Game of the Night - 76ers at Nuggets, 9:05 p.m. ET

There are a pair of potential NBA Finals previews to dissect on Friday night ? three if you?re a big believer in upstart Miami ? so we?ll get an early look at how much passion these top contenders are bringing to the table during the season?s opening stretch.

You can find notes on Bucks-Jazz and Heat-Lakers below, but the most compelling matchup on the schedule features the 76ers closing out a four-game Western swing in Denver.

Not only does it feature the rare matchup pitting MVP candidates Joel Embiid and Nikola Jokic, it will also show us how Philadelphia intends to run offense without point guard Ben Simmons, who suffered a sprained AC joint in Wednesday?s loss in Utah and will be re-evaluated prior to Sunday?s home date with Charlotte.

It wouldn?t at all be surprising if this injury knocks him out a few games if the Sixers opt for the cautious approach with their All-Star point guard, especially since they?ll be favored at home against Hornets and Cavs without him and would probably be able to a handle a three-game mid-month roadie filled with stops in Orlando, Cleveland and Oklahoma City if he sat out.

Simmons has had a strange season in that he?s had seven steals in the same game twice already but still hasn?t attempted a single 3-pointer despite vowing to keep defenses honest by at least taking them. Now this shoulder thing may further derail that inclination. The 6-foot-10 point guard has struggled in the fourth quarter and seems averse to taking it hard to the rim for fear of getting to the free-throw line after shooting 44 percent in October?s first four games, but he?d made six of seven on the road trip, helping defeat the Blazers before shooting just 2-fo-8 in Monday?s loss in Phoenix.

Joel Embiid returned from his two-game suspension for fighting Karl-Antony Towns and was on the court for only a handful of minutes alongside Simmons before the point guard was injured banging into Royce O?Neale with 5:20 left in the second quarter. The 76ers led by two points at the time and ultimately lost by a bucket after being unable to overcome their 17-point third quarter. Embiid went for 27 points and 16 rebounds, but struggled against Rudy Gobert once again in shooting just 5-for-16 from the field.

The season hasn?t gone as expected for the self-proclaimed game?s top big men, who can indeed become great enough to live up to billing. Embiid sprained an ankle in the opener and missed a game, returned and scored 36 points against an Atlanta before his encounter with Towns, so he?s been on the floor for the equivalent of roughly three normal games. He got to the free-throw line for 18 free-throws against the Jazz, making 16, and is likely to be the focal point once again as he tries to move to a perfect 4-0 in one-on-one matchups with Jokic.

Embiid shot 4-for-17 when these teams got together most recently back in February. The Sixers won at home 117-110, overcoming Jokic?s 27 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists despite him completely outplaying his counterpart. Not surprisingly, Jimmy Butler closed while Simmons attempted just one shot and was charged with four turnovers. Embiid also took part in wins in his first season in 2016 and in a blowout in ?18 and helped Philly win as a rookie by stripping Jokic, scoring and knocking down key free-throws in the closing stages.

Jokic has more than held his own despite the losses but has slumped of late, shooting 4-for-20 from 3-point range over his last six games and averaging just 12.2 points, 8.2 rebounds and 5.4 assists over his last five. That?s usually a productive half for the Joker, who beat out Embiid for First-Team All-NBA honors last season, so we?ll see if this visit serves to energize him. The Nuggets overcame his foul trouble and turnover issues as he played just 23 minutes in a 109-89 blowout of the Heat, Denver?s most impressive effort of the season.

Nuggets head coach Michael Malone has already called his team out for a lack of effort and intensity, which makes this a great opportunity to show up in a statement game after they were blown out in New Orleans in a nationally-televised contest on Halloween night.

Forward Paul Millsap was limited in practice on Thursday after banging heads with Justise Winslow. The Miami forward missed Thursday?s win at Phoenix and has been placed in concussion protocol, while Millsap is said to be nursing a forehead laceration but isn?t on the injury report. Starting shooting guard Gary Harris sprained an ankle but is also expected to be out there for this matchup with the 76ers.

Josh Richardson will probably see more ball-handling duties with rookie stopper Matisse Thybulle and backup Raul Neto likely to get more minutes as a result of Simmons? absence.

