Armadillo: Tuesday's six-pack

Some college football spreads for this fall:

Nov 2? Oregon (-1) @ USC

Nov 16? Georgia (-7.5) @ Auburn

Nov 23? UCLA @USC (-5)

Nov 23? Penn State @ Ohio State (-10.5)

Nov 29? Iowa @ Nebraska (even)

Nov 30? Alabama (-13) @ Auburn

**********

Armadillo: Tuesday's List of 13: Nobody asked me, but??

13) Angels played in Seattle Sunday afternoon, played a makeup game in Wrigley Field on Monday, and host the A?s in Anaheim tonight; that is 3,462 miles in three days, the 3rd-most miles any MLB team has travelled in a 3-day period.

12) As of Monday afternoon, there were 806 players in the college basketball transfer portal; with 353 D-I hoop teams, that works out to 2.28 players per team.. Thats a lot.

178 of the transfers are grad transfers, who are immediately eligible.

11) Michigan coach Juwan Howard did a very smart thing Monday and hired former longtime St Joe?s head coach Phil Martelli as an assistant. Guys who are new head coaches need an experienced voice to help them avoid some of the pitfalls of their job.

10) When you watch and read about the baseball draft, keep in mind that Mike Trout was the 25th pick in the 2009 MLB Draft. Scouting/drafting is an inexact science.

9) On May 1st, Minnesota Twins were 20-1 to win the World Series; 33 days later, they?re down to 13-2 to win the Series.

8) Sports betting legislation passed in Illinois this week; meanwhile here in New York, we have crickets??nothing happening. NFL training camps start next month.

7) Orioles took Oregon State C Adley Rutschman with the first pick of the MLB Draft, the first catcher taken first since Buster Posey in 2001.

Royals took SS Bobby Witt Jr with the #2 pick; his dad Bobby Witt pitched in the major leagues for 16 seasons.

6) Breakdown of DT Gerald McCoy?s deal with the Carolina Panthers:
? 1 year, $4M to sign.
? $3M base salary
? $500K camp roster bonus.
? $500K in 45-man per game bonus
? 6.5 sacks for $500k.
? 8 sacks gets him $1.5M.
? $250K for Pro Bowl.
? $250K for playoffs.
? $4M guaranteed.

Worth noting that Carolina/Tampa Bay (McCoy?s old team) are division rivals.

5) Friday, a bettor in Sparks, NV played a $5, 10-team parlay and hit it for $3,605; four of the ten wagers were underdogs. Pretty impressive.

4) Cubs 6, Angels 1? In his first game as a Cub, Carlos Gonzalez made a great diving catch in top of 7th inning to rob Jonathan Lucroy of a bases loaded double.

3) Milwaukee Brewers activated Travis Shaw from the IL and demoted rookie 2B Keston Huira, despite Huira hitting five home runs and having an .865 OPS in only 17 games. Milwaukee also DFA?d 1B Jesus Aguilar.

2) This was the first baseball draft ever where none of the first six picks were pitchers.

1) Excellent news: Mets broadcaster Ron Darling will be back in the booth tonight for the Mets-Giants game; Darling has been battling thyroid cancer the last few months but has been cleared to return to work. He is a friendly voice in the booth; great to have him back.

WNBA Betting Recap - 5/24-6/2
Joe Williams

League Betting Notes (Friday, May 31 through Sunday, June 2)

-- Favorites went 10-7 straight up (SU)
-- Underdogs went 9-8 against the spread (ATS)
-- Home teams went 12-5 SU
-- Road teams went 12-5 ATS
-- The 'under' went 12-5

Team Betting Notes

-- Atlanta (1-2 SU, 0-3 ATS) was punished by Washington (1-1 SU, 1-1 ATS) in the nation's capital on Saturday, as the Dream have stumbled out of the chute, especially against the number. It doesn't help that their biggest weapon, Angel McCoughtry, is on the sidelines still recovering after suffering a serious knee injury in August during the playoffs, also against the Mystics.

-- Connecticut (3-1 SU, 3-1 ATS) picked up an impressive road win against Las Vegas (1-2 SU, 1-2 ATS) by an 80-74 score as five-point underdogs on the Strip. The 'under' has also connected in three of their four games, including each of their two road contests so far.

