Pettersson

Petersson drains a 15 footer, 25 footer, and then another 25 footer on 3 consecutive holes, amazing   :mj07:

I had been on Carl Pettersson many times in the early part of the season till I realized he was clearly not on his game. This week I decide to fade him with my second biggest favorite of the week @ -150 w/ JJ and watch him come to life. He never had three putts like that early in the season, I can tell you that.

Thought Wi was going to come up big this week but posting a 13 on back to back par fours is not the way to go. It will be tough to make up those five shots which dropped him into a tie for last.

Decent start for Gay. He didnt make a putt all day. Didn't hit it that close, but scrambled pretty well. Would love to see the wind pick up for the noon guys..

He's made over 153 feet of putts thru 16 holes (which he made another 23 footer on). I bet the greatest golfer on earth during the players and he made i think 36 feet worth of puts in his first round :mj07: :mj07: :violin: Just not my season.... :sadwave:

IRVING, Texas -- Matt Bettencourt's trips to the Metroplex are nothing, if not eventful.

A year ago, he wound up in the hospital with kidney stones the night before the Nationwide Tour Championship at TPC Craig Ranch in nearby McKinney. He wound up winning the tournament.

Bettencourt's sorecard

Then, Wednesday morning, he loaded his clubs in his courtesy Cadillac Escalade in the Holiday Inn Express parking lot across from the 14th hole at TPC Four Seasons and went in to have breakfast. He came back out to find his window smashed and his clubs and other valuables, including his wedding ring and watch, stolen.

"I was going to play Gleneagles, where the British Open qualifier is [on] Monday,'' he said. " . . . Came back out in 20 minutes and everything was stolen . . It sucks, but what are you going to do?''

To make things worse, the security cameras weren't working.

TaylorMade pulled a set of clubs together for him, including a new R9 460 driver and an Odessey XG putter. He was able to practice a bit yesterday afternoon, but didn't get to play with the set until Thursday's first round, where he shot a 1-over-par 71.

"They made something very similar to mine, but shafts and clubs are different,'' he said. "You have to figure out distance.''

And you're out of your comfort zone, especially with your driver and, in his case, the Itsy Bitsy putter he's used for the last 15 months. But he said the toughest part was the distances. He doubled the 15th coming in and bogeyed the 16th.

"I hit some bad shots today, but held my round together,'' Bettencourt said. " . . . My irons were a couple yards off. Everything's so precise. Cost me two strokes on 16.''

With that, he headed in for lunch, then on to the range to work with this set of clubs. He'll get a new set made to his specs next week.

The good news? He likes the driver. And he's proven he can bounce back from a tough situation. Especially here in the Metroplex.

ok took last week of had to weigh all my money that i won at the players. First lets all say a prayer for Amy Mickelson. I have never seen her with out a smile on her face. What a postive person she is and has a great man in phil and family behind her. You are in my prayers.

Exactly,
I dont like phil at all, i think he is a complete phony, but together they are a cute couple. Get well Amy :mj06:

tv said he was going through swing changes

yeah, i put way to much weight on his result from last week, and course history here. He's missing these fairways and greens by a good 7 yards. Why can't I ever back someone who shoots a 65 :142smilie :142smilie

At least Carl made up for it by butchering the last hole. Now maybe if JJ can get going, that match could look good.
