Damn. Just received a 6am text mssg from friend indicating the staff now feeling Miles is taking the Meech job:shrug: Hard to believe, really. He has a full cupboard and the opportunity to run at SEC titles the next 3 seasons. Frosh are all over the field, and 4 of the top 32 high school players this season(per rivals) are coming to Baton Rouge:shrug:

A HC change this late in the game will kill our recruiting class, particularly of the RB coach is not retained. He holds the keys to this class, and he recruits NOLA like no other.

Oh well, hope it is bad info......

Its his alma mater and thats fine but he will not get the recruits he got at LSU.

Does the OC at Auburn have a shot at this job?

He is on mssg board lists. I would not be interested in him, but who knows what direction they will look to go in. Skip Holtz near top of list. Not sure what to think about it......

This make no sense from either side.

Hard to believe how long it this has taken. I have no inside sources. In fact, I have far better info at Bama than LSU.

Originally, the story I was told is that Miles wants the best for Meech. He does not want to be on a list of candidates that turned down Meech. So, he would privately decline and it would be leaked that Miles would accept if offered.

Same person told me that Meech does not want Miles, but are playing the game in order to appease their base, who wants Miles badly. They would interview Miles, and both would go their separate ways.

Now, I am told that family of LSU staff are concerned.

It could all be false for all I know, but figured I would pass it along...

You are correct Cie that there is some thought out there that this is a charade and that Dave Brandon's end goal is to appease the faction of UM alums/players/boosters who are still peeved he was never offered or even really pursued in '07.

Miles put the heat on Brandon yesterday by leaking that "he would take the job if offered". If this truly was/is a charade than Brandon is going to have an awful tough time turning Les into the bad guy this time around.

Shembechler Hall is being prepared for new coaches and Brandon is back in Ann Arbor, indicating the search is over. That doesn't necessarily mean it's Miles, but there hasn't been a confirmed Hoke interview yet.

Also, a former UM player VERY close to the Miles family told a friend "sleep well tonight" last night around 11:00PM, indicating he's coming.

Add all this up and I think both teams will be told Les is going to Michigan today, but nothing confirmed as of this moment.

Different Les Miles thread

So he's gone, but now he's not?

You would be surprised at the number of calls, texts and emails I have received in the past few days both asking me and telling me about the situ. Some much info, that it ws hard to decipher.

Glad it's over.......
