Cashier's Check refund question.

I was sent a certified check (supposedly) and it was cashed, I never received it, the guy disputed with his bank and bank gave a refund. I asked him where the check was cashed cause I wanted to see if the check was cashed in my area. Guy said bank would not give him that info, I am going to ask my bank tomorrow if I do not get the answer here. I think the guy is Bullshitting me. I would think the bank would want to give out that info.

Well not exactly, it's been a run around since, it's over Fantasy football to be exact, this is from a guy who has been a loyal player for football and baseball with me for years and as always paid.. Early. Yet this year he says he had resent a check then no check then he blamed wife for not sending it, then apparently last Monday he says he resent check and nothing came. So he and his son are playing so he is paying for two entry fees. I give him the benefit of a doubt cause I am a fool or too nice to people but he has sent several emails apologizing I take the bait. Well his son is second over all and has some money coming and is in good position to win more money in playoffs. I told him that he better pay via MG, go to walmart and go to MG today and then I get an email that he will do before Saturday. If he doesn't he is going to have to pay his son, I don't care if he takes first place, he won't receive a dime for taking a free shot. I know I let this go for too long but really after a month was in too deep and would not have been able to sell teams off cause they were mediocre then his son's team won like 7 in a row, so I think he was going to stiff the entire time, but now he is in a Pickle cause his son's team is doing so good, it won't look good at home. Again I have his son's email and too nice as I have not disclosed this with his son. Just in shock as we have done all of this over the years and even the MLB 33 boards too.

Pay the kid less what dad owes if he wins, don't punish the kid for the dad not paying, that's not right in my opinion.

Yeah but I can't allow people to take free shots especially when it would have been a chump if not for a dramatic turn around, plus if Child has a beef, I have no idea how old, he can collect from father. He has 2 days to pay via MG. I will not keep the winnings, it will be divided among the rest of owners who are in playoffs or invite everyone back next year and add it, My team is out so im not being selfish

My 2 cents,

Since they haven't paid their entry fee, it's an unfair ride they are getting.

Moreso, it's unfair to the rest of the players.

If he hasn't paid by the deadline, DQ the teams from the playoffs and bump everyone up in the playoff picture.

Either redistribute the winnings back amongst all the players equally, like a small rebate they get on their entry fee.
or
Take the winnings that would have been won and distribute them amongst the remaining games/prize pool for people to win.

You shouldn't even hesitate to do this.

This is where I am leaning. .. I don't think anyone would have objections. I just never thought I would get the runaround from someone who has sent me a check may 8 - 10 times over the years.

He's completely taking a free shot! Even if he dens you the money now, I wouldn't accept it. Do what the others have said, and drop those two from the game, and pay the others. If you don't, you become a double idiot.