-- After a successful performance in the opener against Los Angeles (1-1 SU, 1-1 ATS), the Aces have dropped a pair of games as favorites. The 'under' is 2-0 so far for the Aces on their home court. For the Sparks, they're without Candace Parker (hamstring), who is out indefinitely.

-- Dallas (0-2 SU, 2-0 ATS) hasn't been able to find their way into the win column yet, but they have been scrapping. They covered as a 10 1/2-point underdog in Atlanta in the opener, and they narrowly covered a 3 1/2-point number at most shops in their second game against Minnesota (3-0 SU, 2-1 ATS). For the Wings, not only have they been dealing with the trade of Liz Cambage to the Aces in the offseason, but they're trying to make due without Skylar Diggins-Smith, who is slowly working her way back after giving birth to her first child.

-- Speaking of the Lynx, they're perfect on the season despite the fact former MVP Maya Moore has decided to sit out for the 2019 season, focusing on her family and ministry.

-- New York (0-2 SU, 0-2 ATS) has picked up right where they left off last season -- and that's not good. They've failed to win or cover in their two outings. They lost the opener at home to Indiana (2-1 SU, 2-1 ATS) on a last-second tip-in, but then they were hammered by 15 points in Indianapolis in the second end of the home-and-home. The 'over' is 2-0 for New York, while hitting in all three games, and each of the past five dating back to last season, for the Fever.

-- Phoenix (1-1 SU, 1-1 ATS) bounced back after their opening game loss in Seattle (2-2 SU, 2-2 ATS) to top the Aces 86-84 as two-point underdogs at home. The Mercury have been without Diana Taurasi (back) so far, and they'll be without her for the foreseeable future.

-- The Storm have been without Breanna Stewart (Achilles') and Sue Bird (knee), and Stewart will be out for the season while Bird is out indefinitely. They're treading water until they can get a little healthier, using defense to win. The 'under' is 3-0-1 so far for the defending champions.

-- Chicago (1-1 SU, 1-1 ATS) bounced the Storm on Saturday, topping them as 2 1/2-point favorites as the total pushed. The one thing the Sky have going for them, they do not have one player listed on the injury report, a rarity in the WNBA during the early going.

Los Angeles Sparks at New York Liberty (+6.5)

The Sparks have packed light for their current East Coast road trip, which tips off in New York versus the Liberty early this afternoon. Los Angeles is down to 10 active players on the roster with standouts Alana Beard and Candace Parker out due to injury and Maria Vadeeva playing overseas.

The Liberty are still searching for their first win of the 2019 WNBA season after back-to-back losses to the Indiana Fever. Defense remains an issue for New York, which has allowed scores of 81 and 92 points in its opening games and allowed an average of 90.3 points against through four preseason games.

However, with L.A. missing key bodies and the early 11 a.m. ET start tipping at 8 a.m. PT back home in La-La Land, New York holds solid value as a desperate host team Tuesday.

Minnesota Lynx at Seattle Storm (OTB)

The Lynx and Storm mix it up for the second time this season, with Minnesota earning a 72-61 home win as 4.5-point favorite on May 29. That victory was one of three straight wins to start the season for the Lynx, who bring the WNBA?s best defense to Seattle Tuesday night ? allowing only 66.3 points per game to open the schedule and staying below the total in all three contests.

On the other end of the floor, Minnesota is managing despite missing plenty of offensive firepower. The Lynx are playing without stars Maya Moore (personal), Seimone Augustus (knee), and Rebekkah Brunson (concussion), and averaging 77 points through their first three outings.

Seattle has also felt the pain of missing players. The Storm are without veteran guard Sue Bird (knee) and reigning MVP Breanna Stewart (Achilles). That?s left Seattle to score 74.8 points through its first four games and post a 0-3-1 Over/Under mark so far in 2019.

Storm beat Lynx 84-77 despite 20 turnovers
June 4, 2019
ShareFacebookTwitterDiggMySpace

EVERETT, Wash. (AP) Jewell Loyd scored 19 points, Jordin Canada had a career-high 17 points and seven assists and the Seattle Storm beat the Minnesota Lynx 84-77 on Tuesday night.

Alysha Clark added 16 points and Natasha Howard 12 for Seattle (3-2), which shot 59% from the field and overcame 20 turnovers to get the win. The Storm were 6 of 8 on 3-pointer in the opening half after hitting just 2 of 15 in a loss to the Lynx last Wednesday.

