That's right freeze

That's right freeze

and since you guys nabbed our #1 in-state (Tommie Harris) last year, it's only right to return the favor.

Brian Pickryl DE, Jenks, OK, 6'6', 225, 4.6
Quick Bio of Pickryl

He's already enrolled here I believe and would benefit from Spring practice. His high school coach Alan Trimble was quoted as saying, "He plays so big. He?s so agile for his height and you just can?t block him. He?s an amazing athlete and can accelerate like they do on Saturday. . . I believe he will leave here as one of the best players to ever play for Jenks. He is a fantastic athlete for his size and runs as well as a much smaller player. Brian can change direction and is one of the finest pass rushers that we have had at Jenks." He also said ""I think he's got more potential than any kid we've had." (note: these comments are even more impressive when one realizes that Jenks is one of the biggest Div I-A pipeline HS in the country, with recent recruits in the last few years going to OU (Calmus, Kejuan Jones, Callens, Klink, McCoy, Carter, Pinson, Brumble), ND (Wisne (NFL), Beckstrom, Mahan), Neb (Lohr) and several others to smaller schools.

Any Tennessee fans?

Any Tennessee fans?

Tennessee is 10th right now......but in great shape with several 5 stars and 4 stars.

They have a great shot at Jonathan Mapu, James Banks, Marcus Vick, Brandon Jeffries, Kai Parham, and Ahmad Brooks - all five star guys. They will probably only get one of Banks and Vick, unless Vick agrees to go to WR.

Four star guys they have a very good shot at are AJ Davis, Justin Miller, and what seems like about 10 others. They will probably sign 27-28, which will probably be at least one or two more than Texas.

I can easily see Tennessee ending up with 6/7 five star guys, 15/16 four star guys, 3 three star guys and 2 two stars.

It UT (Texas) gets Robert Timmons, UT would have 6 five stars, 15 four stars, 5 three stars and one two star guy.

Looks like yet another tough year in the SEC. Gerogia has slipped to 5th while Tennessee has moved to 6th and South Carolina to 9th.

I would love to play some of the weak schedules that most of these schools do.:moon:

USC is going to close strong and finish in the top 3 nationally. Lorenzo Booker, consensus #1 player in the country will commit to the Trojans on Tuesday.

Booker will give 'SC 9 5* recruits:
Booker - #1 player in the nation
Wright - #1 DE in the west
Justice - #2 OL in the west
Bing - #2 safety in the nation
Dennis - #2 RB in the west
Kyle Williams - Top 3 OL in nation, out of Texas
Malone - #1 punter in nation
Hancock - #1 FB in west
Byrd - #2 TE in nation, out of Minnesota

4* recruits include
Sartz - #4 safety in west
Brown - brother of Chad Brown

Add those to 4 4* JC recruits (4* is highest in JC)
Mitchell
Urquhart
Lua - Defensive player of year for Western JCs
Nunn - top West coast JC corner

And the Trojans are closing in on:
Watkins, #1 safety in nation, out of Florida
Miller - top 3 cornerback in west

Rivals and some others have 'SC around 10. Wait until Tuesday, the Trojans will be top 5 and would be #2 but they didn't take a QB this year and the rankings are so biased towards qb's.

Just curious, what publication or source are you using in determining all of the 5* recruits? I noticed that you were saying "#1 in the west" and so forth. He may be #1 in the west but what is he ranked on a national scale?

This is the source we are using Rivals 100 and then go to site features on the left side. This will have the rankings by team as well as position.

According to Rivals, USC has zero 5* recruits and getting 9 of those is almost unheard of since there's only like 37 total.

Not saying that USC won't finish strong but I doubt they even make top 5, considering other schools are about to clean house as well with alot of top players.

I just wrote a long reply that got deleted, so this will have to suffice.

I subscribe to over 6 recruiting services and they all have Booker as the #1 prospect in the country. The only one I know who has Booker less than one is Lemming and he is totally clueless. Lemming has Booker as #3.

Young is behind Booker in every rating. Not that it matters much.

As for Rivals, they are the absolute worst and there is a good reason they went bankrupt last year. Insiders took over much of their stuff and is pretty good.

Superprep is by far the best.

The problem with Rivlas' rankings is that 8 QB's or something get a 5* rating, but 0 true FBs and 0 punters get it. Only 2 or 3 safeties in the country get a 5* and each team has 2 on the field at once! It is very biased toward QB's.

The second problem with Rivals is that they don't count soft verbals - kids who want to take other trips. USC has verbals from 6 players that aren't on Rivals list because they are "soft". It really doesn't matter, it's all about who signs on Tuesday.

The last problem with Rivals is that they don't consider JC transfer into their rating system, which is asinine. JC players contribute a hell of a lot earlier than 18 year olds.

One last thing, Rivals screws up positions all the time. Matua, one of the most sough-after OL on the westcoast is deciding between 'SC, Washington and Notre Dame. Well, he's listed as DL on some services and not that highly ranked. No shite, he's a OL. Dominique Byrd, #2 tight end in the country out of Minnesota, is listed as a WR on some services. Of course he's not going to ranked high as a WR, he's a freakin' TE.

