Geez! Did'nt know Arreola was a fat tub of lard for this one. His "opponent" is a hack, but at 258, WTF! May have to play a saver on the hack-man.

Garcia to beat Arreola. Small at +2000.

Garcia/Arreola over 5 1/2 rounds. Medium at +190.

I placed these bets as soon as I seen Arreola's weight.

Salcido to beat Escobedo. Medium at +250.

Forbes to beat Berto. Small at +700. I think Berto is going to win but I will put a few penny's on Forbes at those odds. +700 at the Greek.

2007: +12.45 units
2008: +17.635 units

I have my analysis posted in the "other" forum, but I wanted to go ahead and start posting my picks here since there are a lot of good cappers, and I like the discussion that goes on through the weekend.

1 unit on parlay of Williams-Kolle over 7.5(+105) with Arreola-Garcia under 5.5 (-260) -- to win 1.83 units
(I made this play before seeing the weigh-in results. But I'm still confident that Arreola can get Garcia out of there early.)

0.5 unit on Salcido (+300) (sportsbook line) -- to win 1.5 units

Although you disagree with the over in the Arreola fight  :toast:

This forum keeps getting stronger.

Good luck all.

I added the over on Aaerola 4 1/2 rds +140. The guy is going to eat himself out of contention. I'm not high on him like most. I honestly think he's just ordinary. His tenacity and pop is what has carried him this far but his arrogance/laziness will be his downfall. He'll get by this guy but I don't see him getting past the elite...my .02

if Arreola doesn't fulfill his potential due to bad eating habits, what a shame

he can be a superstar but to give that all up due to crap food eating :scared

i seen this guy at marquez - vasquez chugging down heinekens like spring water from a well :nono:

How confident are you guys in Salcido? It's around +170 now. Is +250 a value play, or does he have a real good shot? Im not confident to make a pick here. I was going to wait until tomorrow to see if it comes back up to +220, but it's been steadily dropping the whole day, Im thinking to act now. Thanks.

On the positive side, they let us know over plays were losers early on, that way we didn't waste valuable time watching it.

Not a good start for my weekend, with Williams looking like a beast at middleweight. I'm gonna go ahead and lock in one more:

Berto ITD (+172) (5dimes) -- 1 unit

Although Forbes has never been KO'd, he's never faced anyone as hungry, strong, and skilled as Berto. A lot of people seem to think that Forbes can go the distance based on his decent showing against De La Hoya, but I see DLH as a shell of his former self now that he's a semi-retired businessman. Forbes isn't the type of fighter who gets on his bicycle for 12 rounds in an attempt to survive, so I fully expect him to try to win this fight. As a result, he'll be forced to engage with Berto at times, and that will cause him to steadily wear down. Berto's relentless energy and heavy hands should earn him a late stoppage win.

And another...

Calloway (+1250) -- 0.1 unit

Gotta go with the "All-American Prizefighter" for a sentimental play. The one thing I know is that Calloway's going to try to win this fight, and he'll have a defined fight plan. That should result in Alexeev at least being tested for the first time in his career. Stranger things have happened...including a certain college football game last night.

yikes I won't doubt P-Will again...he crushed Koelle

Kimbrough-Clark was a draw so I break even there

I had more on the P-Will over than I did on the Arreola under, so I got to dig myself out of a little hole here

let's hope the dog Salcido can get it done tonight

still looking at Germany tomorrow

I will play G. Jones, still thinking about Zuniga and/or Virchis

Good luck guys...let's go Salcido !

"the bunker"
just watched virchis on youtube....what a weird fighter.....almost robotic....

he was fighting some guy that was around 6 inches shorter than him...

his hands were at his waist...he didn`t use his height at all...terribly slow, deliberate footwork...

apparently he can punch....he knocked the guy out, but,it was weird to watch........

hard to gauge the guy with nothing much coming back at him....

it was surreal...

After consulting my main man, Im big on Berto KO +275 and bigger on Mosley KO +112.

He sees the Mosley fight going like I do: a calm, relaxed Mosley catches a reckless Mayorga coming in with a perfect counter, ref stops it in the middle rounds. Mosley is too much of a professional with too much at stake to get stupid.

Berto is the greater risk, but he can do it. He punches in combinations and has a greater mix of speed, conditioning and power than DLH does, despite the weight gap. Berto can stop him with an accumulation in the later rounds.

Im feeling very good about this weekend.

"the bunker"
after reading all the "mayorga is a monster" posts in here,i hedged my shane inside play with a small mayorga play(just in case the sea parts and lighning strikes)....

i don`t hve an opinion on the berto/forbes distance........

berto`s bigger, younger and at more of his natural weight......and forbes has a tendency to stand in......

but, forbes is very tough and resilient....some of these guys that have never been stopped take pride in that fact...

g.l. with it,though..

Also adding:

Zuniga (+150) -- 1 unit

Zuniga's one of the most underrated fighters in the division, and I see him as being Inkin's toughest challenge. Considering that Inkin's not the sturdiest fellow (as he's been knocked down by a journeyman), I think it's very possible that Zuniga can keep this one from going to the scorecards.
