Sounds like you may finally get your wish......Les is likely the Michigan coach, but Hoke is still in play.

If Les is Michigan coach then I can't wait to see how LSU goes after. That's a BIG job for someone. Great recruiting base and only major school in the state.

That would be the dumbest move they could make... If Michigan wants excitement then they need to go after Hoke... He is an amazing coach with a TON of upside...

Remember there is a big difference in giving the fans excitement and giving them heart attacks

Corley, I don't agree man. I never thought Miles was a good coach but it's hard to argue with his winning %. His recruiting has remained the same after Saban left, many thought it would drop and his winning is great considered he's in the toughest division in football.

Les is the highest paid coach in the SEC by $1,000... I believe... But Les has it made at LSU as long as he is winning... Recruiting wise LSU doesn't have hardly any competition for recruiting in state... At Michigan it will be different... Plus he is in a better conference

I agree with you there and I wouldn't leave it I was Les. I was talking about what you said in your previous post but maybe I misunderstood you when you said that it would be a dumb move on their part. Why would it be dumb for Michigan?

I'm just saying that Michigan would probably want to go after a better coach... I'm not saying Les is bad but let's face it... The man doesn't win because he's a good coach... :mj07:

Winning in college football isn't all about being a good "coach." The guy can recruit and like it or not he does win.

There's a reason LSU hired him after Saban left.

What's makes Miles less of a coach than any other coach in college football? IMO he's right up there with the top guys even though it doesn't seem like he should be.

I'm not arguing that he can't recruit... He does a great job there... But if I'm Michigan I just don't see anything about him that makes me want to go after him... Plus with the money he makes at LSU... Michigan would have to pay him a lot more and I don't think it's worth it to them... Just my humble opinion :0008

LSU's name speaks for itself... Plus he has no competition in Louisiana...

Pre Saban it didn't speak very loudly. Yeah Saban started it but Les has held his own. There are a lot of schools who's name speaks for itself but without a good coach that's just not enough anymore. Arkansas is in much the same situation, only school in the state and what use to be big time tradition but they haven't done a whole lot up until this year.

I would love to see Peterson at a big time program. Although I do sometimes think things change for coaches like that. When they get the lower end players those kids give it there all and will do anything the coach said. I think once you start getting 5* and 4* players it can change the dynamics. IMO the best example of this is Stoops. I just don't think his teams play like they use to and don't seem to play as smart.

Maybe I'm off base but it seems like some coaches just do better with the kid who will run thru a brick wall for them over the kid that is just buying time until he makes it to the league.

As I mentioned around here last month, he would be a good, although clearly not a "sexy", hire for Meech. Miles has no sound reason aside from passion for his alma mater to leave LSU, which would appear to be a top 6-10 national job, to rebuild a Michigan program in obvious disarray.

I would not want Miles to leave now because LSU has a nice recruiting class, with a couple of studs on the fence including CJ Johnson, Ray Drew and Tim Jernigan. Aub is already taking the #2 Louisiana running back, Jeremy Hill, via silent commitment(By the way his mother will receive a job in Opelika;)), and Lousiana's #2 or #3 OL prospect in Greg Robinson, whose best friend Trovon Reed currenlty plays at Auburn. A coaching change now would likely lead to some further losses of in-state talent, not to mention losing the chance at the above-mentioned out of state studs.

If he is gone, I am eager to see a list of possible candidates, but would not want Pellini here because he lacks class imo. I heard Petrino would be a top candidate and is highly intersted in the job. Interesting times ahead on the bayou, or so it would appear:popcorn2

Glad someone noted that Auburn is robbing some of the top players in Louisiana from LSU. Miles seems to losing ground on some of the big names and would probably benefit LSU by leaving.
