We have a winner Gallardo wins!!
I dont know how and when but pinny has paid me already.
Now get yourself some of Cazares at even money or better.
Does anybody like the dogs in Ireland? Dunne is ok but he's certainly not top level world class. He's a little chinny from what I've read. Magee is capable and has pretty good technique but he's definitely chinny having been dropped hard numerous times. Oakey is the rugged sort from what i've read but lacking in the power dept. Any comments?
Bad news fella's. I wonder if we got a bogus decision here.
Calderon dethrones Cazares!
By Miguel Planas at ringside
WBO strawweight champion Ivan Calderon (29-0, 6 KOs) moved up to the 108lb division to dethrone WBO mini-flyweight champion Hugo Cazares (25-4-1, 19 KOs) via twelve round split decision on Saturday night at the Coliseo Ruben Rodriguez in Bayamon, Puerto Rico. For the first seven rounds hometown favorite Calderon put on a boxing clinic, landing clean shots while avoiding Cazares' punches. Cazares finally got to Calderon and dropped him in round eight. Calderon spent round nine holding and running, but frustrated the attacks of Cazares over the last few rounds to win by scores of 115-112, 115-112 on two cards. Cazares was ahead 116-111 on the third card.
Wow.. that seems unbelievable
Nah no bad decision here folks. Had a bit on Cazares myself, he took 1 maybe 2 of the first 7 rounds then hurt Calderon bad in the 8th with a knockdown and for a few minutes I thought he'd get the win as Calderon was getting tired and hit more whilst backing up, Cazares won a few more late rounds but Calderon did just enough to get a close decision.
i believe if you really push it you can call it a draw but the way calderon finished you should give him the fight.
i was hoping to hear 114 to 114 after the first two score cards.
Cazares did his thing but Calderon pulled it off this night.
BTW i stopped watching Jiminez vs Matinez after the 11 round. Jiminez was unbelievable he was hurt every 2 min and really hurt but came back with good shots. I really hope he is alright.
I'm kicking myself for not playing Martinez when he got up to +165. I'm not saying I thought he would win, I just thought it was a 50/50 fight. As a rule, I play every dog of +120 or more that I think has an even chance of winning. For some reason I stayed away from this one, probably due to Martinez' less than impressive showing against the mediocre Lorenzo. Oh well
After the Gallardo winner, I found Calderon at -105 which created a decent scalp on my Cazaras +120 play. For money management purposes I put enough on Calderon to make sure I wouldn't lose money this weekend after cashing on Gallardo. Due to the hedge, I broke even on boxing this week instead of taking a hit.
However...thanks to the solid UFC cappers we have at this forum, I made some nice cash off Cote +225 and GSP -200...and still turned a profit for the week.