Guard Shake Milton is still nursing a bone bruise, so wing James Ennis could get more minutes or Trey Burke may find himself included in Brown?s rotation. Simmons has only missed four games since finally getting on the floor after missing the entirety of what would?ve been his rookie season, so this will be new for Philly, which can at least rely on newcomers Richardson an Al Horford to be more aggressive alongside Embiid and Tobias Harris. Furkan Korkmaz, who defeated the Blazers on this trip with a 3-pointer just before the buzzer last Saturday, could also be relied upon to help spread the floor.

The ?under? is 5-2 in games involving each of these teams this season. Denver is just 1-2 against the number at home with a one-point win and three-point loss to its credit prior to hammering Miami on Tuesday. Philadelphia is 3-2 ATS on the road so far after covering 2.5 points on a Richardson jumper at the buzzer that provided the final points in a 106-104 loss. The teams have split the eight meetings between head coaches Brown and Malone.

Games to watch

Kings (-1.5/219) at Hawks, 7:35 p.m. ET De'Aaron Fox owns wins in both head-to-head matchups Trae Young and made State Farm Arena his playground in a 146-115 rout on Nov. 1 of last season. Fox was held to 4-for-10 from the field in a 135-113 rout of Atlanta in Sacramento back in Februrary that featured a 20-point breakout game from Harry Giles off the bench on 10-for-12 shooting. Giles is questionable tonight but has yet to debut. Former Hawks' starting center Dewayne Dedmon suffered a knee sprain in Toronto and is questionable. Richaun Holmes would therefore get extended run against a John Collins-less Hawks frontcourt. Sacramento has won four of the last five matchups. Five of the last six meetings between the teams have been decided by double-digits.

Raptors (-2.5/234.5) at Pelicans, 8:05 p.m. ET Toronto is opening a five-game road trip and has won just one of its three games outside Canada, blowing out Chicago while losing to fellow East heavyweights Boston and Milwaukee. The Pels fell 130-122 in the season opener and have only won once all season. All but one of New Orleans' seven games have gone 'over' the posted total. Guard Lonzo Ball is going to play, but J.J. Redick is questionable due to knee trouble.

Bucks (-1.5/218) at Jazz, 9:05 p.m. ET After a dominant performance against the Kawhi Leonard-less Clippers, reigning MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo will see reigning Defensive Player of the Year Rudy Gobert, against whom he's got a 3-7 against in head-to-head clashes. The teams split last season's games, but "Greek Freak" finished with 43 points, 14 boards and eight assists in the loss, a 115-111 result in Salt Lake City back in March. Gobert was on the floor less than 20 minutes due to foul trouble but Donovan Mitchell picked up the Jazz with 46 points. Antetokounmpo has averaged 35.8 points, 12.3 rebounds and five assists over his last four contests against Utah. Jazz backups Emmanuel Mudiay and Ed Davis have both been ruled out.

Nets at Blazers (-2.5/233), 10:05 p.m. ET Coming off Thursday's disappointing loss to the Clips, the Blazers return home looking to avoid a fourth straight defeat. Lillard has won the last three head-to-head matchups with Irving and both scored over 30 when they met back in February as the Blazers defeated the Celtics. Irving once hit 11 3-pointers with the Cavs against the Lillard-led Blazers and has seen his counterpart drop a 40-point game, so they'll be looking to cook one another. Hassan Whiteside will look to build on a much stronger second half vs. L.A. after being called out by Shaquille O'Neal and Charles Barkley on TNT's halftime show on Thursday. He may not have to deal with DeAndre Jordan, who is nursing an ankle sprain and considered questionable as Brooklyn opens a five-game road trip.

Heat at Lakers (-8.5/215.5), 10:35 p.m. ET Pat Riley and Dwyane Wade will both be in attendance to see how Miami fares against LeBron James in his new digs, and they obviously won't be the only celebrities in the house. With Heat wing Winslow in concussion protocol, Erik Spoelstra may be down a defender who can help relieve pressure off Jimmy Butler against James, so keep an eye on his availability. Bam Adebayo will try and contain Anthony Davis, while Avery Bradley may return from a lower right leg contusion to help defend impressive rookies Kendrick Nunn and Tyler Herro in addition to sixth man Goran Dragic. L.A is looking for its seventh straight win and has covered in five of six. Miami is 6-1-1 ATS this season.

