Painful.
Sorry Bro, I did.

I only had 2 bets.

A small parlay that lost big time. Thanks BAD HARI.

A bigger bet on Aoki to beat Alvarez. Sorry Kick!!

You know what nj, after watching the video

Maybe the fight was fixed... For overeem!

LOL

This mf'er was a killer in k1 2 weeks ago. WTF happened?

first, keep posting my name in lower cases, it must be a bitch to hold shift everytime you msg me :mj07: im all for practicality

gambling is rough. i lost on alvarez too, the Jigga Man didn't have the opportunity to win our losses back.

nice job weepaul. its hard to congratulate winners after losing, let me also congratulate kickserv on picking mir, i was too upset to do so at the time.

oscar/nog/hari to end the year. that's a nice chunk of change down the crapper.

this has been a fucked up december. i thought i was going to recoup my de la hoya losses, but after this ufc/k-1 combo i've only made back $26. i suppose i'm one of the lucky ones though, i wasn't on either nogueira or hari. i made an unposted bet on alvarez though, that guy's an idiot as already mentioned. and seeing aoki buttscoot enraged me, i want to see that fucker get smashed.

cheers dude

here's to a new year and forgetting the last month (really for me since 10/18 Hops-Pavlik)

this one was UNBELIEVABLE to me....I started to have concerns about Noguiera last week before the fight...but I was positive Badr Hari would dominate....i got pie in my face and one empty pocket....and the other pocket is worried....

Boxing cannot come soon enough....

My bad kick

20 20 hindsight....but you know what the best bet was last...

at -150 to -200 depending on the book....

Cro Cop over that big stiff Choi...did you see that fight?

Man, that dude was ready to quit before he arrived to the arena....when they introduced the fighters, he looked like he was looking for the exit door...

wish to the Lord I had bet on Cro-Cop instead of f'n Badr Hari !

Sorry to dwell here, but I figure if you don't care you will jut skip the thread. I've watched the Hari fight a few times...the similarities in these 3 disasters are uncanny...

6 athletes...Pacquiao, Oscar, Mir, Noguira, Overeem, Hari...all preparing for big fights...

the favorite in each fight is anywhere from -200 to -400...with strong, smart cappers backing the fav each tiime...and all three I personally thought would win easily

Within 30 seconds of each fight beginning, the victor was, for all intensive purposes, determined...the fights, in a sense, over.....

in each fight....it became abundantly clear who the "mentally" prepared fighter was immediately....

in each fight....the stronger, more direct, more patient hitter took his time and landed precise, accurate, powerful blows....

and in each fight...the opponent just unraveled completely...flailing wide, empty, inaccurate, miracle shots of desperation...

in each fight...the "lock" favorite...got knocked the fuk out !

Combat Sports are:

1. SO MUCH about mental preparation and self-belief (Pac-Man, Mir, Overeem...guys who REALLY believe in themselves)

2. if you ain't ready to fight, it becomes that much easier to fold when you start getting popped !
(Oscar, Hari, and, in that fight, Nog...not ready for battle)

Maybe I am being too hard on Nog (who has been in rough battles his whole career), but with Oscar and Hari OVER-CONFIDENCE also clearly led to their downfalls...

If only this stuff was so clear to me before the fights!

Happy New Year....this one can't end soon enough...

Unbeleivable gents-

After last weekend I lost my whole remaining bankroll $300+ on Noguiera losing. I was planning to fund another $100 to make a 5-team parlay last night but decided against it simply because I started off this year on a bad foot after I lost $1000 on Melendez in Japan (same date in 2007) ........

well, the parlay woulda busted anyways with the only winner being Schilt.

This was a wild, wild year (in a bad sense) and my ONLY losing one on record (down nearly 4k)

HAppy New Year and we WILL come back next year.

PEACE

I liked Hari bet not only because he is top K1 fighter in K1 fight, but because of this guy Alistar. I saw him in more than few fights when he managed to loose fights he had practically won. That?s why this was a perfect bet for me. And than I saw them in the ring before fight with Hari looking scared and Alicstar looking like blood thirsty hunter. Guess Hari then discovered he is not fighting some over the hill guy he got used to in K1.

Good post Ghost except I'm sure Big Nog believed in himself and learned hard lesson that he is finished. Still feeling sorry when I remember his face after the fight.

Oh and again my money management got best of me. Won 2 +bets (Tamura, Nakamura), lost 2 ?bets (Hari, Alvarez) and finished in the big hole.

I dont know what was wrong with Hari...he obviously has a weak chin...if he had landed the first punch he probably would have won the fight...but he didnt fight with a great deal of urgency...lol...

Still, I dont think Overeem could take somebody like Schillt...

Actually I had a gut feeling that this fight was more dangerous than it seemed, but my head kept telling me the obvious facts...that Overeem was 0-2 in K-1 against fighters who were worse and hasnt competed in k-1 for a couple of years.....

oh well....a happy new year to everybdoy!!

"the bunker"
schilt can fight...and doesn`t usually "not show up"....

he has trouble when he ventures into mma vs submission guys...i believe nogueira got him back when nogueira was nogueira...

from sherdog:

Ever improving, Overeem came into his own as a kickboxer with his shocking knockout of World Grand Prix 2008 finalist Badr Hari.

Asked if he would fight Hari under MMA rules, Overeem replied, ?He challenged me, and I was the one who said we?ll fight with his rules first. This was confirmed by his management, FEG and my management. A deal?s a deal, so why not??

Despite Overeem?s answer, Hari was of a different mind.

?It?s nothing against the offer, but I?m a standup fighter. It?s what I do, and MMA is not my sport. There will be no MMA fight soon or in the future.?

Hari also noted fatigue and an inability to stay motivated for the fight.

?I fought three fights in the Grand Prix [Final], and then two and a half weeks later, I had to appear here,? he said while explaining why he lost. ?It?s hard for a fighter to keep their focus and be motivated to fight four big fights in one month.?
