Hedge, I'd bet a million dollars that in the event of a shooting in a public place, you'd remove your Taurus from your holster and immediately shoot yourself in the leg.
One example isn't from the civilized world and the other is arson. Neither has anything to do with mass shootings. We all know what the answer is.
We have nearly half the world's civilian owned guns right here. More guns isn't working.
Mental health is a big problem, this should be priority #1 in curbing these mass shootings. How many mass shooters have been on anti depressants? I would bet most of them
Nobody is willingly going to turn in their guns so that is not a solution

when the next time is 10 minutes before the first responders get inside a Walmart or a Church to confront someone with a weapon in their hands capable of taking the lives of 600 before anyone arrives.

I'm sorry OS, I can't come up with an answer that "will work" to stop the killings and I doubt anyone can....All I hear is BS from potential Presidential Candidates that still have no real answers, just a bunch of double talk looking for votes.....What's your plan that can actually stop this carnage going forward......:shrug:
People can place blame where they want but the end result is anyone who wants to do damage can and will do damage.....This isn't an issue that just started, this has been going on for years....Wasn't stopped then, won't be stopped now.....
Sick people will always find a way to do damage no matter what......Unfortunately we have someone in office and media that keep pushing the issue and causing more harm....
I guess this means we are the only civilized country with a MASSIVE mental health problem. If our population is mentally unstable and on drugs, does it make sense to let them own guns? Sounds like you're making a case for no and I'm with you.

#2. NO automatic or semi automatic weapons can be sold or possessed by those in the USA. No military or weapons of war as well.

#4. Well we have to look to where change has worked and Japan is a great example.
So. You have to attend an all-day class, take a written exam and pass a shooting-range test with a mark of at least 95%.
There are also mental health and drugs tests. Your criminal record is checked and police look for links to extremist groups. Then they check your relatives too - and even your work colleagues. And as well as having the power to deny gun licences, police also have sweeping powers to search and seize weapons.
Renew every 2 years and testing ..eye and reflex along with recheck of criminal and driving record.
That's not all. Handguns are banned outright.
Furthermore convicted of a driving offense with Pot or Alcohol involved and you right to own a rifle is revoked.If you don't have sound judgement behind the wheel you damn sure don't have it with a bullet in your hand.