SLOW MOTION

The Indiana Pacers and Detroit Pistons rank 19th and 20th in points per game respectively, but efficiency isn?t an issue ? pace is. Both teams rank in the Bottom 10 in possessions per game.

The Pacers are holding opponents to the ninth lowest scoring average at home with 103.8 points on 42.4 percent shooting. Expect defense to be an emphasis for both squads which is why we?re betting the game total Under 211.5 at PointsBet.


PICK YOUR POISON

The Orlando Magic host the Memphis Grizzlies as 7-point home favorites tonights. The Magic are surrendering the second fewest points per game overall and the fourth lowest at home with 95.5 on 41.1 percent shooting against. Orlando is exceptionally good at defending the paint, allowing the second lowest points at home this season with 38 inside the key.

This is a difficult matchup for the Grizzlies Jonas Valanciunas, who?s shooting the lowest field goal percentage of his career at 47.8 percent. With Valanciunas off to a slower start offensively and averaging only 21.7 minutes per game, we like betting Under his points total of 13.5.


HOME ON THE RANGE

Milwaukee is a 3-point road favorite at Utah tonight but this is a tough spot for the Bucks, who have historically struggled when visiting the Jazz. They?re also playing their third road game of the week in the thin air of Salt Lake City, which can sap the energy out of away teams.

Milwaukee averages a league-high 122 points per outing on 47.7 percent shooting but faces a Jazz defense allowing only an average of only 94 points on its home court on 41.1 percent shooting. Take the Jazz on the spread getting three at home.


JUMP ON JOKIC

The Denver Nuggets are 5-point home favorites as they host the Philadelphia 76ers. Ben Simmons is out for Friday's contest for Philadelphia while Paul Millsap and Gary Harris are listed as probable for the host team.

Denver's Nikola Jokic is off to a slower start this season, but really seems to step up when playing against some of the league's best. In two prior meetings versus the 76ers last season, Jokic recorded a triple-double in both, putting up a combined 59 points, 20 assists and 28 rebounds in those two outings. We like the Over on his points, rebounds, assists total of 35.5.


NOT EASY BEING GREEN

The Los Angeles Lakers are 9-point favorites as they host the Miami Heat with the game total set at 216.5. The Lakers enter with the 16th-ranked offense, averaging 111 points a contest. The Heat, on the other hand, have noticeable home/away splits on offense, averaging 120.3 points on their home court and only 111.8 points away from South Beach.

Miami is one of best teams at defending small forwards, giving up just 16.9 points a game on 34.8 percent shooting to the position. With Lakers SF Danny Green attempting eight field goals a game on the season and only nine total shots in his two most recent games, there?s good value betting the Under on his point total of 9.5 Friday night.

13) One of the unusual things about college basketball is that once you beat a team in a non-conference game, you root like hell for that team the rest of the year, since that team?s success makes your win even sweeter, worth more to the NCAA selection committee.

Saint Mary?s just had an excellent neutral court win over Wisconsin; now the Gaels have to root for Wisconsin the rest of the year. Should the Badgers stumble and have a cruddy year, then that win would be devalued. WCC teams other than Gonzaga need as many quality wins as they can get if they want an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament.

12) One thing about these November college hoop games; NCAA is still doing transfer waivers, so kids are becoming eligible almost on the fly; Portland State/Cal-Riverside had kids get their waivers approved in the last couple of days. The right kid makes a big difference.

11) Memphis 92, UIC 46? Memphis freshman C James Wiseman, one of the nation?s best freshmen, was ruled ineligible by the NCAA late Friday afternoon, but was allowed to play Friday after a temporary restraining order issued by a Memphis court reinstated Wiseman.

The issue is apparently something about Memphis coach Penny Hardaway helping pay the family?s moving expenses (around $11,500) two years ago, when Hardaway was Wiseman?s high school coach.

Ill-Chicago was missing three of its best players in this game, which was very ugly.

10) Get well soon to Wheel of Fortune host Pat Sajak, who had emergency intestinal surgery this week. Vanna White filled in as host for a few episodes.

9) Hall of Fame RB Terrell Davis, who played his whole NFL career for the Denver Broncos, had his 8 year-old son removed from a youth football team and placed on a different team, because the original team?s name was the Raiders. Alrighty then.

