Hate to bring this up, but what if Cutler had been black? Wouldn't that cause more uproar? LOL Would those black players be throwing stones? He obviously isn't well liked. Do you think being a "WHITE BOY" from a college known for its academics add to the opinion some share about him? Just asking

"the bunker"
is this the same offensive line that "turned it around" coming out of the bye?...the same offensive line that played well enough for the bears to go 7-1(not counting the last "don`t count" game vs the packers?)......

seriously...just because you aren`t in the nfl doesn`t mean you don`t have a right to voice an opinion...most guys in here have probably been jocks at some level......so disparaging them for voicing an opinion is a red herring.....

and if it`s not, just take a gander at all the nfl players that were thinking exactly the same thing as the fans.....

whether he could have played or not,i don`t know.....i do know he`s a mediocre qb...middle of the pack......and i think there will be some serious questions asked in the off season about him...fair or not...

my guess is the guy will be on a relatively short leash next year...certainly as far as the fans are concerned...

you get paid the big bucks, this is the kind of shit you have to deal with....

this will shake out next year....either cutler shuts everybody up,or he`ll be forever labeled as soft...

life is tough in the nfl

Where it is real F ing COLD
My problem with Cutler is that after the game he is out at some new steakhouse with gf Kristen Cava something and a bunch others after losing the NFC championship game.. Not saying he souldn't eat but man you get injured, don't come back in, your team loses and then you are out on the town with your reality TV star GF. Kind of crazy..

Cutler already looks like he doesn't care. i am sure he does but man have common sense and stay in for the night..

Mediocre, pussy, call him whatever you want...

He is one of the top 15-20 best in the world at what he does. None of you can even fathom what that means. You can't be a "pussy" and be that good at something as tough as being a quarterback. It's probably the hardest position to play in all of sports. For anyone who watches the Bears, they know that this line is TERRIBLE!!! HE was a sitting duck all year. And he still led them to the NFC Championship. He may not be Brady or Manning, but whoever said he was?? There are at least 15 teams that would die to have this guy as their starting qb. He had an excellent season, all things considered. And by the way, the guy has type 1 Diabetes!!! My 2.5 year old son has the disease, so i know first hand how f-in hard it is to live everyday managing that disease. You feel like crap if your blood/sugar levels are out of whack at all. You have to give yourself multiple injections and check your blood multiple times a day just to ensure that you stay conscious. So, by that standard alone, this kid is tough. To be out there everyday like he is while battling this disease takes stones in itself.

The guy is stand offish with the media and doesn't give a shit what assholes like us think of him... this certainly doesn't make him a bad guy. He obviously doesn't care about the fame. If he was the affable, joking around, likeable character that some guys are, the backlash wouldn't be half as bad. The guy got his ass kicked all year in some freezing cold games... he still does it better than most.

I have no problem criticizing these athletes, but IMO, Cutler gets ripped on way too much, because people don't "like" him. Don't make him out to be Joe Montana or Brett Farve and you won't be disappointed.

half agree with your take

qb IS a tough position, obviously on biggest stage (NFL) makes that much harder. truly, they get too much credit- and blame- in game outcomes. see: led them to NFC champ gm.

maybe his demeanor is less than what we've come to expect from THAT position in that big a game... perhaps we're jus spoiled in thinking is the norm for guys to play "outside of themselves" ... maybe...

but, to me, it just looked like he didnt want ANY part of getting back in there.

right or not- thats what i'm left with feeling.

Jord, you probably said it best. I don't follow the guy at all, but it's just like those in Pittsburgh who were dunping all over Big Ben for his flaws. They have their point and may be right, but they come off so negative they don't appear to be rational or happy people.

I think Cutler is a tuff guy-he wants to win--but his body language does not appease fans--thats the way he is--how any times was he sacked this year and stiill played-he needs to work with a coach to change his attitude and body langauge

and he gets paid like it...the remuneration...the fame....and the blame...it all goes with the territory....

he`s obviously enormously physically talented with a big arm...but we`re not just talking physically tough and talented...you have to be mentally tough as nails...

and this won`t be the first time cutler`s mental toughness has been questioned...

obviously, denver wanted no part of his act....and not because the guy can`t throw a football through a brick wall...

so,now he`ll either sack up and deal with this and come out and play like a top professional next season....or he`ll fold...because there will be enormous pressure on him next year....

this won`t go away...until cutler makes it go away...

i hope he succeeds...because i like seeing wubby happy....:toast:

Game is over and I could personally care less anymore. This is Bears org. problem, not mine. They locked up 30 million and draft picks in a QB who makes poor decisions. You can talk about his arm all day long, diabetes and everything else under the sun. I have my opinion, but it pointless to say anything in regards to it.

