Ok, I need help with this issue I'm having with my wife. I had a loaded hand gun in my closet hidden, for protection. She knew I owned a few hand guns but didn't know I had one loaded in my closet, not her closet but mine. I told her I wanted it there to protect us from the bad guys, home invasion or burglaries. Well........she freaked out and got extremely pissed at me. We don't have young kids, my son is 27 and I trained him how to use my guns at the range. She thinks that I have lied to her and she wont stop with the questions..............any thoughts. Any of you have a loaded gun in the house for protection???

Four loaded guns in the house.

.45 Sig sauer in truck.
.357 Magnum with hollow points living room area
12 gauge pump by the front door out of sight.
9 mm bedroom.

Fawk the closet it would take you 15 minutes to go get it.

My wife knows where all the guns are and how to use them. Best thing would be to get her to go with you shooting it at a range.

Do you wear the pants in the family ?

just wondering

I agree on the range comment without question. Do you think the do you wear the pants in the family comment was necessary???

I keep a variety of weaponry in the house. Some of there in case someone gets into my house and I need to deal with them. 1 is there in case some gets OUT of my house and I feel like giving them a 6 block headstart.

The wife knows where most of them are.

First off, did you lie to her or just omit some facts?
If no lie, then ask her if she knows you would give your life to protect her, but you're no match against an armed person. That situation is remote but by no means impossible. Look at today's news. Would she really expect you to protect her unarmed against an idiot that would kill you and/or her in that terrible situation?

My wife went to a small get together of women friends and all but her and another woman were packing. This is in the relatively boring midwest. BOL

I didn't lie to her. She knew I had guns. What she didn't know was that I had a loaded one in my closet. I probably should have told her but I did not.

Case U aint been to one.........

Case U aint been to one.........

Lotsa couples go to strip clubs..........She couldn't care less as long as i come home and give her the "Big One". Actually strip clubs have become places where Gentlemen do business...at least the high end ones.
If you want a real "wake-up" on women try and go to a Ladies night sometimes. It will blow ur mind on what women will do that men wont.
Hell when i was in my 20's the best trolling was after a male dancer night. The women would come out literally panting for fresh "meat'. Yeah i know i'm destroying so many of ur illusions.

I would think...that the right thing to do is to train her how to use the weapon. Go to classes with her, teach her to shoot, unload, load, etc.

In my opinion you should have a gun in the house to allow your family a chance to protect itself in a very fawked up world.

But she obviously has tremendous fear of that gun, likely because she doesn't understand it.

Help her with THAT, and you should be ok.

With kids in the household...everything changes.

nice list hammer.

I like those mini-14's they are a lot of fun to pop off a few dozen shots. We used to take two of the banana clips and turn them upside down to each other and then tape them side by side so you could have double the fun without having to reach in your pocket and dilly dally with a clip exchange.

some of my favorite toys in my rooms:
rifles:
.44 Ruger carbine
.444 Marlin
7 mm Browning
Pistol:
Thomspon contender - .44 barrel on it.

No guns (illegal in Hicag)

I have a "be good" stick by the back door and in all my vehicles.:142smilie and I scream really loud

Boys

let it the topic die (with your wife) and carry on if you really feel the protection is necessary

she didn't know before so after a period of time carry on the same

sometimes you have to carry on in such a fashion to keep the piece

sorry peace

No I have a better idea. This friend of mine is about 6'4" 260 mean looking dude. I'm buying him a black ski mask and some blanks for the gun. I'll have him break in the house and pop him a couple of times with the blanks. I bet my wife will think I'm a real hero if I do that.

Uhhh...maybe she'll think you're a hero...or maybe she'll be raging mad at your "joke" and turn the gun on you

I would probably opt for the second option...better load them all with blanks :SIB
