That may very well be the best thing to do in your state, and if it is as easy as walking in putting on a smile and asking for some classes then that is what you should do. It seems a little hard to believe to me though, and I would strongly suggest doing a little more research. I am sure you can google some valuable resources from your specific state. I hope it is that easy for your/her sake and wish her good luck!

I've been checking it out. Anything above.16 and you face the most severe penalties. 72 hours jail. Fine of 1000-5000. Loss of license.150 hours of community service. I hope she learned her lesson. She needs to get accepted in the ARD program.

honestly man, this is the only way to go...

otherwise, her liscense is gone a long time,

and most importantly, her record tarnished...

regardless of cost, you have to do the ARD

Yes you are right Addict. Did your buddies need a lawyer to get the ARD?

Was the breathalizer at the station ? or side of the road ?

A breathalizer at the staion is concrete, however a breathalizer on the road ( otherwise know as a PBT ) can get thrown out in court. At least it did in my case

The one had a lawyer for sure. Can't recall on the other. I know of many other people who aren't friends really who have succesfully completed the program and absolutley benefited from it.....

Just ask state trooper or judge they have all the information....

Combine this, with what Whathisnuts said, and she should have some luck.....walk in apologetic and accepting full responsibilty, while being knowledgebale of how ARD works and I'm sure she will get it....

Gl to ya hope it works out.

why do parents make this mistake over and over.

you sound like yu followed the cop car and tried to help her with her handcuffs as they walked her inside.

You got to let this adult 25 yr old spend some time there in jail to get the total experience.

You have to let them have to borrow change from someone to make a phone call.

You would be surprised how much more they learn rather than a hour and a half. She could do that standing on her head sobering up.

Then when she finally makes the phone call she is the one worrying that she may not get out if she aint nice.

sounds like too much for granted.

still living at home too.

kick her out . Give her 3 mths

help her get a place and grow up some.

PS I suppose you are going to pay for eveything to get her out of trouble , just like you have probably done all her life.

people just dont get life sometimes

NOT this. What a pompous answer from Mr. Perfect. I agree with your addict and whatshisnuts suggestions. And, no, I am sure you didn't help her with her handcuffs.

Thank god she didn't hurt herself or anybody else. I hope she will learn from this. This is one offense that can & should be avoided.
Good luck to her & your family.

Such a clueless tool, and definitely not the sharpest in the shed when buying points.

I knew I would catch some shit on this post and rightfully so. No one should ever drink and drive. I'm sure at least 80% of the posters on here drove over the limit at one time.
