Ouch what a horrible week. So many disappoinments this week.

-Took a flyer on Kaye at a great price in-running only to not even smell victory. It seems everytime I get a great in-running price it never comes in.

-Went to sleep thinking O'Hern at least was top five. Perhaps I was seeing things but I saw O'Hern in fifth when I logged off. Come morning he was sixth!

-Almost took a big flyer on Stadler at 6-1 but passed due to the heavy stakes already on Singh. What was I thinking.

-Was kicking myself until late Sunday for passing on the 100-1 Cink. Its not often a player in Stan's top 10 stats is that high. I'm really surprised I didnt have coin on him this week after his demise.

Thanks again to DTB as he led me to my only winner this week. Cheers to you. :D

Ever Onward.

Between Green Bay and Iowa City
TU - You are correct about O'Hern. The final results had a 3-way tie for 5th, and then 10 minutes later they bumped Scott Gardiner ahead of an O'Hern/Webster tie. The delayed broadcast on Golf Channel pulled the same stunt. On just the golfers I am tracking, it seems to happen about 3 to 10 times a year. Usually it's not of much consequence, but I had a 3-Ball parlay last spring in which I thought Justin Leonard brought home a tie (I had one winning match left on the course), but 10 minutes later it was changed to a loss - that development cost me about $125.

It's harder than usual to feel down about the outcome when Brian Davis and John Daly emerge on top, but there was a bloody wake left after this Sunday, from Webster to Koch to Waldorf to you name it . . . Stan, like you noted, if you ever want to remember a tournament that was there for the taking, just think of Torrey Pines this year; I know you've taken some tough Sunday losses in a number of events, but I don't doubt that a fair number of right results will have your name on them.

Wagering on golf and football have one big thing in common from my perspective - any empty feeling on Sunday night is pretty much bye-bye when I start getting stoked about some ridiculous angle for the next event. . . If the punters feel bad, just think how the players feel!

Like lal2000 said when I offered him my condolences during the week after Skip Kendall(150/1), "in this game these disappointments are common." Ever Onward!

And you know what LIA - I say it again - big time this weekend - the disappointments are common!

Had a very big side shot on Luke Donald @ 125/1 and I really thought he'd pull this one off. But Daly did his stuff and that's that - no use crying over what's been spilt - time to move on. I had cover on six of the top 10 finishers, but the dilution from the 2nd and 4th places meant a much smaller return than hoped for. Still profitable but only as an event - not for the weekend as a whole.

On to Malaysia & California!
