come.