Loyd scored 11 points in the first half and Clark had 10 to help Seattle build a 49-39 lead. Sylvia Fowles scored 10 of Minnesota's first 16 points and had 14 points at the break before finishing with 16.

Minnesota outscored Seattle 20-10 to start the third quarter, tying it at 59 after being down by as many as 12. The Lynx led 75-74 with 4:12 remaining but the Storm scored the next eight points, highlighted by Canada's steals, to take control.

Napheesa Collier scored 17 points for Minnesota (3-1), which was looking to start 4-0 for the third time in four seasons. The Lynx entered allowing a league-low 66.3 points per game.

Wednesday?s 6-pack

? Giants 9, Mets 3 (10)? If you bet the under, my condolences.

? It is June 5; the Phillies have already used 41 players this year.

? Dodgers 9, Arizona 0? Hyun-Jin Ryu allowed two ER in his last 44.2 IP.

? If you?re wondering, Tim Tebow is batting .159 at AAA Syracuse.

? RIP Alan Young, who passed away at 96; he played Wilbur Post on the classic TV show Mr Ed.

? Bruins? Zdeno Chara (broken jaw) hasn?t been ruled out of Game 5 in the Stanley Cup finals. Hockey players are tough.

Quotes of the Day
?No, I don?t regret it. And to be fair, I don?t think I owe anyone an explanation because it?s not a rule that I have to speak??.since I got traded over here it?s been some stories that shouldn?t have come out that have come out. And it?s difficult because the way I am perceived by people is not how I think I really am.?
Clint Frazier

Wednesday?s quiz
When was last time the NBA Finals ended in a 4-0 sweep?

Tuesday?s quiz
San Antonio Spurs were the last Western Conference team other than Golden State to play in the NBA Finals; they beat Miami in the 2014 Finals.

Monday?s quiz
Sacramento is the state capital of California.

******************************

Wednesday?s List of 13: Mid-week musings??.

13) There are 256 regular season games in the NFL every year; last year, 73 of them (28.5%) were decided by 3 or fewer points.

12) Las Vegas Bowl is one of the first beneficiaries of the new domed stadium in Las Vegas; the LV Bowl will now feature a matchup of a Pac-12 team vs either an SEC team or Big 14 team every year, starting in 2020. The bowl also moves into a post-Christmas slot; the #2 Pac-12 team will be heading to Las Vegas for this game.

11) Since 2011, there have been 12 Pac-12-SEC football games:
2011:
LSU +3 W40-27 vs Oregon
2012:
LSU -23 W41-3 Washington
Missouri -3 W24-20 Arizona State
2013:
Tennessee +28 L14-59 @ Oregon
Auburn -14 W31-24 Auburn
2015:
Tex A&M -3 W38-17 vs Arizona St.
2016:
Tex A&M -3 W31-24 OT UCLA
Alabama -11.5 W52-6 vs USC
Alabama -13.5 W24-7 vs Washington
2017:
Tex A&M +5.5 L44-45 @ UCLA
Ole Miss -7 L16-27 @ California
2018:
Auburn -2 W21-16 vs Washington

SEC teams are 9-3 SU in those games, 9-3 vs spread, 7-2 when favored.

10) Michigan landed former Alabama assistant Josh Gattis as its new offensive coordinator at least in part because Nick Saban doesn?t want a play caller who has never called plays before, so he wouldn?t name Gattis as the Crimson Tide?s OC.

As a player, Gattis starred at safety for Wake Forest and was the leader of the only Demon Deacons team that won the ACC title and went to the Orange Bowl.

9) North Carolina football coach Mack Brown has had his right knee replaced by a surgeon who once played for him, Dr. Michael Bolognesi, who played DB for Brown at UNC from 1989-93.

8) There were only three high school pitchers taken in the first round of the baseball draft, the lowest amount since 2008.

7) Baseball stuff:
? Phillies lost OF Andrew McCutchen (torn ACL) for the season.
? Tigers put 3B Jeimer Candelario (shoulder) on IL.
? Indians put P Jefry Rodriguez (shoulder) on IL.
? Royals put 3B Hunter Dozier (right side) on IL.

6) Northern Arizona basketball coach Jack Murphy is leaving the Lumberjacks to become the associate head coach at Arizona, his alma mater. Murphy went 78-149 in seven years at NAU and was going into the final year of his contract, which means he was probably getting fired next spring unless the Lumberjacks won the Big Sky, so he jumped ship before he got pushed.

