Yeah. Or how about a nice picture of Dubya in some dark bar in Birmingham at 1pm on a tuesday playing darts doing beer bongs while the rest of his unit was training.
...and while Kerry was actually in the shit. They just shouldn't bring up those days. The hypocracy is blinding.

Weird how the biggest squawkers about the movie haven't even seen it.

I don't think I've ever said anything about the Moo's movie.

Like the saying goes...

Any publicity is good publicity.

I'm glad though the Democratic party (small p) really needs every inch LOL it can get from a propaganda film (maybe it's not LOL)

Can't wait to see what's up next to perk up things there for them......funny pictures of models with George Bush's head on them???

The desperation is a thing of beauty

We can probably all agree this feeling is on both sides. Hell, I'll admit - I'm desperate. I've never felt a greater sense of urgency regarding a change in our leadership. Desperation - no doubt.

I do think the common thread between democrats/socialism/communism has been well established and is SPECIFIC to ideas on government. ( I 'think' you even agrreed to this).

Yet, I have not seen an eloquent example of how fascism's model of government (dictorship) or the KKK's ideas on race superiority have any common thread with the limited governemnt theme of the republican party. I thought maybe you could articulate the common thread. I do not conceed that they are similiar in any major way.

And normally I would not respond to a post as foolish as smurphy's but I can't resist. I believe the bible clearly states that it is sinful to have sex with other men, and..while I also believe that each person should be free to chose to sleep with whoever they wish, I do not feel that I should be forced to support that lifestyle. By ALLOWING gay marriage, you are FORCING me to financial support a lifestyle that my religion clearly states is wrong....it is an infringement on my life and belief system.

This has NOTHING to do with my wanting to control others lives, it is about their willingness to force me to accept and SUPPORT thiers, which is something liberals and communists clearly have in common.

Screw whoever you want, but don't force me to support it through my tax dollars, employee benifits, and social security.

Where does seperation of church and state fit here? We don't cater to followers of Voo-doo simply because it's part of their religious belief system.
You are obviously one of the fundamentalists that Bush was catering to with that stand - and that's fine. But it is not American or Constitutional.

Ironlock,

Out of these 14 traits of fascism, I would say that 7 of them are kind of interesting. And that's being generous. Since we're doing comparisons and all.

Check out #'s
1,2,3,4,7,8,9

The 14 Defining Characteristics Of Fascism
By Dr. Lawrence Britt

Dr. Lawrence Britt, a political scientist, studied the fascist regimes of Hitler (Germany), Mussolini (Italy), Franco (Spain), Suharto (Indonesia), and Pinochet (Chile). He found the regimes all had 14 things in common, and he calls these the identifying characteristics of fascism.

1. Powerful and Continuing Nationalism -
Fascist regimes tend to make constant use of patriotic mottos, slogans, symbols, songs, and other paraphernalia. Flags are seen everywhere, as are flag symbols on clothing and in public displays.

2. Disdain for the Recognition of Human Rights -
Because of fear of enemies and the need for security, the people in fascist regimes are persuaded that human rights can be ignored in certain cases because of "need." The people tend to look the other way or even approve of torture, summary executions, assassinations, long incarcerations of prisoners, etc.

3. Identification of Enemies/Scapegoats as a Unifying Cause -
The people are rallied into a unifying patriotic frenzy over the need to eliminate a perceived common threat or foe: racial, ethnic or religious minorities; liberals; communists; socialists, terrorists, etc.

4. Supremacy of the Military -
Even when there are widespread domestic problems, the military is given a disproportionate amount of government funding, and the domestic agenda is neglected. Soldiers and military service are glamorized.

5. Rampant Sexism -
The governments of fascist nations tend to be almost exclusively male-dominated. Under fascist regimes, traditional gender roles are made more rigid. Divorce, abortion and homo-sexuality are suppressed and the state is represented as the ultimate guardian of the family institution.

6. Controlled Mass Media -
Sometimes to media is directly controlled by the government, but in other cases, the media is indirectly controlled by government regulation, or sympathetic media spokespeople and executives. Censorship, especially in war time, is very common.