But for some to say fans have no right to ? a player because they never played is laughable. That is like saying you cannot ? the President because you have never been the President. I guess only 5-6 sre allowed to ? the President

Last time I checked fans are what drive the cash cow known as the NFL. Whether it be from attendance, advertisement products, jerseys, cable subscriptions etc. Which by the way comes from paying customers. AKA fans.

What does speak volumes is current and former players chiming in with their opinions. Many are not speaking of the injury either. Many are speaking about his demeanor as a team mate. Perception can be just as damaging as anything else.

The Bears are all saying what they should be saying. I expected nothing less. What will be interesting is down the road if any of his team mates start to say anything different.

It would have been interesting to see what would have happened in 2 weeks should the Bears had advanced. Lovie said he would have been questionable. Suppose they made it and he didn't play then, the firestorm from that would have probably been far worse than what is occuring now.

I have to say that this thread was pretty entertaining. A lot of people ripping on some guy without having a clue what is really going on. Now it comes out and he has a torn MCL. I love all the players who are at home adding their input. Even worse we have fat asses at home on their couch bitching about Culter. Give me a break.

Denver traded him because of this exact thing

Attitude, mental toughness, team player.

They could see the future coming too soon.

.

Why does this speak volumes?....current and former players that aren't on his team and inside the bears locker room shouldnt speak volumes to you.

you must believe everything you read in the paper too :0074

you dont hear about all the charity and good things he does for children, because hes doesn't flaunt it....

but draw your own conclusions, instead of listening to a few nfl players out of 1,500 that are a 1,000 miles away from the situation

what future was that?

in the 2nd year out of the trade:

Bears went 12-6 with an NFC Champ game

Broncos went 4-12 and a fired coach

yeah orton and those draft picks are off to a bright future :mj07:

...stick to your 12 pt buy bets

Sorry don't read many papers, nor do I twitter, facebook, myspace, blog or any of that other crap.

And yes other players saying things does say something to me. Some have played with guy, or are friends with others who have. You can't tell me that in the offseason or even during the season these guys don't sit around and talk about team mates to other players from different teams. That's like saying people never talk about co-workers etc. It happens.

I could care less about his charity work that has nothing to do with this situation. Props to him though.

As I said I could care less anymore. My opinion is my opinion and I will keep it at that.

Do me a favor Chicago ... Don't do what Josh McDaniels did and be stupid enough to question whether Cutler wants to be your quarterback. Last time I checked, they haven't had a quarterback since Sid Luckman! I can't even name the guys since Jim McMahon.

And for the guys on Twitter criticizing Cutler ... none of those guys have a ring. Darnell Dockett ... did he even play this year? MJD missed two games at the end of the year with a knee injury while the Jaguars were trying to win their first AFC South title. C'Mon

You are the one that brought up demeanor as a teammate and perception....I think his teammates all know the kind of guy he is(on and off the field)...so why is everyone so quick to take the word of players who arent on his teamover his own teammates?!

if there were a few Bears that said negative things prior to this during the season and then ultimately after this situation...then there may be some validity to the otherside....

Dice your such a homer you cant even pull your head out of your own ass.

Broncos will be in a much better position with the draft picks they got to be done with Cuntler.

But Bears will be able to upgrade that aging defense in the draft. Oh oh they dont have no draft picks. They just got cuntler.

But Bears will be able to get a huge offensive lineman to protect the back of the QB. Oh wait a minute. Bears dont have any draft picks.

Damn ouch again.

Time will tell. But hey guess what. Its all downhill from here for the Chicago Bears. Cuntler will never be the same. He will be railroaded out of the league.

You really think he cares ? He got his 50 million.

Same player as Stafford with the Lions. Stafford got his millions and does not need the NFL anymore. He will continue to drag out his injurys and maybe play one more good year and then tank
it again for good.

It goes to character. Cuntler has none.

Sorry but you should just stick to Good As Gould.

:142smilie :142smilie

Its funny how hard you are defending the guy.
Its the only hope you got