8) Auburn 76, Davidson 66? Takes onions to schedule Davidson; they?re very well-coached, and have enough talent to beat a Power 5 opponent, but Auburn did and gets a solid neutral court win in Annapolis.

7) NFL stuff:

Celtics lose Hayward to injury, beat Spurs for 7th straight

SAN ANTONIO (AP) Jaylen Brown scored 30 points and the Boston Celtics routed the San Antonio Spurs 135-115 on Saturday in a victory that was tempered by the loss of Gordon Hayward, who broke his left hand late in the first half.

Kemba Walker add 26 points as Boston (7-1) won its seventh straight game and set season highs for total points, first quarter scoring (39 points) and first half scoring (72 points).

There was a somberness to the victory, though, as Hayward suffered his second significant injury since signing with the Celtics three seasons ago.

The Boston forward broke his left hand after colliding with San Antonio's LaMarcus Aldridge with just over a minute remaining in the first half. Hayward was sent for an X-ray that confirmed the diagnosis. He did not return to the game. The Celtics said Hayward will miss at least a month and he could undergo surgery, according to coach Brad Stevens.

DeMar DeRozan had 22 points for the Spurs (5-4), who trailed by as many as 22 points.

Boston has not lost since dropping its season opener to Philadelphia, 107-93, on Oct. 23. The Celtics have outscored their opponents 115-101 since that opening loss and raised that dominance against the Spurs.

PELICANS 115, HORNETS 110

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) - Brandon Ingram had 25 points and nine rebounds, and New Orleans overcame 26 turnovers to beat Charlotte and snap a three-game losing streak.

JJ Redick had 22 points on five 3-pointers and Jrue Holiday added 12 points and 11 assists for the Pelicans (2-7).

Ingram, who was born and raised in Kinston, North Carolina, finished 8 of 12 from the field and had 10 points in the fourth quarter while the Hornets went cold down the stretch.

Devonte Graham led the Hornets with 24 points and 10 rebounds. Terry Rozier had 18 points. However, both players shot 5 of 14 from the field as the Hornets were limited to 41% shooting as a team.

ROCKETS 117, BULLS 94

CHICAGO (AP) - James Harden narrowly missed his first triple-double of the season, finishing with 42 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists as Houston pulled away in the second half and beat Chicago.

Russell Westbrook scored 26 points as the Rockets won their third straight.

Wendell Carter Jr. had 13 points and 16 rebounds for Chicago, which has dropped six of eight.

The Bulls were a woeful 4-for-32 shooting from 3-point range.

MAVERICKS 138, GRIZZLIES 122

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - Luka Doncic fell just short of a triple-double with 24 points, 14 rebounds and eight assists to lead Dallas over Memphis.

Doncic recorded his stats in three quarters as Mavericks coach Rick Carlisle sat the second-year guard while Dallas maintained a double-digit lead in the final period. Kristaps Porzingis already had taken the night off recovering from a left knee injury.

Tim Hardaway Jr. added 20 points for Dallas, Justin Jackson had 17 points and Seth Curry scored 16, all in the first half.

Jaren Jackson Jr. led Memphis with 23 points on 10-for-17 shooting from the field, including a pair of 3-pointers. Jae Crowder added 18 points for the Grizzlies, which lost their second straight.

THUNDER 114, WARRIORS 108

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Danilo Gallinari scored 19 points, Dennis Schroder added 18, and Oklahoma City beat short-handed Golden State.

Chris Paul had 16 points and nine assists, Steven Adams scored 13 and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander added 12 to help the Thunder beat the Warriors for the second time this season. Oklahoma State has won three of its last four games.

D'Angelo Russell scored 17 of his 30 points in the third quarter to lead Golden State, including a 3-pointer at the buzzer to tie the score at 84-all heading to the fourth. One night earlier, Russell had 52 against Minnesota.

Alec Burk had 23 points for the Warriors, and Glenn Robinson III finished with 18.

LOS ANGELES (AP) Pascal Siakam had 24 points and 11 rebounds, Fred VanVleet finished with 23 points and 10 assists and the Toronto Raptors snapped the Los Angeles Lakers' seven-game winning streak with a 113-104 victory Sunday night.

