if memory serves me correctly UT has the #1 guy out of Ok this year i think from Jenks.......is that right....not sure.......
Hmmmm. Guess who doesn't have Booker #1? Superprep. Guess who else doesn't have Booker #1? Rivals. There are probably others too.I subscribe to over 6 recruiting services and they all have Booker as the #1 prospect in the country. The only one I know who has Booker less than one is Lemming and he is totally clueless. Lemming has Booker as #3.
Guess who has Vincent Young #1 and just declared him "2002 NATIONAL PLAYER OF THE YEAR"? Superprep. Guess who else? Rivals. Guess who else has him as national co-player of the year (tied with Booker)? Parade Magazine. I'm sure there are others too.Young is behind Booker in every rating. Not that it matters much.
This one just rules. Its pretty widely known that the Insiders is likely to go bankrupt in the not too distant future while Rivals is actually operating at a profit (maybe for the frist time). As for Rivals, they are the absolute worst and there is a good reason they went bankrupt last year. Insiders took over much of their stuff and is pretty good.
As a longtime subscriber let me be the first to say that their ratings are generally not great. I don't think they have a lot of cash to actually travel and watch players play. Their main value is calling recruits, and getting grade, test and offer information.Superprep is by far the best.
The misfires continue. The problem with Rivlas' rankings is that 8 QB's or something get a 5* rating, but 0 true FBs and 0 punters get it. Only 2 or 3 safeties in the country get a 5* and each team has 2 on the field at once! It is very biased toward QB's.
If it really doesn't matter, then why is it a "problem"?The second problem with Rivals is that they don't count soft verbals - kids who want to take other trips. USC has verbals from 6 players that aren't on Rivals list because they are "soft". It really doesn't matter, it's all about who signs on Tuesday.
In fact, Rivals not only considers JC transfers, but they do so MORE THAN ANY OTHER RATINGS SYSTEM.The last problem with Rivals is that they don't consider JC transfer into their rating system, which is asinine. JC players contribute a hell of a lot earlier than 18 year olds.
That's because a lot of schools are recruiting him as a DL.One last thing, Rivals screws up positions all the time. Matua, one of the most sough-after OL on the westcoast is deciding between 'SC, Washington and Notre Dame. Well, he's listed as DL on some services and not that highly ranked. No shite, he's a OL. Dominique Byrd, #2 tight end in the country out of Minnesota, is listed as a WR on some services. Of course he's not going to ranked high as a WR, he's a freakin' TE.
This further maintains the height of ignorance you just posted.Anyway, most of the ratings I use come from Burton or Emfinger or Biggins. Insiders.com (CNNSI.com) is pretty neutral and decent. So, according to that, USC will land the #1 RB, the #1, #2 and #4 DB, #3 OL and #5 DL. Not to mention the #1 FB and #1 Punter who are listed with other services.
Every morning I shit out more information about recruiting than you have ever stored in your brain. But I'm ignorant? That's hilarious.