7. Obsession with National Security -
Fear is used as a motivational tool by the government over the masses.

8. Religion and Government are Intertwined -
Governments in fascist nations tend to use the most common religion in the nation as a tool to manipulate public opinion. Religious rhetoric and terminology is common from government leaders, even when the major tenets of the religion are diametrically opposed to the government's policies or actions.

9. Corporate Power is Protected -
The industrial and business aristocracy of a fascist nation often are the ones who put the government leaders into power, creating a mutually beneficial business/government relationship and power elite.

10. Labor Power is Suppressed -
Because the organizing power of labor is the only real threat to a fascist government, labor unions are either eliminated entirely, or are severely suppressed.

11. Disdain for Intellectuals and the Arts -
Fascist nations tend to promote and tolerate open hostility to higher education, and academia. It is not uncommon for professors and other academics to be censored or even arrested. Free _expression_ in the arts and letters is openly attacked.

12. Obsession with Crime and Punishment -
Under fascist regimes, the police are given almost limitless power to enforce laws. The people are often willing to overlook police abuses and even forego civil liberties in the name of patriotism. There is often a national police force with virtually unlimited power in fascist nations.

13. Rampant Cronyism and Corruption -
Fascist regimes almost always are governed by groups of friends and associates who appoint each other to government positions and use governmental power and authority to protect their friends from accountability. It is not uncommon in fascist regimes for national resources and even treasures to be appropriated or even outright stolen by government leaders.

14. Fraudulent Elections -
Sometimes elections in fascist nations are a complete sham. Other times elections are manipulated by smear campaigns against or even assassination of opposition candidates, use of legislation to control voting numbers or political district boundaries, and manipulation of the media. Fascist nations also typically use their judiciaries to manipulate or control elections.

are you serious?

Smurph-
My last response to you. I don't want to control your life. You want to control mine. Thats all. Separatation of church and state is good, and is what I want here. I don't want the implementation of my religion, but I don't want it stepped on either. Moron.

Kosar-
You make my point. ALL of those are IMPOSSIBLE without an overbearing government, which republicans stand hard and FAST against. However, we do encourage INDIVIDUALS to believe whatever they want to believe. Your like, however, would have the world conformed to your views. You make my point. Those that put the faith and power in government, will get fascism and or communisim in return. Limit the governement, and you limit its' power to infringe and control.

Tell me which of these is possible without an all powerful governement, and I will agree that fundamental beliefs of republicans and similiear in nature to fascists.

.....Thats what I thought.

Have a good day fellas.

Yo, No I don't. We clearly have different interpretations of what that proposed ammendment was implying.

Disagree with me, but "moron" makes no sense. I only make statements on logic and reason. If your opposition to them leads simply to name calling, then what kind of debate are we having?

Lock,

Not sure which point of yours I 'made', and perhaps I was too subtle. The 7 items that I cited are what is going on right now. Last time I checked the Democrats aren't in office.

I don't really understand much of your post, actually.

A connection between Nazi beliefs and Republican policies can be found in the attempt to change the Constitution to ban gay marriages. That was a blatant attempt to (for the first time ever!) to actually limit one's pusuit of happiness in the Constitution.

Many Republicans even saw through this (ie McCain) and were not about to vote for it. It was an attempt by Bush to shore up Fundamentalist support.

I'm sure it was also pleasing to all American Nazi movements - Of course Bush doesn't care about the Nazis / anymore than Kerry about Cummunists.

Why, when discussing politics, does the GAY issue always come up? If you guys can't see it, there is another proof of distorted influence that the brainwashing that extreme lobbyism and PC movement has had on this country. For pete's sake, I think there are more asian ethnic people in the country than gays. Yet gays are always an issue.
Boys (and girls) you've been used by the always well oiled leftist propaganda machine. :142lmao: Do most you people really give a chit about gays? No, seriously! Unless you're Beandip Jim, that is. :bs:

Having made my previous point, I will say this. Most banana-socialist world leaders are extremely in favor of Kerry. Castro of Cuba has said that Kerry will win in 2004. Chavez of Venezuela said in a public speech "Kerry is my candidate" as he continued to sink his country into socialist hell ravaging the country's treasury and letting loose common street thugs as his "Revolutionary Militia" which continue to physically threaten opposition struggle for fair and democratic recall elections. Kirchner of Argentina had his wife present at the DNC meeting with many of the extremist/radicals there (she is, as usual with argentinian first ladies, very involved in politics, actually a senator) while he continues his socialist rhetoric and blaming western imperialism for the chit-hole his country has fallen into.
This can go on and on and on. And this is only from the western hemisphere.