Chris Boucher matched his career high with 15 points for the Raptors, who have won three straight and six of seven. The defending NBA champions played without two key regulars after losing starter Kyle Lowry to a broken left thumb and top reserve Serge Ibaka to a sprained right ankle, but Toronto still rallied in the fourth quarter and hung on late for its 10th consecutive win over the Lakers.

Anthony Davis scored 27 points and LeBron James had 13 points, 15 assists and 13 rebounds in his 85th career triple-double, but the Lakers lost for the first time since opening night against the Clippers.

Toronto led 104-92 with 3:50 to play on Terence Davis' third 3-pointer after a rally by four reserves and Siakam, but Kyle Kuzma hit back-to-back 3-pointers while LA scored eight straight points.

The Lakers then missed four consecutive 3-pointers with the chance to pull even, and Siakam threw down back-to-back dunks on the fast break to seal it.

Norman Powell scored 14 points while starting in Lowry's spot for Toronto.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Nikola Jokic hit a fadeaway jumper with 2.4 seconds left in overtime to lift Denver past Minnesota.

Jokic had 20 points, six rebounds and seven assists to help Denver win its fourth straight game. Will Barton had 13 points, including a pair of 3s in overtime, and 12 rebounds. Paul Millsap scored all 14 of his points during a big third-quarter run and had 10 rebounds.

Karl-Anthony Towns had 25 points and 16 rebounds for Minnesota. Towns sent it to overtime with a corner 3, but the Wolves shot a season-low 13.3% from 3-point range and 35.1% overall from the field.

Andrew Wiggins added 25 points in Minnesota's third loss in four games.

PHOENIX (AP) - Devin Booker scored 27 points and hit four 3-pointers, Ricky Rubio added a season-high 22 points and 12 assists and Phoenix routed Brooklyn.

Booker was 10 of 14 from the field, making 4 of 5 3-pointers, hit all three of his free throws and had nine assists.

Kelly Oubre Jr. added 18 points, rookie Cameron Johnson had a career-high 15. The Suns trailed just once, at 1-0.

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) - Domantas Sabonis had 21 points, 16 rebounds and seven assists in Indiana's victory over Orlando,

Malcolm Brogdon and T.J. Warren scored 19 points each to help the Pacers win for the sixth time in seven games. Doug McDermott had 18 points and T.J. McConnell added 12 points and eight assists.

Evan Fournier scored 22 points to lead Orlando. Nikola Vucevic had 18 points and 17 rebounds.

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Giannis Antetokounmpo had 35 points and 16 rebounds to help Milwaukee rally and beat Oklahoma City.

Antetokounmpo scored 24 points in the second half. Eric Bledsoe added 25 points and nine assists for the Bucks, who have won five of six.

Dennis Schroder scored 25 points and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander added 22 for the Thunder, who had won three straight home games.

Oklahoma City's Danilo Gallinari hit a 3-pointer with 32.3 seconds left to tie the game at 114, but Milwaukee's Brook Lopez made a 3-pointer at the other end with 24.5 seconds remaining.

Gallinari missed a clean look at a 3, before Milwaukee's George Hill made two free throws with 10.5 seconds left to put the Bucks in control.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - Damian Lillard scored 30 points and Portland outlasted Atlanta in overtime to snap a four-game losing streak.

Kent Bazemore made back-to-back 3-pointers to open the extra period, sending the Blazers to their first win at home this season.

Trae Young had 35 points and 10 assists for Atlanta.

NEW YORK (AP) - Collin Sexton scored 31 points and Cleveland beat New York.

Kevin Love and Jordan Clarkson each added 17 points for Cleveland (4-5), which has its first winning streak of the season. The Cavaliers were coming off a 113-100 win over Washington on Friday.

Heat suspend G Waiters for 10 games

MIAMI (AP) Dion Waiters has been handed a 10-game suspension by the Miami Heat, with the team citing multiple examples of conduct detrimental to the team as the reason for his second banishment of the season.

The suspension was announced Sunday. It comes three days after Waiters, according to a person with direct knowledge of the matter, was treated for a medical emergency that started on the Heat charter flight Thursday night from Phoenix to Los Angeles.

Waiters, according to the person who spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because neither the team nor the player has confirmed details publicly, ingested at least one cannabis-infused edible and had a reaction serious enough that medical attention was required when the plane landed in Los Angeles.

