Congrats dawgball,
I remember how good I felt the last time I quit...no coughing...run up stairs and not even breath hard, and it does NOT take long to notice the BIG physical changes going on.
I think its outstanding that we're going to make BIIIIIIIIG, IMPORTANT, life changes here. Gotta share..I feel friggen fantastic!
FAN-------TASTIC. MOODS are much better today
Very few cravings so far......DTB...great idea to start cutting back now...Jack...why dont you try that too .....GET AGRESSIVE GUYS! This is a friggen WAR and ya gotta have attitude...I mean REAL ATTITUDE. These cigarette companies had me hooked before I was 10 years old. My kids grew up worrying about me dying on them cause of the smokes. Man, I'm sorry about that! Kissed off drinking about 14 years ago. I never wanted my kids to see me sloppy like that.. Like DTB, a beer or 2 once in a blue moon with friends........but the smokes are much harder. (for me anyway) SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
LETS GET EM GUYS!>>>>>>>F---K THEM....I CAN
GAMBLE, WATCH SPORTS, PLAY SPORTS, DRINK COFFEE' BEER IF I WANT>>>> AND I'M NOT>>>NOT DOIN IT WITH CIGARETTES! (ATTITUDE)
And I'm playin the damn Yankees and I don't care how much wood i have to lay.

funny funny stuff. I can relate to the pissing, its unbelievable how you can get to really like water and not craving soda, but pissing all day and then having to get up 2-3 times a night is a real pain plus you don't get any sleep.

i'm still laughing

UPDATE..... Day 6...This is tough! ... almost lost it last night...still got butts in the drawer in case I fail. maybe thats the problem. easy access....Anyway....I havent smoked in the house for 10 years so when I come to the computer....and find things of interest it helps...habit knows that thats not a smoking place or a smoking time. BUT..evenings and down time are still tough. Exercise really helps....I never want to smoke after that. Jack....I gotta laugh about Airports, etc. can sure identify with all that stuff.
I dont wanna beat a dead horse with this thread so this will be my last update.....I think I'll make it. Also, gotta get in shape for a physical early Sept.

Jack,DTB,Buddy...and others who plan on quitting..............I'd suggest, at the risk of being redundant,GET READY! GET USED TO
DENIAL.. START EXERCISING SOME BEFORE YOU QUIT, REACHABLE GOALS...I mean it ...1st day 1/2 hour at a time....PAMPER YOURSELF..REWARD YOURSELF....TELL LOVED ONES HOW MUCH YOU NEED SUPPORT<<(and apologize frequently for your moods and temperment)
You WILL see and feel physical changes in the FIRST week.(fast) IF you need it be prepared with a patch ( I still have mine in my wallet).........Good Luck! I'm comin back to this just before Labor Day to see if you guys are still UP for this.

When I feel the crave, I slowly count to 50.

If the crave is still there, I count to 50 again...

after that, it's okay.

bear,

I'd appreciate it if would still continue posting. No problem if you don't want to, I'll understand.

Keep up the good work as I'm behind you all the way.

I'm a smoker who has been lurking and following this thread.

Having lived in Vegas for ten years, my lovely wife and I got used to NEVER eating at home. Fletcher can relate to this, I think. BTW, still waiting for a reply, Fletcher, on the where abouts of a friend I mentioned in the email to ya.

OK, rambled off the subject, bear. My point is: I eat out with friends almost every night. They all smoke, and when I have a drink or two, all hell breaks loose with the damn cigs.

Guess I need to change my life style, totally, to give up these killers.

That's hard to do.

Just know I need to quit, but can't get there.

Keep your thread going, bear. It may help me.

Thank you,

kcwolf

Hey KC....c'mon bro
LABOR DAY......You'll feel great in a week if ya can get through it! We're gathering momentum here. Be one of our leaders with Jack, DTB, Buddy, Snoozing, dawgball and the others that have been through this or will be going through it. We've got a great support cast with Fletch, Neemer, Ctownguy, 6/5, prospector, Newp2112, rrc, anders. O Kat, Selkirk, hello there, and more...Who knows ....maybe bmc, kneifl, the cruncher or some of the others will join by then.
SMOKING SUCKS! I remember that! and that I wanted to quit badly. BUT once you quit those grimy, smelly butts become your long lost best friends....they are part of the family, they are sex, drugs and rock n roll all in a little white and green pack. And then they turn on you and really F you up.
C'mon KC, you sound like you're ready!

I understand tons of people smoke in Vegas. Is it the norm???? Here in CT.........not too many, and rarely does anyone smoke in a restaurant. People would look at you as if to say... "Take your smoke outside barbarian"...bars, casino different story....I havent smoked in a restaurant in 10 years. Where I live smoking is NOT the norm and people look down on smokers. If not I'd probably have smoked a lot more.

I'll bet we get a lotta new faces as we get to Labor day..People are sick of it, as I was, and getting mentally READY for a week of *&^&^%^*%$#&^%##@$#@#Y*+*.
Are you ready for some football....I'm on San Diego today!
