wow sorry to kickserv, the lone thompson backer. the fight should have been stopped in the 2nd, it was clear the ref was instructed to let kimbo die before tko'ing him

thompson was probably gonig to get ko'd there, but he didnt have a shot to fight back. the ref looked to be waiting for the 1st chance to get thompson out of there, that was absolutely terrible.

loved the Smith/Lawler fight. He should have had the 5 minutes. Smith probably did more to market himself tonight on the big new public stage than anybody, don't u think? Especially with his comments. All genuine and all fight. Loved that.

If Kimbo wasn't already exposed in the past for being all hype, surely he is now. Any fighter of any caliber would have had Thompson out fast. Man what a jacked up ear he had! I think the stoppage was right, so I guess I'm in the minority. That guy was out on his feet, and he even hit the ref in his face after it was over. That's not something he would normally do.

I've heard of cauliflower ear before; I'm going to have to look it up and see what I find. That was terrible, and as soon as it was hit, bloodbath!

Yes, some suspect decisions to say the least. I will give some props to CBS, I thought they did a good job. And I was surprised they mentioned that Gina didn't make weight, give them credit for not sugar-coating anything. And props to the commentators for not nut-hugging Kimbo, I like how Shamrock was saying "he doesn't know what to do" when Kimbo was on the ground.

And for those that don't like Dana White, you should listen to the higher-ups at Elite-XC and the garbage they say. You want to talk about b.s. you should listen to what those idiots say about their fighters. I can't wait for the damage control after these fights. I mean just wait for one of them to tell us how great Kimbo is, wait, just wait.

Is this crowd really that unfamiliar with MMA? I can't believe they continued to boo through the Smith/Lawer fight??? that was a good slug fest.

I think Kimbo is not as good as Elite XC is hyping him, but I think he is better than the rest of the MMA world give him credit for. i think if he stays dedicated to learning the sport, he "could" be a decent force (never top top tier, but a good career).

i got to agree with you here Dawg. I hate when i hear that booing when guys are doing a little something in the ring. there are times when it is warranted but at no time was it tonight. Makes me cringe

Only one thought:

The NY Dumb Ass and Kimbo are both terrible fighters.

Kimbo is AWFUL and you could tell Bas even knew it.
The takedowns were WAY too easy and his ground game was laughable.If Thompson had maned up and drop 1 or 2 harder elbows while on top then it would have been stopped.

A few comments about tonights card.

I think Gina was beginning to tire when she started landing those punches. I give her credit, she hits harder than the "colossus".

Speaking of big James, it's a pity he hits about as hard as my 7 year old son from side control or the fight would have been his.
He is lucky the ref did not hit him back after the stoppage or it would have been lights out.

Kimbo is a cardio machine :mj07: .

Smith should have been given 5 minutes to recover.

The funniest moment for me tonight is when the announcer said "I don't understand why the crowd is booing, this is not boxing where there is action from start to finish". I am sure that is exactly what Elite XC and CBS wanted to hear.
