Nevermind they just updated

Forbes won by split decision 96-94 96-94 95-96

I knew it would be close fight and since it was in Quenonez' back yard I figured he would get the close rounds, oh well.

Sure wish the oddsmakers would have given us a total for that fight. The over would have been -400 but it was a lock.

i think you are right,b.l....and i don`t blame you for looking at quinonez...forbes has looked puffed and very rough around the edges recently....

when you can get an underdog at around 2-1 that you think has a real shot, you`re never wrong taking a small shot....and a split decision confirms that you were right there...

it was well worth the shot,imo...

Thanks Boxlocks. So far i like it here. Anyways for anybody who cares, HBO2 will be showing Tito-Joppy, and Mayorga-Forrest1 around 530 EST. Should get us ready for tonight. BTW i saw pictues of the weigh in, and Lacy left his shirt on. He also looked like he was really scared. Vanderpool looked very confident. I really like Vanderpool now. Also Verno Phillips didnt look to be in tiptop shape. Really on Kassim now. I just wish i didnt have all my money tied up at Bodog. they never have anything for lines on boxing. Good luck

hardcore...you aren`t talking about fightnews pictures,are you?.....

if you are,i don`t see anything that would indicate that phillips isn`t in great shape...he looks buff as hell....

i saw that lacy had his shirt on...hard to tell what`s going on there...

i couldn`t say he looked scared...

where`d you your pic`s?.....

Thanks for the headsup on the early play of the Joppy and Forrest fights. My digital cable guide shows I can see it at 4:00 CST on HBO2E and at 7:00 CST on HBO2W. Hell I might just watch it twice!

Btw...Pinnacle, 5dimes, and Olympic are the sponsor sites that cover the most boxing. I recommend pinny and dimes, oly has been a little slow getting lines up lately.

You may already know of these sites, thought I would post them for you just in case.

Anyone have any thoughts on Klitschko-Williamson under 5.5? I think this one ends very quickly.

I actually saw the pics on Maxboxing.com's message board. Verno looked in decent shape, but a little soft in the mid section... As far as Klitchko-Williamson, i see it ending very quickly. I think that maybe he wants to be careful and pacehimself, but on the other hand I think he wants to get him out of there fast and make a statement. The barrage of offense he put on Brewster would stop most of the Heavyweights out there, and Touch of Sleep doesnt have the chin to hang tough in there. I say its done in 3 rounds of less.

Watching the replay of Joppy and Forrest on HBO a few minutes ago, Mayorga looked even more sloppy than I remembered. Thought he looked much better in their second fight. Also, Tito is SUCH a sucker for the right hand. If Joppy followed it up and blocked a few punches it would have been a more competitive fight. Mayorga didnt seem bothered by getting hit. I know everyone says that Tito is such a great puncher, and he is. But if Mayorga can take a few shots, we are gonna be in for a war.. Lets get it on.

I've never seen Mayorga close to wobbly (good whiskers), but I seriously doubts he has any shot at a win by decision.

playing these for 1 unit ea...

Mayorga by KO + 355
Trinidad by decision + 246

If Mayorga can take a few, he will be in position to land a few big right hands, because Tito is a sucker for those. It could turn out to be interesting..... Good luck everybody im gonna go watch the fights

Props to Mayorga for being extremely game and giving us a great fight, back to 154 for him.

yea he did give a great effort, to behonest i didnt think he looked all that bad. I would like to see him in there with anybody at 154, i dont think anybody at that weight could hurt him. Trinidad can hit like a son of a bitch. I still think hopkins beats him though

Phillips took the first couple of rounds but Ouma's unreal work rate wore Phillips out. Phillips was almost stopped in the 11th, he could barely stand.

Vanderpool took the first couple of rounds but got caught with a huge uppercut in the 6th round and never recovered. He was stopped in the 8th.

I wasn't paying much attention to the Klitschko fight (on the other television) I was too busy watching Tito and Loco go at it. It looked pretty sloppy from what I saw. They butted heads at the end of the 5th and the fight was stopped. The cut was huge, bleeding, and directly over the inside of Klitschko's right eye. Klit won by split tech decision.

disappointed in phillips......i really thought he had a legitl shot....

hit with lacy....over in mckart/simms....inside the distance in tito/mayorga...

lost with phillips as a decent play....a small on mckart.....and lost a split decision with medoza....how many times is mendoza gonna lose split decisions to alvarez?...lol

basically a wash for me......liked the mckart over the most....but still,as a 2-1 dog,i thought phillips might get there.....

haven`t watched it....or any of the showtime card....

mckart fulfilled my fears....he`s shot....he`d walk inside and wait for simms to throw punches...couldn`t get off...i guess that`s why they chose him for a defense...i should have sensed that that was the case...i hadn`t seen him fight in years....

oh well......really disappointed in phillips.....from what i read he was hurt with another body shot.....i thought thew way he`d looked recently he might wear down ouma...not the other way around.......34 is 34....

mayorga is every bit as tough as advertised....just not nearly skillful enough to hang with trinidad...even off a layoff.....straight punches almost always beat wild, wide shots........although,he had tito`s legs wobbling once or twice....
try and get back and synopsize the showtime card tomorrow or monday....

really disappointed in phillips....particularly after seeing him look fabulous more than once.....ouma is just a little younger...and a little better...

i guess, taking a bunch of dogs,i should be happy with a wash...particularly after hitting big with hopkins last week.......

Wow...I certainly didn't count on Tito being at the top of his game. Very impressive...really didn't think Mayorga could get dropped (a modern day LaMotta). He was definitely outclassed, but seemed to have a punchers chance. This weight seems very good for Trinidad -- don't think De La Hoya could hang with him. A Hopkins rematch might be interesting.

what an amazing fight! I think Tito's performance might of scared Oscar into retirement. I would love to see a Hopkins/Tito rematch now.

I agree, Hopkins didn't look that great in the DLH fight and is getting old. Tito has a good chance at redemption if the fight happens, and I think it will.

Btw, I don't think Oscar is done and if he goes back to 154 he has a shot at winning another belt.
I expect to see him fight one of these fighters in the next 6 months...