Anyway, most of the ratings I use come from Burton or Emfinger or Biggins. Insiders.com (CNNSI.com) is pretty neutral and decent. So, according to that, USC will land the #1 RB, the #1, #2 and #4 DB, #3 OL and #5 DL. Not to mention the #1 FB and #1 Punter who are listed with other services.

Right now doesn't matter anyway, it's all about Tuesday.

I just looked at the latest Rivals top 100 and they are so far off from the rest of the recruiting world. Vick that high? Olson is overranked. No mention of Trent Edwards as a 5*? He is going to Stanford and is considered much better than Olsen. Booker at #3?

Like I said, there is a reason they went bankrupt last year.

Oh well, no way to prove who's better.

But Rivals does have 'SC as #10 - and when they sign Booker and Watkins they'll go up real fast.

Wow, I don't even know where to begin but nearly every part of your sentence is incorrect in some form or fashion.

Let's break it down shall we?

I subscribe to over 6 recruiting services and they all have Booker as the #1 prospect in the country. The only one I know who has Booker less than one is Lemming and he is totally clueless. Lemming has Booker as #3.
Hmmmm. Guess who doesn't have Booker #1? Superprep. Guess who else doesn't have Booker #1? Rivals. There are probably others too.

Strike One.

Young is behind Booker in every rating. Not that it matters much.
Guess who has Vincent Young #1 and just declared him "2002 NATIONAL PLAYER OF THE YEAR"? Superprep. Guess who else? Rivals. Guess who else has him as national co-player of the year (tied with Booker)? Parade Magazine. I'm sure there are others too.

Strike Two.

As for Rivals, they are the absolute worst and there is a good reason they went bankrupt last year. Insiders took over much of their stuff and is pretty good.
This one just rules. Its pretty widely known that the Insiders is likely to go bankrupt in the not too distant future while Rivals is actually operating at a profit (maybe for the frist time).

The Insiders also have James Hale and Max Emfinger -- the hilarious duo of bumbling idiocy and felonious conduct.

They are the laughing stock of the recruiting world and soon to be out of business.

Strike Three.

Superprep is by far the best.
As a longtime subscriber let me be the first to say that their ratings are generally not great. I don't think they have a lot of cash to actually travel and watch players play. Their main value is calling recruits, and getting grade, test and offer information.

Strike four.

The problem with Rivlas' rankings is that 8 QB's or something get a 5* rating, but 0 true FBs and 0 punters get it. Only 2 or 3 safeties in the country get a 5* and each team has 2 on the field at once! It is very biased toward QB's.
The misfires continue.

Only five QB's got 5-star ratings (there are probably guys that are "athletes" that may play QB that get it).

Fullback Maurice Clarrett also got 5 stars.

Strike five and six.

The second problem with Rivals is that they don't count soft verbals - kids who want to take other trips. USC has verbals from 6 players that aren't on Rivals list because they are "soft". It really doesn't matter, it's all about who signs on Tuesday.
If it really doesn't matter, then why is it a "problem"?

The last problem with Rivals is that they don't consider JC transfer into their rating system, which is asinine. JC players contribute a hell of a lot earlier than 18 year olds.
In fact, Rivals not only considers JC transfers, but they do so MORE THAN ANY OTHER RATINGS SYSTEM.

They have an entire set of rankings for them and over 45% of their total 5 star kids are fuhking JUCO players!!!!

Strike seven -- HUGE miss.

That's because a lot of schools are recruiting him as a DL.

This further maintains the height of ignorance you just posted.

Burton runs Rivals now. He no longer puts out his separate National Recruiting Advisor list, though he does only get some kind of vote in Rivals (does not control rankings).

Strike eight.

Anything else you want to add?

What the f*ck's your problem? I wasn't challenging you or anything. I was away from the site for a couple months and the whole thing has gone to hell. Now I know why people don't come back to Madjacks anymore. I put up a post about what a great recruiting season USC is having and you're calling me out and "proving" me wrong? Who the f*ck are you?

Tell me "strike"? Who was challenging you? You breakdown my post and tell me I'm ignorant? I'm laughing too hard to even be pissed. When I was at 'SC I worked in the recruiting office and tripped the kids when they came. I'm a major donor to USC recruiting and I used to break down SoCal high school game film for JR's staff back in the day. And I'm ignorant about recruiting? Every morning I shit out more information about recruiting than you have ever stored in your brain. But I'm ignorant? That's hilarious.

You need a life.

Read my thread, I never attacked you. I was bragging about my school. I, and most of the west coast and Pac 10 think Rivals is a joke and there was a reason it went bankrupt. Insiders is doing fairly well. So I like one and you like the other. And you're telling me I'm wrong? You're an insecure idiot.

You like Rivals. Congrats. No one told you that you were wrong. I'm telling you now that you're an idiot, though.

