After much debate, my play is Cloud.

I think the young kid is a pretty solid fighter. This combined with the fact that, to my eyes, Gonzalez seems to have lost a step his last two fights.

I watched the Reggie Johnson fight, and although I believe it was a bad decision, and Gonzalez really won the fight, it was like watching Trinidad and Jones. everything was in slow motion.

I think Cloud may be the first fighter to stop Gonzalez.

I also agree with Frank on the under. I know that Gonzalez is VERY tough. He will never quit. But I see a referee stoppage before the 10th round.

We will soon find out. Gonzalez may prove me wrong in a few hours. It's a BIG step up for Cloud, but i think he will pass the test.

Good luck to everybody tonight.

thats quite a little gamble...

I can see why the man picks him at +245, there are really a lot intangibles about cloud...

I dont know.

no kidding! i cashed it at +223, but it wasnt worth the time spent checking, or the anxiety when the line went down to +170. ended up with small gonzalez at about +240 as a result of the two bets.

i like the reasoning for those on the under, im on it as well. i took a bet on cloud by decision early that i now regret, the under is a nice contrast, if it goes over 9.5 i dont think cloud will be coming on strong. hes never been past 5 and will likely burn a lot of energy early one trying to get gonzalez out, which could happen, depending on the ref. if it goes over it could be cloud clinching and moving for a points win while gonzalez roughs him up inside, so i dont think well see a cloud win between 9.5 and 12.

Ghost; my thinking is when we get these "get em out early" type of fighters, I got to wonder how they will react IF their opponent doesn't wilt like a flower in 100 degree heat. I remember seeing Gonzalez like forever! After seeing the -400 chalk Polish guy get outpointed by a guy that NEVER had a KO, anything is possible(Sosnowski-Lawrence). I just hope it's a good one and not some blowout. GLTA.

oh god, this has not been my week. i lost cloud 12rd dec, under, and gonzalez. by 1 min.

im in the minority here, but i wouldv e let gonzalez finish. his career is over, this was his final moment as a pro in a career he's never been stopped it. i would have at least let him finish the round, then let the doc look at him.

gonzalez backers were waiting for round 8 or 9 when gonzalez would start coming on, but he didnt. he knew he was in against a legit fighter and was satisfied in keeping the distance and waiting out the bell. this wasnt margarito/cotto. i knew i had lost gonz by then, but fudge, i lost the other 2 as well.

i honestly thought the ref might step in in the 5th or 6th....that was alot of punishment he took.....

i had cloud in some pars, but,i also had gonzales very small inside(almost 5-1) and the under........

looked like gonzales lost quite a bit of snap on his punches over the years...

not much you can do....cloud did everything but hit gonzales in the head with a shovel...

i was watching on a grainy 4x5 inch stream , but it looked like a lot of the punches aside from 1, 5, and 6 didnt land clean, they hit his gloves or he moved with them, it seemed like cloud's wind-ups and the crowd cheering made them seem bigger than they were. tessitore certainly didnt help. my view was far from sharp, the actual connect points were blurry.

anyway its academic. gw i looking at you to bail me out with mma tomorrow! ;) nah i took a few parlays and played herring and mcrory as everyone else seemed to. bj penn andseron silva and fedor have saved my ass from bad boxing days before, now i need gsp, kongo and herring to do it again.

i`m not the one to look to tomorrow,n.j....

i`m do to get bludgeoned,so this weekend `s as good a time as any to get a sharp rap on the knuckles...

if florian wins, the roll continues.....if not,i`ll take the lesson in humility....

gsp and kongo should win...herring vs the goon is anybody`s guess...but i lean goon, a tad(figuratively, not with my money)...

g.l. with those plays,tomorrow,bro...

thanks gardenweasel. im too chicken to play huerta/florian, but many sharp players seem to be on it, good luck with that. your capping has been low-key but sharp with mma from what i remember, you went against the grain and got some great wins under your belt. i might toss florian in a parlay with gsp and ruiz over, you and weepaul gave concivicning write-ups.

on a final note to tonight's fight, gonzalez looks like a major fade if he fights again, like castillo-lujan. he had no snap on his punches and his legs were never beneat him, even average punches on the gloves made him lose his balance and fall to the ropes. he's done.

I had a pretty decent week and I owe a lot of thx to Evan for bringing the odds down on 2 fights...Ali and cloud. I jumped all over the lower odds and fortunately both paid off nicely. Cloud showed he is definately a player @175. I love these "slow" weeks.

boy that big polish stiff sosnowski really messed things up for me!

did very well with cloud and ouballi this week

but had a HUGE parlay with Sosnowski, Cloud, Ouballi

oh well...can't look back, only forward

Cloud impressed me tonight! what a beast at light heavyweight. yikes !

next week looks like slim pickings....Julio, Greene, and Anthony Thompson all seem to be in easy...maybe Varela can give Julio a fight?....

Nice work Ghost on the Cloud. He weathered the resistance of Gonzalez and lasted till the later rounds where I thought he would have trouble. Oh well, back to work.

thanks gw and frank

cloud really impressed me ! I think he has a bright future. stamina, power, and speed. very good.

frank, as you mentioned, a quiet couple weeks on the boxing front.

guess i will have to start researching katsidis vs. diaz and the two cards on 9/13.

i'm staying far away from all this crazy olympic stuff !

Agreed about Olympics. How can you bet a guy you never seen fight? Cloud was better than expected also. We have to see how he fares versus a guy who is fast/can punch with authority. An associate of mine like Kastidis. I'm not sold on that play yet. I am sure there is some value with the kid, but a strong opinion? Not yet.