5) Odds to win college basketball national title next April:
8-1? Michigan State
10-1? Kentucky, Duke
12-1? Kansas, Memphis
16-1? North Carolina, Villanova
20-1? Gonzaga, Louisville, Oregon, Virginia

4) Kawhi Leonard filed a lawsuit against Nike on Monday in California in an attempt to reclaim control over a logo Leonard says he created, when he was a Nike client. Leonard signed a deal with New Balance earlier this season.

3) UConn added grad transfer QB Micah Lemon from NC State, which prompted Huskies? QB Marvin Washington to announce he was leaving UConn. Huskies? WR Keyion Dixon also said he would be leaving the UConn program.

2) RJ Hampton was a highly sought after basketball recruit who instead chose to play pro ball in New Zealand this season, which is his business, but supposedly he signed the pro contract a full month before he told the college teams that he wouldn?t be playing for them.

Why would someone do this? Once he signed the contract, there was no going back. Lot of people, both coaches/other recruits, were waiting for his decision so the next domino in the process could fall.

Without knowing all the fact, it does seem very selfish.

1) St. Louis Blues have never won a Stanley Cup, but four of their former coaches have won 17 of them; their series with Boston now stands at 2-2. Blues have an interim coach (Craig Berube).

Chicago Sky at Washington Mystics (-10.5, 168.5)

Home is where the heart is to start the 2019 WNBA season, and that heart is running over with cash after host teams opened the schedule with a 13-4-1 ATS mark against the pointspread. And depending on where you got the New York Liberty Tuesday (+7 to +5), that home record could be even better.

The Washington Mystics are the lone home side on the WNBA odds board Wednesday, welcoming the Chicago Sky to the nation?s capital. The Mystics are 1-1 to start the season but their opening game of the calendar (an 84-69 loss at Connecticut) was played without plenty of key contributors. Superstar Elena Delle Donne, forward Aerial Powers, and rookie guard Kiara Leslie all sat out the 2019 debut.

Washington looked much stronger in its second game (a 96-75 home win over Atlanta), getting 18 points and seven rebounds from a returning Delle Donne. The team is expected to have the 6-foot Powers back in action for Wednesday?s home stand with the Sky and that gives a boost to an offense putting up an average of 82.5 points through two games. Chicago comes into this contest ranked last in defense, giving up 89 and 79 points in its first two outings.

Mystics beat Sky for 2nd win in new arena
June 5, 2019
ShareFacebookTwitterDiggMySpace

WASHINGTON (AP) Kristi Tolliver had 19 points, six assists and four steals, Elena Delle Donne added 12 points and seven rebounds, and the Washington Mystics beat the Chicago Sky 103-85 on Wednesday night.

Washington led 27-25 at the end of the first quarter before using a 24-8 spurt, including a 9-0 run, to open the second quarter, for an 18-point lead. The Mystics were ahead by as many as 21 points in the opening 20 minutes and it was 57-42 at the break.

Emma Meesseman played her last game with Washington (2-1) until July due to international duty, finishing with 12 points, and Ariel Atkins scored all 11 of her points in the first half. Delle Donne, the ex-Sky star, entered averaging 20 points and seven rebounds in six games against her former team, but she was just 4 of 14 from the field.

The Mystics shot 50% from the field, including 13 of 34 from 3-point range, in their eighth straight series win. Washington improved to 2-0 in its new home arena.

Diamond DeShields scored 24 points and Jantel Lavender added 15 for Chicago (1-2). Allie Quigley, averaging a team-high 17.5 points, was scoreless in 26 minutes.

Thursday?s 6-pack

College football spreads for games on Nov 29-30:

? Texas Tech @ Texas (-10)

? Washington State @ Washington (-9)

? Notre Dame (-5.5) @ Stanford

? Ohio State @ Michigan (-3.5)

? Florida State @ Florida (-14)

? Texas A&M @ LSU (-7.5)

Quotes of the Day
?The more screwed up they (Lakers) are, the happier I am. But I feel that way about every other franchise not in Dallas. We all go through it. Every franchise goes through cycles, and when your down cycle hits you, it?s never fun.?
Mark Cuban

Thursday?s quiz
Where did Klay Thompson play his college basketball?