Kerry has had to make purposeful statements criticizing most these governments and/or leaders just so that people don't think that he's in cahoots with these little monsters.

Bottom line, I would seriously take a look at who the enemy is rooting for.

you say you use "reason"...lmao...you dont know what reason is

First, "banning gay marriages" was never an issue until liberal activist judges made it an issue....by "redefining marriage" and by changing homoxexuality from a pathological state to an "alternative one".......hence, the Consitutional amendment now has legitimate grounds

marriage tax breaks were created to help support a family...encouraging the father and mother to both stay together as in some divorces finances play a role....giving these breaks to people who engage in homosexuality has absolutely NO reason behind it at all....

homosexuality is a pathological state....it is an activity...in some it become an addiction.....any scientist in pursuit of truth and not political correctness will tell you so....it is a pathological state which can and is being reversed so that former practicioners are now leaing happily married lives raising families

I shouldnt have to give these people tax breaks just as i shouldnt have to give tax breaks to people who live together who dont have sex...a person engaging in homosexuality has just as much right to marry a person of the opposite sex as i do...and raise a family...and many people today are actuallly mixing the two.....should these folks get 2 tax breaks?

if a man wants to marry 2 women should he get two tax breaks?

how about a man and 3 women?

dont they have a right to do this? Are only Nazi's the ones who disagree with this lifestyle?

how about the pedophile? or the incestist? do they have rights to get tax breaks for their relationships?

come on liberals...address these issues....if you throw all your morals down the toilet, you need to be consistent....

OK, Dr. Freeze. I know we will absolutely not agree, but I will give you the courtesy of addressing the issiues in question regarding Gay marriages (my opinion - I'm not liberal on many items, but I'll accept the label here I guess).

1) There is more science proving that being homosexual is genetic than there is pathalogical. YES - there are certainly some people who fall into the latter category, and there are also many homosexuals who are pathalogically straight.

2) A relationship between 2 consenting adults is exactly that. Many people (not here of course) feel it's just as valid of a relationship as that among straight people.

3) The argument about polygamy, beastiality, pedohilia, etc is always thrown out there by Fundamentalists. Since when (outside of Mormons a very long time ago) has there been a significant population base that falls into any of these categories. It never has been more than extremely fringe elements (and they are not about to make noise). Homosexuals have always been at or near 10% of any population that we know anything about. AND the overwhelming majority of them have the same desire and ability to have relationships as straight people.

4) In case it helps me explain, I am straight and don't even feel particularly comfortable in gay environments. But I just figure they are as attracted to the same gender as much as I am to the opposite gender. I feel they are basically the equivilant of another race - that's how I base my views.\

-I know this won't convince you. But I've addressed those points. Good discussion!

Exactly my point.
Crazy azz mofo governments harbor terrorists, muslim terrorists, and promote (or try to) anti-american sentiment, as well as activities that harm US citizens and interests. But WTF do you care?
Do you care about Afghanistan or just Iraq? Any problem with Iran or North Korea? Nah, only if we go in and don't get instant results?
This crap goes on all over the world while liberals either team up with the enemy or do nothing in the hope that either it will go away or somebody stronger will come around and fix it. Respectfuly speaking. :poke

I think we all know Iran should have been first. But we just didn't know how to start a war with them. Iraq was a walk over. But where we went wrong in Iraq is the after BS with no plan. Afgan was needed. We all backed our government. N Korea if we were smart we leave it to the Russians, China and S Korea. Why us. There was a time 50 years ago but things change. There more a problem for the three mentioned above then us. Unless we catch them shipping nuke material outside there country. Then we got a mission that is bigger then Iraq ever was. It's called Bi, Bi, N Korea.