Who cares who is #1? I have several places that have him as #1. Lemming has neither Young nor Booker. By the way, ESPN has asked a player to announce his decision live on tv on Tuesday. Booker.

You're telling me I'm wrong?

Don't bother responding, I'm not reading this anymore. You're an idiot. You seriously need a life.

Nice comeback there chief

Nice comeback there chief

C'mon focker! All I was doing was pointing out your bonehead flaws in your post.

Every morning I shit out more information about recruiting than you have ever stored in your brain. But I'm ignorant? That's hilarious.

What's hilarious is you admitting to be associated with a Major D-1 school that involved getting potential recruits to enroll there. I'm sure the information you supposedly "shit out" was just that.

Your lack of clarity and accuracy exposed your own stupid self. What's funny is that you couldn't dispute not one single reply that I gave you. On probability theory alone, I would bet that you were released from your duties in USC for the simple fact that your days, like your wit, were numbered.

All these years I wondered why USC sucked so much. Now I know. ;)

Recruiting across the web
1/29/2002

The Gainesville Sun and Fansonly report that Auburn has lost a top recruit. Florida gained the commitment from one of the top players in Florida - Miami Springs wide receiver Devin Aromashodu. The 6-foot-2, 180-pounder has committed to North Carolina State and Auburn previously. Florida also added Channing Crowder, one of the top prospects in Georgia.

The Tennessean reports that Grant Brigham, from Mountain Brook High School, picked Vanderbilt yesterday over several other SEC schools. The talented 6-foot, 170-pound wide receiver had been offered scholarships by Alabama, Auburn, LSU, Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech, Duke, Southern Mississippi, UAB and Furman. Vandy also received a commitment from running back Kwane Doster and punter Greg Johnson.

Georgia received a pledge from Mario Raley, a standout wide receiver out of Charlotte, N.C. according to Online Athens. Raley, 6-foot-1, 185 pounds, is ranked the 17th best wide receiver in the nation by Rivals.com.

A number of players committed to LSU. The Times-Picayune reports that defensive end Alonzo Manuel and linebacker Willie Demps will join the Tigers. Fansonly reports that LSU added offensive lineman Peter Dyakowski of British Columbia-Vancouver College.

The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reports that offensive tackle Tony Ugoh committed to the Razorbacks late Monday night. The talented 6-foot-6, 300-pounder runs the 40-yard dash in 5.0 seconds. Ugoh had been recruited by almost every major college in the nation.

The Lexington Herald-Leader reports that junior-college All-American Yancey Reynolds committed to the Wildcats. The 6-foot-5, 330-pound Reynolds was named a first-team NJCAA All-American last season while playing for Georgia Military College. Kentucky also picked up a commitment from defensive end Kareem Reed.

Fansonly reports that David Heard of Vicksburg, Miss. committed to Mississippi State. Heard is a 6-foot, 180-pound defensive back.

Damn, don't need to be losing recruits to the Zookers down there in FLA! You know it might take a while to get used to not thinking about hating Florida because of Spurrier! Hell I might even pull for them when they play. Nah to hell with that I would rather pull for Russia than Florida! Leave our Recruits alone boys!!!!:nono:

Dang, I posted my shit up there before I read what had been going on the last day or so! WOW! Yall guys need to quit that fighting, lets get some love back in the room and save all the blood for next fall! Like say when the Auburn Tigers open up on the road against USC ( first ABC game of the year, andit's on Monday night!) that should be a good one:p Oh Bonovox, I have only read a few of your posts and don't know how good your sense of humor is but I thought I'd test it!

USC Game To Be Played September 2
By Staff Reports
Date: Jan 29, 2002

Auburn, Ala.--For the third time in three seasons the Auburn Tigers will play on ABC television as the season opener against USC has been moved to Monday night Sept. 2 at 7 p.m.

Moving the game from an original date of August 31, both teams agreed that this would give them a chance to showcase their talents in front of a national television audience.
"We're excited to start a new season on Monday night in prime time in front of a national television audience," coach Tommy Tuberville said. "It will be a good opportunity for our team to receive national exposure against a talented Southern Cal team. We're glad that our fans across the country will be able to watch us play our season opener."

This will be the second meeting between the two schools with the 1986 Citrus Bowl the first and only time the two have played on the gridiron. Auburn won the game 16-7.

The Tigers have started winter workouts and begin spring practice March 1. The annual A-Day game is scheduled for Saturday April 6.

Auburn fans are very lucky. There was a lot of talk the the OU-Alabama game Sept. 7 would be moved to Monday night. Apparently they chose your game instead. That will be awesome, I am very jealous.

In recruiting news, Oklahoma picked up a commitment from Rivals 4-star DB Aaron Miller out of Fresno, California. With 24 current commitments, the Sooners have one more target in Fred Matua a OL-DL from California. He is leaning towards staying in state (USC, UCLA). This class should finish ranked second by most services. Definetly in the top-5 in all. Congratulations Bob Stoops and your whole staff.