Wednesday?s quiz
Last time the NBA Finals ended in a 4-0 sweep was last year, when the Warriors swept Cleveland; last time before that was 2007, when San Antonio swept the Cavaliers.

Tuesday?s quiz
San Antonio Spurs were the last Western Conference team other than Golden State to play in the NBA Finals; they beat Miami in the 2014 Finals.

**********************************

Thursday?s List of 13: Nobody asked me, but??

13) Starting today with something a little different; an unsolicited endorsement of a couple guys who own a financial advisement firm in this area; they?re very good at what they do.

I?ve known Chris/Dennis Fagan for a long time; they?re very smart people. In 2010, i gave them some money to invest for me, not a lot, but a decent amount for me.

Every month, I get a statement on how that money is doing, and right now, my account has more than double the amount that I gave them in 2010, so I?m going to post a link to their website here and if you need investment advice, they?re the guys to ask:

12) Raptors 123, Warriors 109? Key for Toronto is how the other four starters (minus Leonard) score; they were 28-53 from floor in this game, which is great production for them. Toronto has a 2-1 series lead.

11) Miami Marlins got an RBI from all nine hitters in the fifth inning Tuesday night, the first time that all nine lineup positions got an RBI in one inning since the Brooklyn Dodgers? 15-run first inning on May 21, 1952.

10) Marlins are only major league team that has used only five starting pitchers so far this season.

9) Watching some college baseball Sunday night, and it dawned on me that the Creighton Bluejays have nicer jerseys than the Toronto Blue Jays, which shouldn?t be.

8) Colorado Rockies have couple of promising starting pitchers coming up thru their farm system, but here?s the thing: If you?re talking fantasy baseball, do you really want a pitcher on your team from the Rockies? History tells us that you do not.

7) Baseball stuff:
? Cubs are signing closer Craig Kimbrel, pending a physical.
? Mets DFA?d OF Aaron Altherr, third team to dump him this year.
? Indians put P Carlos Carrasco on IL (non-baseball illness).

6) Interesting how different teams draft ballplayers; only three of the 40 players the Oakland A?s picked were high school players- they also picked a guy from both Harvard and Yale.

Red Sox drafted seven HS kids, Marlins took eight, Astros took only four.

5) Bruce Bochy won his 1,000th game as Giants? manager Tuesday night; he also won 951 games managing San Diego, and is a lock for the Hall of Fame.

4) Comedian Tracy Morgan got very upset Tuesday when a woman hit his $2M Bugatti with her Honda in Manhattan, which raises a question for me.

There is a car that costs $2M? Seriously? I love my Nissan Rogue; it cost $23,000. Oy.

3) Carolina Panthers? owner David Tepper has promised to build a ?world class? NFL practice facility for the Panthers in Rock Hill, SC; the Panthers play home games in Charlotte, NC, but when a $115M tax break was thrown Tepper?s way, he chose the Palmetto State for the team?s new practice facility. Go figure.

2) Starting this coming season, the 3-point line in college basketball will be 22?1?? away from the basket, a change from the 20?9″ that has been in place since 2008.

In Divisions 2-3, the change will take place in 2020-21, to account for the costs associated with moving the line on the courts.

1) A large echo showing up on radar in Southern California last night was actually a cloud of ladybugs about 80 miles by 80 miles in size flying at between 5,000-9,000 feet.

Derek Fisher learned a lot from Knicks
June 5, 2019
By The Associated Press

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. (AP) Derek Fisher admitted he learned a lot from his failed stint as coach of the New York Knicks. He's taking those lessons over to his new role as the head of the Los Angeles Sparks.

So far, it has paid off. The rookie WNBA coach has guided the Sparks to wins in two of the team's first three games, including Tuesday afternoon's hard-fought victory over the New York Liberty. He said it was one of the first times he's been back to New York since he was fired in 2016.

''There are things that I experienced while coaching here in New York that worked, and that didn't' work,'' he said after the 78-73 victory over the Liberty on Tuesday. ''The way I want to coach the game, the way I want to do things offensively and defensively.''

Fisher, who played in the NBA for 18 years, also feels he learned a valuable lesson on how to talk to players.