''We are very disappointed in Dion's actions this season that include the very scary situation on Thursday night, and grateful that the outcome wasn't worse,'' the Heat said in a statement.

Waiters was also suspended for Miami's season opener after a series of incidents in the preseason and conflicts with coach Erik Spoelstra. His reaction on social media to the first suspension was also not well-received by Miami officials, and Waiters has not appeared in any of the nine Heat games so far this season.

The 10-game suspension, which will likely cost Waiters at least $834,483 in salary, began with Miami's loss at the Lakers on Friday. The earliest he could return to Miami's lineup would be Dec. 1, when the Heat visit Brooklyn. But that would seem most unlikely, and Waiters' future with the franchise is in serious doubt.

It's unclear what, if any, contact he will have with the team during the suspension.

Waiters is in his fourth Heat season, the on-court portion of that best remembered by his game-winning 3-pointer to beat Golden State 105-102 on Jan. 23, 2017 - part of Miami's 30-11 finish that season after an 11-30 start.

He was rewarded that summer with a four-year contract worth $47.3 million, plus about $5 million more in possible incentives for playing a certain number of games. Waiters has yet to even get close to that bonus money, and he would have needed to play in 70 of Miami's 73 remaining games to claim the extra $1.1 million at stake this season.

That is obviously not going to happen.

Waiters has never made more than 46 appearances in a year since coming to Miami. He's been in only 120 games with the Heat, missing many because of ankle injuries and surgery on his ankle and foot.

Waiters is a career 13.2-point scorer and has averaged 14 points per game while with the Heat.

Miami is off to a 6-3 start without Waiters this season, and play their next five games against teams with records currently below the .500 mark.

''We are proud of how our players have started the season,'' the Heat said in Sunday's statement. ''We expect all of our players, including Dion, to conduct themselves in accordance with the highest standards, and to show professionalism and respect for their teammates, the team, the fans and the NBA community.''

Celtics' Hayward breaks hand in S.A.

SAN ANTONIO (AP) Boston Celtics forward Gordon Hayward will miss at least a month with a broken left hand after colliding with San Antonio's LaMarcus Aldridge on Saturday night.

The Celtics say Hayward was sent for an X-ray that confirmed the diagnosis. Hayward, who did not return to the game, could undergo surgery that will keep him out a few weeks to a month, Boston coach Brad Stevens said.

''Going to get with the doctors tomorrow and decide if he needs to do surgery or not,'' Stevens said. ''Sounds like should he decide that the surgery option (is best, it) might actually be a better timeline. So, we'll see what that all plays out to be.''

Hayward winced in pain after banging his left hand against Aldridge's chest attempting to get past the Spurs forward on a screen late in the first half. Hayward appeared to jam the hand once or twice more against Aldridge before exiting the game.

Hayward had nine points and two rebounds in 15 minutes before exiting. He is averaging 20.3 points this season for the Celtics, who have won six straight entering Saturday's game.

The 6-foot-7 forward missed most of the 2017 season after breaking his leg six minutes into Boston's season opener.

''This one doesn't feel near as bad as it did two years ago,'' Stevens said. ''So, he'll be back. Be off for a few weeks or a month or whatever it is.''

Raptors' Lowry, Ibaka out indefinitely

TORONTO (AP) Raptors point guard Kyle Lowry and center Serge Ibaka will be out indefinitely after injuries against the New Orleans Pelicans.

Lowry fractured his left thumb during the first quarter of Friday night's 122-104 victory. The team said Saturday he will be re-evaluated in two weeks.

Ibaka sprained his right ankle and will undergo additional imaging in Los Angeles, where Toronto plays the Lakers on Sunday and the Clippers and former teammate Kawhi Leonard on Monday.

Lowry is averaging 21.8 points and 6.5 assists. Ibaka is averaging 14.0 points and 6.5 rebounds.

Lowry went to the bench after he was hurt but returned a few minutes later. He made two 3-pointers in the second quarter before subbing out midway through the period and retreating to the locker room.

He said after the game the injury is unrelated to the surgery he had in July to repair ligaments in the same thumb.

Ibaka was in a walking boot after the game. He was injured when he contested a layup by Brandon Ingram with about a minute remaining in the second quarter. Ibaka lay on the floor, writhing in pain as play continued, before a Toronto foul allowed two teammates to help him limp off the floor.