''When I got to New York as coach of the Knicks leaving the playing court I tried to create some distance between being the player and the coach,'' he said. ''At times, I needed to be closer to the individual players in terms of building relationships and having conversations and not feeling like I'm overstepping by trying to be closer to my players. That was a mistake in a sense because players need the personal relationship and connection with their head coach so that they can trust him.

''Now understanding that, my communication level with my players is now really overly communicating and building one-on-one relationships. Those are key things I learned."

His new team has been impressed with what they've seen so far from Fisher.

''It's refreshing. He comes with open eyes and respects us as players and what we're fighting for,'' Chiney Ogwumike said. ''Every experience is a new experience for him. I like his perspective. Basketball is just basketball. He brings an NBA perspective that's unique and may help us win games. Lot of teams in this league have huge playbooks. For him in the NBA, it was just basketball. Matchups, isolations and defensive core principles. We're just playing the game, not overthinking. We're improving our skills.''

Nneka Ogwumike echoed her sister's comments.

''I feel like I'm finally in the evolution of the game. It's funny because with the NBA and WNBA, yeah it's the sister league, but it's very different from the NBA,'' she said. ''Coach provides that cross-sectionality of the two. Bringing together the true foundation similarities that both leagues have and should have and don't have. It's extremely apparent in how our organization is being run now. He pays attention to detail in everything we do.''

Fisher is also learning about the difficulties that WNBA teams and players face. The Sparks played Friday, had to practice early Saturday morning because they had to be off the court by 11 a.m. because they don't own the facility that they practice at. They had a season ticket holder event, then flew commercial across the country Sunday morning and didn't get to their hotel until 7 p.m. that night.

''It's not easy to be in the WNBA,'' he said.

Fisher also didn't know how tight a rookie's schedule is going from the Final Four to the draft to the city they are playing in soon after.

''They definitely have it a lot more difficult then NBA guys,'' he said.

Fisher was emotional after the win over New York on Tuesday. Even though the Liberty aren't owned by James Dolan anymore and the game wasn't played at Madison Square Garden, it still had a lot of meaning.

''He didn't want to talk about it till after the game, how much it meant to him'' Chiney Ogwumike said. ''He has a lot of memories here, good ones, bad ones. Where we are right now, in the present moment, is where we're supposed to be. ... This win is a testament to his journey, not only as a coach, but a man as well.''

Fisher said he told his story to the team so they could understand his journey.

''The New York part I shared with them about how life throws things at you sometimes. Don't plan for it. You can't expect to get embarrassed. You failed. It didn't work out,'' Fisher said. ''How you have to just keep pushing and learn from it. Try to get better so that you're better prepared for it. That's the best part about being back here, not sticking it to New York. I loved my time here in the city. The fans. I have nothing negative to say about being back here.''

Jones gave Connecticut a 21-point lead with 3:22 left in the third quarter, but Los Angeles pulled within 81-77 after Nneka Ogwumike secured a loose ball under the basket and put it in. She stole it at the other end but after the Sparks threw it out of bounds, Thomas scored in the paint with 34.8 seconds left to give Connecticut a six-point lead.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) Odyssey Sims scored 15 points and Lexie Brown added 12 to help the Minnesota Lynx hold off the Phoenix Mercury 58-56 on Thursday night.

Minnesota led by as many as 16 points, but did not score in the final four minutes to keep Phoenix in it. DeWanna Bonner's offensive rebound and free-throw line jumper pulled Phoenix within 58-56 with 1:34 remaining.

After several empty possessions, the Mercury called a timeout with 21.1 seconds left and Leilani Mitchell dribbled down the clock before Bonner was off on a contested 3-pointer at the buzzer.

Sylvia Fowles had 10 points and seven rebounds for Minnesota (4-1) to move past Tina Thompson for fourth on the WNBA's rebounding list.

Bonner was the only player in double figures for Phoenix (1-2) with 25 points - 12 coming in the fourth quarter. Phoenix was outscored 15-7 in the second quarter and shot 37% overall. Brittney Griner had four points, seven rebounds and three blocks.

Aces Notch Road Win in Atlanta

Las Vegas scored the first 10 points of the game, held a 19-2 lead, and it was 25-13 at the end of the first quarter after holding Atlanta to 5-of-15 shooting. The Aces led 49-25 at halftime, paced by A?ja Wilson?s 11 points, and Dearica Hamby?s steal and fast-break layup made it 81-51 early in the fourth quarter.
